I've always loved Taos sandals, I ordered a size 9; the first pair I received were size 11 so had to send them back. The 9's arrived and I am happy with them. I usually wear a 9 1/2 in most brands but have always ordered a 9 with Taos sine that's what I've been told compares with European size 41. Truthfully, they are a little bit too short for me, but the arch fits so well that I decided to keep them. Thankfully the adjustable straps can accommodate both a wider width at the toes and a narrower heel.

These could have been great. Except: 1) The band across the forefoot is too far forward – so it goes across the toes, rather than across the ball of the foot. 2) The top ankle strap is in a weird position. 3) The strap behind the heel has about a thumb's width of space between it and the ankle! Otherwise, very nice!

Love the shoe and regret I have to return the shoe but it does not fit. I have an exceptionally wide foot and need wide shoes. I ordered this in a size larger hoping that would accommodate the width factor but the velcro straps will barely meet not enough to fasten the shoe. Shoe is wonderful for a medium width foot. It was my foot not the shoe.

Fit was a perfect 7M. The leather is soft and comfortable, and the footbed gives good support. Beautiful sandal in red!

Taos does not disappoint. I love the lower heel height of these. I have back problems and sometimes need a very low heel for good postural alignment. These have great support inside. Straps adjust to my narrow foot even though these are true medium width, bought the red--it's a dark red--almost like cranberry--very soft color--nice.

Fit was a little loose and didn’t have enough ability to tighten straps as much as I needed. I also felt the sandals with the cork were a little heavy. I liked them, but just didn’t work for me. None of the Taos sandals that I’ve purchased since the “Desire” has no longer been manufactured (of which I still have six pairs) have the stability on my foot that the extra side strap on those provided. I keep wearing them, even though some have seen better days. Still the best!

I usually love this brand, but these were not especially comfortable and I felt like they made my feet look fat. I returned them.

The size and fit were spot-on and they have wonderful support. I ordered another sandal that I liked the look of a little better, so I ended up returning these.

I have foot problems. And I didn’t think I would find a pair of sandals that I could actually walk in but this felt great. I can’t believe that I can wear sandals again!

Love these! Comfortable right out of the box! Love the color - perfectly matches neutral handbags that I have. I got the tan color. Love the style. Very happy with my purchase!

Style, fit comfort, quality and value were all good! I bought one in each color. My summer is up and running.

if you want a great pair of footwear, order the TAOS brand. Never disappoints, always fits right, never have to return, nice design, just order TAOS you will love them!!!

Very comfortable, nice red color that will go nicely with a variety of colors, not too bright.

These felt good on the feet, but the style was just too boring and made me feel stodgy.

I have tried 2 sizes in Taos Premier (a slide version), BUT this Pioneer was NOT as comfortable due to the placement of the strap over the ankle. I prefer having a strap on my heel (easier to drive the car) but this one was too big for my skinny ankle. I have another Taos sandal VERY similar to this Pioneer - the "Lucky". It is European Sizing and the ankle strap has the same curved contour. The Lucky DOES work for me. I really LIKE the cork sole. Try them :)
