I have played at least 20 rounds of Disc Golf, and hiked over 100 miles in these shoes, on top of every day use and they look as if they are brand new. The upper material is very durable, with enough overlays to protect the shoe from anything you throw at it. The outsole helps me keep my grip in some of the muddiest conditions.

They do what they say on the tin, i have had better shoes from Salamon but seem sturdy enough to last and waterproof as required.

My first pair I bought a year ago and they were comfortable from the get go, I put lots of miles on them and when it was time to replace them I decided to buy the same model, once I again super comfy.

I wear these for disc golf and they provide good grip on concrete tee pads and great grip on AstroTurf tee pads. It's got little spikes on the bottom that provide much needed traction for walk ups on uneven terrain. They have been holding up in the morning dew as well for keeping my feet dry on those early morning rounds.

Great shoe for trail running or hiking. The arch support is awesome. I was very impressed with how water proof they are.

I have purchased quite a few of this type of shoe....light hikers, almost heavy duty sneakers. I mostly use them for street shoes, but I like the support this type of shoe provides over regular sneakers. Of all the different brands I've bought (Merrell, Addidas, and a few others) I like these the best. They fit my foot from the first time I tried them on, and didn't require any break in to get comfortable. I only look for this type shoe with some kind of "laceless" cinching lacing system, and so far the system they use on this shoe is my favorite. Of special note, I don't really like the way many other models just ask you to tuck extra length after tightening under the laces, I really like the lace pocket on this model. They also look to have a good bit of reinforcement in the areas that will get wear and tear from tightening and loosening the lace system. My last similar shoe from Addidas wore out pretty fast wear the laces rubbed agains the shoe material.
They aren't cheap, but these are the best shoe like this that I've ever worn. Highly recommended!

Got these to replace my X-Ultras which had worn out. I was looking for a lighter slightly more flexible shoe. This definitely fulfilled my demands. Jumped right in to a heavy hiking routine and the shoe has been excellent. Good grip and support while being very comfortable. More comfortable than the X-Ultras. If I have any complaint, and it's a minor one, is that it's more difficult to get on. Not sure why, but compared to other Salomon's I've had, this one is more of a struggle to get on and off. For some reason the tongue doesn't open up as much and being old and arthritic I have a harder time getting my feet in and out of this shoe. Otherwise the shoe is excellent. Hoping durability is decent, I have a tendency to wear out Salomons in about 3-4 months.

I love these shoes and every Solomon I've owned. That said, this pair stinks - like, knock the buzzards off road kill stink. I don't know what's different about them, but my wife won't let me wear them in the house or out in public. This is the only pair I own to do this, so commit to washing them before you buy.

The best of the XA style shoes. These feel very natural for walking with smooth heel strike to toe off motion. I replaced the insole with a Samurai red insole ( I do this with all my shoes) and the fit is excellent. I am size 10.5 and that size fits well for me. Overall, I like Salomon shoes, and for me, this is one of the better ones.

I'm on third pair, they are excellent for winter. The two negatives i found are; the soles are rather slippery on wet surfaces in the woods which i experienced hiking Northville-Placid trail, and the heel bone rubs out the inside of the back of the shoe.

Fit is pretty good. The sole is very durable and firm without being too stiff. Very little arch support & not a lot of side support. Really like the quick lace system.

I wanted a weather proof low cut hiker and this shoes does it well. I like the lacing system which is different than the other Salomon shoes I have purchased in the past. I have long narrow feet and Salmon normally fits my foot awesome. This shoe seems to run a bit wider than I would like. I will fill it out with a thicker sock.

Used these shoes for disc golf. (walking through wet grass and woods)
lasted about 8 months as waterproof.
thorns tore right through the lining and at the year mark the waterproofing near the sole started to become un-glued.
I expected these to last at least 2 years but was disappointed considering they are not cheap shoes.
The good is that they are light weight and the corded laces work well.

Great styling, firm sole is decent for trails or on soft ground and the quick-lace system is a nice feature. I tried them on a road run for a few miles and was not a fan of the harder sole on pavement. The inner footbed is pretty comfy on long hikes. A thing I notice is that I always seem to get some little bit of rock or dirt inside the shoe no matter where I am, which seems kind of weird. The outer is kind of noisy too. There is a noticeable pop from a crease near the toe when pushing off due to the lacing system and the stiff GoreTex fabric as well as an overall creaky, squeakiness when walking.

Thought I would switch up to something new after many many years with the x ultra. After 2 days and maybe 17 km on the Bruce trail, i wish i could go back and stick with what worked. Shoes fit a little big in the toe box and do not provide long lasting comfort. 3d chassis supports the back and middle of the foot, and after that the toes and balls of the feet are left to their own devices. The shoe fore has no stability, nor the cushioning to support the forefoot. After 10km my feet and legs are done. These shoes are not horrible, but aren't meant for long hiking jaunts, that's for sure.

Bought these to replace a worn-out pair of waterproof Evasion 2 shoes, expecting similar quality. Have had several pairs of the Evasion model line, and been very happy with all of them. This pair is priced higher, and quality is noticeably poorer. Sole is inferior in both grip and comfort when walking, shoe upper feels cheap & stiff. They are waterproof, but don't breathe well , so you do end up with sweaty feet. Quicklace feature is poor. I cut mine off & replaced with real laces.
