I bought Salomon shoes before and they were kind of narrow and constricting on the top of my foot. A previous review said these fit like a “wide” size. I would agree that, if Salomon’s from years ago fit you, these will have a very roomy toebox. I love them—walked trails in CO right out of the box. New favorite shoes!

I have owned several pairs of XA Pro 3D GTX shoes as well as the non-GTX version, and love everything about them. This time my first color choice was not in stock, so I took a chance and ordered the "Ebony / Caramel Cafe / Black" version despite some of the product photos showing different colored accents on the shoes. The main product photo shows black stripes and accents on the soles, but several other photos show a hideous beige color for the stripes and sole accents. I presume that is the color they are calling Caramel Cafe. I had faith that no one would actually manufacture shoes with such a nauseating color combination and that the photos were a mistake. Luckily I was correct! My shoes arrived today without nauseating "Caramel Cafe" stripes! I suspect Salomon and its retailers would sell a lot more of this color combination if the description and erroneous product photos reflected the true colors. If anyone is interested, the shoes I received match the attached photo.

This is my 4th pair of Salomons. I love wearing these shoes, but the decreasing tread durability means they'll be my last pair that aren't from the Forces line. I bought these shoes in April because the Speecdross 5's I bought last August had lost most of their tread and were no longer stable to wear. Well here I am less than 8 months later and I'm essentially in the same boat. I'm a fireman and can't wear these on shift so realistically they only get worn 3 days a week. I love the way they feel, but a top of the line hiking shoe ought to last at least a year with consistent use and like I said I'm not wearing them daily and abusing them.

I purchased these in November 2022 and it is May 2023 they are Great shoes. Very comfortable. The only complaint that I have is the front toe box is a little tight where my pinky toe rubs very little. Believe they do sell them in wide but it was to loose around my foot. Did purchase two pairs. The other one solid black so I can wear during work.

Too narrow in the foot and toe box. Returning for a wider pair. Hopefully not wide in the heel. Generally really like Salomon footwear.

Why on earth is there exposed stitching in these especially in the heel area? Has anyone actually been able to run in these? I tried. Major design flaw. Super bummed! Please redesign these! I love the other shoes in this style that aren't made of Gortex- and they don't have any stitching in the heel area.

Hello, my previous Salomon shoes were the same as xa pro. I advise. I had another brand of shoes and the sides were torn. Even though it was a factory defect, they did not replace it. I congratulate and thank Salomon.

Bought similar shoe from Salomon before, they are very comfortable to walk in regardless of terrain, really good grip and the Gore-Tex is worthwhile having, especially when its wet. I'd certainly recommend, but I always have to get the wide fit size 10, despite have a narrow size 9 foot.

I bought wide fit for trekking 3 weeks ago. I had them on for a couple of mountains. Best shoes ever. Perfectly fit and very comfortable. Feels like my feet are in a soft bag.

This is my fifth pair of Salomon shoes. Need I say more? They are comfortable, waterproof and work as walking shoes, for light hiking or before and after ski shoes. I will buy them again when these are worn out.

First purchase with broader fit and super comfy. Completely dry for dog walks and smart enough to wear to the office. Subtle and discreet for a pensioner with some life left!

I'm in the motorsports industry as a car chief/lead mechanic/builder, and I discovered the version 8 a couple years ago and I am now on my 5th pair this time with the v9 goretex. I won't wear anything else. I abuse these things 7 days a week. I've owned a ton of race crew type shoes over the last 28 years and these are by far the best.

Solomon XA's are my go to shoes for outdoor use every day. I have several pair and have hiked with them from Antartica to the Arctic, in the Swiss Alps, and the high Sierras - I have tried others and there are none better than my Solomon XAs. Unparalled comfort and stability while remaining warm and dry.

I don't have a wide foot but so many of the other brands of performance hiking shoes I've worn are very narrow and don't offer a wide version. This V9 Wide continues the fit of the V8s that I have come to love. The 3D chassis is solid and controls my pronation with pronation control being hard to find in other brands these days. they hold up to my hard use. They also have great traction and I like the quick lacing system. These will be my forever shoes so long as upcoming V10s, V11s etc have the same fit....

This is my fifth pair of similar Salomon shoes I've had since 2008 when I bought my first pair to hike the Tiger Leaping Gorge trail in China. I like these shoes because of their fit, design, ease of use and quality materials.

Originally purchased the pulse. Started leaking after a 2 months. I have owned multiple Pro class runners by Soloman and North Face. The bladder system in the Soloman Pro has kept my feet dry through the life of the shoe.

This is my third pair of these shoes over the last 6 years. I work outside and often in wet conditions. I expect shoes given the grind I put them through to last 12 months before replacing them. These Salomon’s routinely last 18 to 24 months and will keep buying them as long as they make them. These shoes are well worth the money.

I recently purchased the Salomon XA PRO 3D V9 GORE-TEX trail running shoes, and I can confidently say that they have exceeded all my expectations. Right from the moment I put them on, I could feel the quality craftsmanship and attention to detail that set Salomon apart.
The GORE-TEX technology in these shoes is a game-changer, as it prevents my feet from getting wet during unexpected rain showers or while traversing muddy trails. The waterproof and breathable membrane keeps my feet dry while allowing them to breathe, ensuring optimal comfort in different weather conditions.
The 3D Advanced Chassis provides exceptional stability and support, making these shoes perfect for challenging terrains. I always felt confident and secure with every step, thanks to the excellent traction offered by the Contagrip outsole. Whether I was navigating rocky paths or slippery surfaces, the XA PRO 3D V9 delivered a reliable grip, preventing any slips.
What sets these shoes apart is their versatility. Although designed with trail running in mind, they are equally well-suited for hiking and casual walks. The Sensifit technology ensures a snug and customised fit, eliminating discomfort or pressure points. The Quicklace system is convenient, allowing me to quickly and securely lace up and take off the shoes.
The durability of these shoes is impressive. The high-quality materials and robust construction make them stand up to the rigours of intense outdoor activities. After several weeks of use, there is minimal wear and tear, a testament to Salomon's commitment to producing long-lasting and reliable footwear.
In terms of aesthetics, the XA PRO 3D V9 boasts a sleek and modern design. The variety of colour options allows for personalisation, making the overall look functional and stylish.
In conclusion, the Salomon XA PRO 3D V9 GORE-TEX is a top-tier trail running shoe that delivers on its promises. Whether you're an avid trail runner, hiker, or someone who enjoys the outdoors, these shoes provide the comfort, stability, and durability needed for a positive and enjoyable experience. Salomon has again set the bar high with this outstanding footwear, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow outdoor enthusiasts.
