These are my first waterproof boots and I couldn't be more pleased with their performance to date. I wanted a mid ankle boot with some flexibility when I carry my youngest via backpack carrier, but with enough support to tackle the White Mountains here in NH. I've waded through rivers with no water seeping in and the support has saved my ankles from many rocky scrambles. Highly recommended!

This is my second pair of Vaya Mid GTX. I'm an avid hiker and ultra trail runner who has had three foot surgeries and is trying to avoid a fourth with proper footwear. I wanted a lightweight, goretex hiker that didn't rub my bunions or scars. I tried the Quest 4D which has excellent reviews, but its heavier, stiffer construction rubbed me in all the wrong places. The Vaya Mid, however, fits like a supportive sneaker and requires no break-in period. These are my go-to hikers for day hikes. For reference, I'm an 8.5 in most every other shoe brand but Salomons fit bigger. I wear Speedcross 3 & 4 in size 8, Speedcross 5 Wide in size 7.5, Ellipse winter boot in size 8, X Ultra hiking shoe in size 8 (bit roomy), and XA Pro 3D hiking shoe in size 8. Yeah, I'm a Salomon fan.

I love the Vaya collection. I was on a mission last year to find the perfect hiking boot for my needs. I had a list of 15 I tried on (Salomon, Keen, Merrell, Oboz, Vasquez brands) and the fit on these was so much better than any other boot I tried.I do not have narrow feet, so when things are not wide enough, it is the worst. These feel like a light weight basketball shoe because of the materials used. They are so comfortable and the only reason I didn't buy them right away because I honestly wasn't in love with either of the prior colors (the green color and the now discontinued blue). When I saw the new Stormy Weather color it was the last piece of the puzzle and I jumped on them. I'm so glad I did because the color is SO perfect! I cannot wait to use them for years along with the Vaya Blaze winter boots I bought this winter. Great collection of boots!

With the right socks (Darn Tough), these boots were comfortable enough to hike Acatenango. I was so nervous about blisters but my feet fared amazingly well. Not to mention the awesome ankle support and grips were a game changer when climbing up steep, crumbly volcanic rock. Unfortunately, they are not waterproof which is something I would expect them to be given the material and the claim. We encountered some rain on the way up and my boots were almost instantly soaked through which made going to the summit in freezing weather a dangerous adventure that I had to pass on. I just wish that there were more transparency on the water resistance level so that I could have been fully prepared.

The Vaya is my 5th pair of Salomon hiking shoes. I love them being comfortable and no need to break in. Unfortunately this pair were not waterproof. I live in Vancouver, BC and it rains a lot here. The Vaya failed miserably and left my feet soaked after hiking in the rain yesterday (and I wore rain pants and gaiters). I would return them if i could find my receipt.

I absolutely love this hiking shoe. Ive had mine for three years. I'm so sad they seem to be getting rid of them. Please bring them back! I'm going to need a new pair.

Had this boot for the past three years and sadly need to replace it now after tearing a hole and losing tread. But I will buy in a heartbeat if/when they restock! My first hiking boot ever and they were comfortable from the start ~ no breaking them in. I hope they bring back the blue! Or something else cool, but that blue was great. I also hike A LOT, like a lot a lot. So for these to have held up for that long and on all the crazy trails I did in them is incredible. They were there for me more than most people have been, definitely shed a few tears when I realized it was time to get a new pair.

I've owned these hiking boots for almost two years now. They are still going strong. I love them! They have never caused any trouble. I hike through dry, rocky, mud, snow, and creek beds...some steep slick leafy slopes, these shoes never let me down. They did get submerged in the water once. I cleaned them at home immediately according to the instructions Salomon posts online. They still look and feel awesome! I have waterproofing spray to use on them as needed. I did replace the insoles with ones that provides more cushion and arch support.

I bought these a little over a month ago as my old pair of walking boots had started to leak. I am very pleased with them, they are amazingly light and very comfortable to walk in.

Have had a foot op and find any footwear difficult to say the least. My boots have no seams, don't rub or leak and I feel like zebedee..on springs!

I wore these while hiking Saint Mary's Glacier and loved that they were lightweight, breathable with ankle support. I haven't tested the waterproofness yet, but loved the extra toe room because my feet swell when hiking. Super comfortable and loved the grip.

These boots are amazing. Wore them right out of the box for 2 weeks of hiking the national parks Utah. No blisters, no rubs, ever. They are very lightweight. I ordered the same size as my running shoe, which is one size up from my normal size so there is plenty of room in the toe box. Performance was very good, I was happy to have the grip and stability these boots offered. I would definitely buy these again. Arch support could be better, but I have very high arches and I still never had a problem. Can’t wait to use them again!

Did a bit of research & am delighted beyond expectations on the Salomon Vaya hiking/walking boot! Comfortable from the get-go, good ankle support & light as a feather! Very very happy, now off to find them in another colourway! Worth the investment.

So happy with my purchase, im on my feet for 6+ hours a day walking for work. I took these straight out of the box and did a full day, they are so light it's like walking on air. I think I will be getting another pair for less wet days.

I used these boots all summer and fall 2020. I absolutely love them! I love their comfort and solid fit. I love how they feel like they are already broken in right out of the box. They come up just high enough where they protect me from the elements, but do not rub on my ankle like other boots have! These are waterproof for successful stream crossings, and this green color is awesome against natures backdrop. Would totally buy again or refer to a friend.

I wear this boot daily and bought a second pair to have as a back up. I can't be without my Vaya's. Sturdy, lightweight, waterproof, and excellent fit. Perfect for long hikes.

Normally, I hike in trail runners on both day hikes and overnight backpacking trips, but when the conditions are cold, wet, icy and sloppy, I opt for a lightweight hiking boot. These boots come with an out-of-the-box style, which means they're comfortable from the first wear no breaking in needed! For someone like me who's prone to rolling their ankle on trail, I love the extra ankle support these boots have. I also love the wide toe box, giving my toes plenty of room to spread out evenly when wearing a thicker sock during the winter. These boots are soft, comfortable and waterproof. I've stepped in puddles unknowingly and slipped my feet in the river a couple of times while wearing these boots and my feet have always remained 100% dry. In addition to these boots being incredibly functional, I also love how cute they are.

I'd been hiking in my Altra trail running shoes for sometime now in Alaska, through snow and slush, and loved those because they fit my foot and had room for my toes to spread out while still providing great grip. All of my friends that wore Salomon raved about them. After a few seasons in trail runners I decided to look into mid height boots to help support my ankles on my longer 15+ mile hikes. The reviews all said these ran wide! Between those review and my friends personal accounts, I splurged, and I am not looking back. These give my my toes room, my ankles support, and keep my feet dry. Couldn't be happier. Except maybe if I had them in different colors :)

Since day one, my relationship with VAYA has been amazing. lol. I did not need to break these boots in one bit. I have tried different types of socks and all sorts of terrain and they have not let me down. I also love the cool colors, and have enjoyed posting pics on social media to share! I would definitely recommend these.

These boots have an awesome fit and when they arrived I thought I was delivered an empty box!! I opened the box up and my boots were in there! I have an older pair of Salomon, a little heavier boot and I will be using them as my winter hikers..
