This was a well made, good looking boot. I'm returning because I can feel nothing meeting or supporting my (low) arch--this would mean overpronation and sore feet for me. At $200, there should be arch support.

I don't often write reviews, but these boots are great!! Right out of the box they were comfortable and needed no breaking in. If you have medium to wide feet, they may not work. My feet are extremely narrow so switched out the innersole that came with the boot for one with more cushion and support and they fit perfectly. The boots are sturdy but flexible. I'd tried another pair that were too stiff. Love the color also.

These are nice looking, relatively light-weight hikers, but in my usual size (9, and my foot is fairly narrow), the footbed is too narrow and squishing my smaller toes. I could go up half a size, but am afraid the rest of the shoe might be too wide for my foot.

I sized up. The label says US 7 1/2 and 39 euro (!) Usually I look for a 7/38. I like the soft, yet firm leather, and the way these make my feet look smaller. The GoreTex and open hooks at the top are just what I wanted. The tread is perfect for snow, and sloppy winter weather. These remind me of the Renegade style Lowas that I wore for years. Sizing seems to have changed, perhaps with a shift in where they're manufactured. I have four pair of Lowas in my closet now, both 7M and 7 1/2, made in Italy and Slovakia. Thanks to Zappos for amazing customer service. This week, I ordered 5 styles, and kept two that make me feel like dancing.

The boots fit right out of the box. They matched the color in the ad exactly. They are very light in weight. An excellent boot I would recommend.

The Toro was my first experience with Lowa boots. I have a narrow foot and was surprised that the 9.5 M fit my foot perfectly. I was concerned when I ordered the boots as many reviewers indicated that they were true to the width. In my opinion, these boots run narrow as all hiking boots that are not a narrow size are typically too wide and I must insert and additional insole and wear very thick hiking socks. This was not necessary with these boots. I did switch the insole to a Spenco sole with a rigid arch support. I found these boots to cause a little pain across the ball of my foot until they were broken in. This is what I would call a light weight hiking boot. In my mind it is similar to a high top sneaker. It does provide good ankle support but the sole is more flexible or less rigid. I use them for easy hikes in the woods where I don't have to worry about climbing up and over rocks. These boots did prompt me to purchase the Lowa Renegade boot which is better suited for a more intermediate hiking terrain. Both the Toro and the Renegade have a place in my hiking boot repertoire. I LOVE this brand for my narrow foot. I plan on purchasing a low top hiking shoe also.
