I’ve been wearing Merrell’s for years because they make the best minimalist shoes that suit my style and they’ve always fit perfectly. These new ones are reminiscent of my old Adidas, but far more comfortable. I’ve only had them for a few days, but I’ve been wearing them constantly because they’re so comfortable I forget to take them off. They seem like they will hold up better than my previous Merrell’s since they’re full grain leather instead of the mesh stuff my previous ones were made from. Most of the complaints from other reviewers sound like they’re from people not expecting a minimalist shoe—this is a minimalist shoe; please do yourself a favor and research it a bit before just buying a pair. In short, it’s the best protection for your foot without changing the feeling of being barefoot or in socks. These are more supportive than most of the minimalist shoes I’ve had, but they don’t take it too far. They also don’t smell yet; I expected them to by now, lol. They seem like a good all around shoe.

Used to run in the trail glove, but developed a sizing issue Merrell doesn't make half sizes after 12. So I was happy to hear that the V5 is a bit more length. The leather and Build quality of this iteration make it the perfect casual shoe for someone looking for toe splay and still looks good enough to wear to the office on casual days. All of the trail gloves seem to have substantial arch compared to say, the Vapor, but it works for me. In fact, I just ordered a second pair in black. Typically, i'm a size 11.5 street shoe, 12.5 running shoe, and sz. 12 in the V5 glove is working out great.

I have a pair trail glove 4s They fit perfectly. These leather trail glove 5s do not fit. I cannot tighten them enough to keep from feeling my feet are sliding around inside them, even with thicker socks.

I have thus far found this shoe the best of the Trail Glove series for go-to outdoor use. I did not find the extra sole thickness problematic. The standard variety of Trail Gloves 4 and 5 develop significant faults within a few weeks of use. The leather version has retained its integrity completely after five months of regular use. I wear them for everything except jumping rope, for which I always wear already worn out shoes.

I bought these for my husband for his birthday. He says they are so comfortable, they are his favorite shoe. They look so cool as well.

Is better for colder weather than the regular trail glove. Also keeps my feet dry in rain and slush.

solid shoe with the traditional TG properties. Ive used on hikes and is a great middle ground before a full on hiker. Feel like pretty decent quality after a year of use intermittently . The sole seems more solid than the regular TG which i like. I wouldn't run in these though.

So far the fit and feel are perfect, other than not feeling rocks it feels as if in not wearing shoes. have yet to do anything adventurous in them but from wearing them day to day i know they will preform very well.

I highly highly enjoy trail running in the TG5! They are not as minimalist as prior Trail Gloves but I personally prefer that. I ran in the 3's and liked them just fine, but I like the little extra padding and slight arch on the inner part of the foot more. And this particular style is 100% my vibe and wear these out and about occasionally.

While this is not a true barefoot, it still has no cushion, no drop, and being leather it is stiffer and heavier making it more of a barefoot casual shoe rather than a running shoe. This shoe allowed me to have a barefoot option for going out with friends without having to continually wear down my TG4's which I use for running. If you are trying to get into barefoot shoes then look no further

They seem to be very nice and comfy, I'm using them as flight shoes while I learn to fly. I'm 197 cm (6'5") and airplane cockpits are tight, so every bit of leg room is vital. I have a pair of summer barefoot shoes from another company, and these seem much better made.

Finally a leather version of this shoe. I've always liked the Trail Gloves, but durability has always been an issue. I'm hoping the leather will last as long as the sole now.

I love Merrell shoes for hiking and for working out - in my opinion the trail glove shoes are more flexible that the Reebox nano shoes, but have a better sturdier base than many on the Inov-8 shoes, making them an excellent gym shoe, particularly for HIIT workouts where you do both cardio and weight lifting. They may be a tad stiff for running, at least until they are broken in. I have multiple pairs of the trail glove shoes and bought the leather ones so that I could have a nicer pair that would also double as a casual work shoe on trips (otherwise you end up with too many shoes in your luggage). They have a stiff enough sole that they can be used for biking in a pinch (although my favorite shoe for biking is one that Merrell quit making). I have another pair of Trail glove shoes that are exclusively for the gym.

You've done it Merrell, this is it. I've worn Merrell for 25 years. I've owned over 20 pair and have several in my rotation now. This is the shoe I've always been looking for. I love the sole, I love the look, I love the fit, I love the low profile. I love the durability and quality. I love the leather. I love the Vibram, I could go on and on. This is the brilliant culmination of all the amazing Merrell features I look for in an everyday shoe.

They fit, they have high arch support(did not expect in a minimalist), I like them.
I don't run when chased, but I do wear them daily now.

I have been looking for a good pair of light hiking shoes for awhile. A friend recommended Merrill; I did some research and bought the Trail Glove shoes. After a very short break-in, they fit perfectly and are light and comfortable. This shoe is worth the price.
Shipping was fast and efficient.

I bought this shoe looking for something I could just walk around in, but also take to the trails. I have done both.
I would have to say this is an excellent rocky trail shoe. The grip is amazing. I haven't used it on much wet surfaces, but on dry sharp rocks. the grip is excellent and though the shoe fits almost like a barefoot shoe, you wouldn't know you were on rock.
The first pair of shoes I have wanted to wear without socks.

I love this trail glove. The leather is great, and the suede on the toecap gives it a vintage retro look. It can dress up or down. Fits me perfectly, though I did size down half size.

I've been a fan for about 5 years now with the trail glove series. I use them for work and out and about plus walking to work each day. The leather has been more durable for the most part and will continue to buy! The size as expected only comes from knowing that they run a 1/2 size large, I've had to send a few back.
