I am not sure who designed these shoes but they certainly did not speak to anyone with Autism, or caretakers or clinicians who treat them for design advise. These are not very sensory friendly. The inside elastic is rough and not sewn down completely so it feels like a stiff tag. The feeling is better when socks are worn but so many people with sensory issues can’t tolerate socks. There is very little Cush in the “comfy cush” and no arch support. Oddly, non Autism Vans are far more comfortable. I would not recommend them. Also, shame on Vans for creating such a non sensory friendly shoe.

Autism Awareness is a boatload of misinformation from non-autistic, mostly ableist sources. Vans should listen to actually autistic people. Ask what WE want in a shoe. Don't foist this on us any more than that awful Autism Speaks group. It's Autism ACCEPTANCE, or don't waste my autistic time.

They fit well and I like what vans did with supporting autism.

These Vans are super cute. I always get compliments whenever I wear them. My only gripe about the shoe, is that they run a bit small. These Vans have additional padding, so I would go half a size up if your foot is on the wider side. If you have a narrow foot like myself, they stretch slightly with use and become more comfortable.
