Bought these boots knowing I would absolutely abuse them to turkey and grouse hunt with in the Appalachian mountains as well as some general leisure trail hiking. I prefer hiking boots to hunt with here as you have to cover a lot of ground and drop off the trails the majority of the time. Fit ran about as expected for a boot. Just a smidge bigger than your tennis shoe size
I love the comfort and especially how light weight the boots are. I needed the waterproof version as you rarely have time avoid puddles and runoffs when positioning on a hot gobbler or running to a pointed ruffed grouse. My only complaint is I don't feel they are nearly as breathable as my leather hikers from Danner. Seems like I have a lot more foot sweat and moisture. I love the stylish look and am more than happy to trade breathable boots superior comfort and light weight. I am concerned about how long these boots with last in this tough terrain, but time will tell. So far so good.

Very thin around the arch which made the shoe feel like it had an extremely high arch. Unfortunately not available in wide and currently not in size 13 so these are going to have to be returned

Very comfortable and light, sadly not a durable off trail hiker, soles are sofe and treads wear quickly over rocks and harsher terrain but Merrell is super responsive and got me Into a pair of MQM Flex Luna Mid GORE-TEX Filson and I'm beyond happy with that boot

I bought the shoe for hiking and working outside around the house and was great until I would get in any damp environment. Would not buy again

I purchased these to replace some extremely worn out boots I had been using for trail maintenance. I was looking for something decently lightweight, with exceptional grip for crossing rock slabs that get greasy when it rains, and being waterproof for when larger puddles are encountered, as well as looking a bit cooler than your standard hiking boot. The specific use case entails walking hiking trails, maintaining passable hiking conditions, as well as working to remove downed trees from trails. I don't carry a lot of extra weight, only basic hand tools and water, and am not carrying camping gear. After my first trip, which was less than 8 miles, some of the lugs have already detached. The terrain is mostly hard packed trail, with small portions of rock, and small portions of mud. I never did lose traction, so I guess that's something. But if the sole continues to deteriorate at this rate (I actually anticipate it will accelerate), these boots will have none of these lugs after about 500 miles. Not really impressed at all with the durability of these boots.

Just bought this boot two days ago and hiked Long's Peak in Esters Park CO today. The comfort is great! Felt great for a long and grueling hike. Butttttt! Big warning to everyone! The traction going down was the worst I've ever had with any Marrell Boot, and to be be fair I love Marrells! I've owed many style and never had such a problem. The traction was so bad that I slipped and smashed my legs and arms up more in this hike then all others put together. People in my party even commented about it, which is strange for me. Furthermore, when the got even the slightest bit it moisture on them it was like walking in ice. Genuinely the first time I've been worried coming off a mountain. I'll update my post of Marrell reaches out to make this right. Which I truly hope they do, or this experience will have lost my fait in their brand.

It's like a slip and slide when the boots contact a wet surface. Super comfortable, can wear them all day, but I have zero trust that my feet will stay put when in less-than-ideal conditions

My previous Merrell waterproof hiking boot was awesome and got a solid 5 years off it and was looking for a new hiking shoe. At first I loved this shoe but it's been less than 5 months and I've used the shoe less than ten times (since I've been using it for hikes) and the shoe leaks! Not waterproof and now it's past the 60 day warranty but clearly this is not a well made product. I will update if Merrell reaches out to fix this issue but just really disappointed. I've recommended this shoe to several of my family and friends after the initial few times of wearing it since it reminded me of my previous shoe but now I have to go back and tell them all to not buy this.

i'm in pennsylvania. pennsylvania trails are rocky. those rocks are constantly damp/wet. merrell claims these boots will keep one "sure-footed". i buy them. i hike. i slip on every rock i step on. i write review calling them ice skates in summary. review never gets posted. why? original wording: "comfort doesn't make up for slipping on every rock i step on."

I purchased both the mid and low versions of this boot with high expectations but have been let down by one major factor: traction. I have never slipped around more than I have in these boots. Its a real shame because they are light and comfortable but unfortunately I can't wear them. Probably fine if you only hike in dry conditions but here in the PNW I can't afford to slip around all the time. I thought maybe there was just some sort of coating used to make the new boots look good but after 30+ miles on each pair of boots, I can't do it anymore. Back to my 5-year old boots for now.

Upon receiving my first order the right boot had a large fabric bump over the right big toe. Customer service exchanged them out. New pair arrived, same defect! Not sure what happens between the left boot and right boot, but the left had no defects. I asked for a third pair to be sent, but was told "The system doesn't support another exchange". Left boot was really comfortable, too bad I have to shop for another brand now.
