I just received my third pair of Solomon trail runners. I enjoy them and wear most days when not wearing dressier shoes. On my last pair of XA Pro 3D the speed lace tore through the strap on both shoes. See photo. My new pair of XA Wild has the same lacing, so I'm hoping it does not have the same issue. I really like the speed lacing and the overall fit. Perhaps I'm pulling the lace too tight or hard. We'll see. Otherwise, I highly recommend them.

I have 2 pairs of this shoes.
I'm using them for everyday walking, working and else.
But.
After 4-5 hours of using or all day, the feet smell very bad no matter what kind of socks you use.

I've had these for a year; I got them because I was advised to get shoes with good arch support, and having had a pair of Salomon's Deemax 3's for quite a few years I decided to go for one that had similar support features (my feet always felt solid in those).
I'll say that they've definitely done the job well, despite being a little on the clunky side (not sure what lightweight shoes would offer this kind of support). However right away I noticed the awkward fold on the inner toe area that's been mentioned, and I had a feeling it would be the first part to go. Now in my left shoe (where I have a bunion) there is a hole appearing in the fabric near that fold, and there is some separation with the toecap rubber. My right shoe is similarly beginning to form a hole in the same spot, to a lesser degree.

These shoes require winter in order to wear them. The shoes make my feet very hot. I’m sure this winter they will be fine.

I bought these as a multi functional shoe and they certainly fit the bill. One point to note is that the fitting is slightly on the big size compared to most Salomon trainers I have but apart from that they are rather good!

I bought my fifth pair of trail running shoes a month ago. The problem I had with the latest purchase is the "laces" are already fraying.

These are great shoes and the only reason I didn't 5 star them is I wish they made them in a wide. I appreciate the quick lace system pocket on the tongue as other shoes I have had in the past left it flopping around even when tucked. Very comfortable and I wear them daily.

I've been wearing these as my primary shoes for about a month now. biking to and from work in them, on my feet for 8 hours a day. Once they are on these feel solid to do just about anything I would ask of them. I have a longer arch and as a result, find a wider footbed more comfortable. The height of the tooth on the tread has not interfered with the mountain bike pedal studs on my bike (a problem I have found to be irritating with other trail type shoes) and the orientation of the lace storage system (the pocket on the tongue of the shoe opening from the top rather than from the bottom) which is a small feature in the grand scheme of things but makes a huge difference in daily use.
Overall this is a representation of impressive engineering and design supported by stellar execution. And I would like to add that I would not include this next part if I did not like the shoes enough to think that further iteration of the design could make them even better.
That being said, If I were to identify some areas for improvement; The main one would be that the inside on the tongue has begun to roll inward, creating a fold and pressing onto the top of the foot, very uncomfortable. Because of the design of the shoe, with the tongue being stitched to the body, adjusting this fold while wearing the shoe requires fishing in between the top of your foot and the "roof" of the shoe and trying to tuck the fabric back to where it should be. I think this is happening because when the untethered part of the tongue, possibly 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch after the stitching which joins the tongue to the body of the shoe gets worn (i.e. heats, cools, gets wet, drys out) the fabric softens up and loses structural rigidity resulting in it rolling back towards the point anchoring it into place.
I have also noticed that the rubber toggle on the lace has begun to slide out of place recently, not overly concerning but definitely of note. I liked the model so much that I bought the GTX version as well and they are great, however, they are genuinely very warm to wear as work shoes as they hold a great deal of heat especially noticeable if you are also wearing pants.

They're comfortable, but run slightly narrow and small. My main disappointment is the pictures of the "Bungee Cord / Phantom / Burnt Brick" looks like green/black/orange, when in fact it's more like light gray/black/orange. Bummed that their marketing photographs weren't true to the shoe's actual color.

Shoes were comfortable and performed well overall. But, they didn't last very long before becoming packed out and hard. The soles also wore down extremely fast compared to other Solomon shoes I have that have 6 time more miles on them. These shoes were done after just 6 months of normal wear, not even hard trail or street use.

I've had the show for a month or so and have done several hikes. Overall, it's a quality shoe but I should have ordered a side larger (11 instead of 10.5 - I did measure) as the toe area is tight with the hardened rubber covering it. Also, i had hoped it would be lighter. But again, a good shoe for trails.

The shoes arrived quickly and fit as expected. However, the speed lace system on the left shoe was somehow melted and didn't function properly in keeping the laces right, not to mention unsightly.

I bought these a couple weeks ago and I have been trying really hard to like them, but I don't. They look really cool, but I don't think they will hold up like their other models. I will say they are comfortable, all Salomon shoes are.
Where I think they won't hold up is the area near the ball of the foot is a weird plastic material over mesh. (See photo). This part of the shoe bunches up when I walk and also makes a "popping" sound. It is extremely annoying. I own 6 pairs of Salomon shoes and this is my least favorite and their my new ones, so I'll just have to deal with it.
They're also narrow, which is common for Salomon shoes.

I have purchased Salomons for 10 years and have been very happy with every pair, except the XA Wild. I had high hopes. My heel was all over the place and they were very tight (lengthwise and width-wise for a size 10, which is what I always wear in a Soloman. Putting them on is a chore as the rear of the shoe that sits behind the heal gets bunched up if when you put them on and you have to remove them, smooth it out and try again, holding the tab with one finger while you put them on. Just a troublesome shoe for me. The one thing going for them is they are a sharp-looking shoe.

I bought these to replace my beloved OUTLines after they wore out. I tried the regular XA v8 in the store and it felt super comfy. Then I bought these online, figuring they would keep my foot more secure. Boy was I wrong!
These turned out to be a real disappointment. The shoe is extremely rigid. If you want your feet to stay secure, you have to lace them tightly. I found that if I went uphill I had to loosen them so I wouldn't get blisters, then lace them tightly on the way down so my foot wouldn't slide around. Cushioning feels so rigid that it hurts to walk in these on sidewalks.
On my second big hike since I got them, the quick lace system broke through the lowest lug on one foot. The matching lug on the other side is nearly broken. How in the world did a design like this get approved?
Also, I got MASSIVE blisters, even though I wore them for a few weeks around town to start breaking them in. I've had more comfortable hiking boots, to say nothing of hiking shoes.
I love Solomon shoes - I gravitate to them for everything. But these were so disappointing that I'm considering looking elsewhere.

Front top right/left corner where rubber toe box meets the synthetic upper has a rough spot which, after 6 miles of walking, started a blister on top of my pinky toe finger. Sizing isn’t the issue. Also, the top synthetic material seams to stain easily from sweat. These shoes don’t breathe as well as I expected and can be a bit hot in the summer. The sole is quite tall so if you are short or avg these shoes are great but if you are tall they will make you quite a bit taller. The actual rubber tread is nice and grips well but isn’t very thick so i don’t believe it will last long especially if worn on paved surfaces. The biggest pro is the look. The shoes fit well even with casual work wear. I don’t recommend these shoes.

I bought these with the intention of using them for hiking and mountain biking, which is everyday wear, for me. I was disappointed, though. While these shoes are very light, the top material is inflexible and folds and unfolds with a loud "clunk" with every step. I sound like a flapper. I love the quick laces and the weight, but the noisy fit is so annoying I have moved on to different shoes.

Wanted to love, checked all the boxes. Trouble is, couple hours in as foot / sock gets a bit damp, the support frame/ system in the shoe really begins to rub against the arch in unpleasant ways. Maybe half size up with a thicker sock may have helped, but design just isn't right for me.

I bought this shoe about a month ago as a replacement for XA Pro 3D, which I have used for many years and owned many different pairs. While the same great fit and features are included, this shoe is not nearly as breathable as the other model. I'm actually hotter in this, than with my XA Pro 3D GTX.

This $130.00 shoe looked cheap and not worth the money I paid for it. It was difficult to get my high arched wide foot into the shoe give the style of shoe tongue lace covering.

These shoes are about two months old and have gone on about a half a dozen light hikes so far. They do bunch up around the ball of the foot as another reviewer has mentioned, and while annoying, it is not a deal killer for me. What is a deal killer is the fact that that bunched up area separated the shoe upper from the toe cap in such a short time. Coming from the x-ultra series of shoes three generations running, I switched to these because I like the look and wanted to give the xa pro style a try. Maybe this is the first gen of the shoe, and they need to tweak it a little. Nonetheless I have submitted a warranty claim and hope that I can maybe swap out this shoe for another in their line. The shoe overall seems like it could be great, they just need to fix their quality and design issues first.

I have had these shoes for less than 3 months and they are already trash!
The toe guard is separating from shoe, the narrow toe box has caused me feet to ache, and the tread is coming apart.
Any of these issues, after only 3 months, would be a deal breaker if not for the absolute worst part of these shoes which are the laces! They are so flimsy they have made these shoes unwearable because I can no longer keep them tight.
I have had to rob the laces out of my old speedcross 5's and painstaking try and salvage these xa wilds. This worked for a couple days before another part of the lace system broke leaving both shoes worthless! And you can't just use a regular shoe lace due to the quick tie system (which does a terrible job of keeping the shoes tight from day one).
I will never waist my money on another overpriced defective pair of Solomon's again! If you are considering a pair of Solomons I would strongly encourage you to reconsider!

I bought them in 2021. Just after 3 months of use they unstuck in front. I sent them for warranty and they repaired them.
No matter what i do (poly-socks, dry weather) I always have blisters after running in them.
What is more, last week quick lace system broke through the lowest lug on one foot.
I hope that warranty will replace them... Totally disapointed.
