Purchased these because it appears I can no longer purchase the old model of give-n-go sport mesh hipsters. I was disappointed receiving these because the waistband is now the thick tight, restricting kind of elastic, not the thinner more comfortable kind of the old hipsters. Also, the leg openings on these show the WORST panty lines. I loved the old ones because they were one of the only athletic underwear I could find that didn't show super obvious panty lines (and stayed in place) because they had wider, softer leg seams that lay flat on your skin as opposed to these smaller tighter seams that cut in instead of laying flat. Hope that makes sense? But I was so bummed by these new hipsters... I really hope they can bring back the old kind. I gave two stars instead of one because the main fabric ("sport mesh") was still nice.

These Give-n-Go Hipsters are very comfortable. And let you breathe! But I'd have to say the sizes are off! I got a small and they were huge!! They fit like a large or extra large! With the sizes how they are I'm not sure I would spend the money these cost!

Exposed elastic is a no-no for so many people, me included, makes me itch and leaves marks. I loved how there was no elastic on the original sport hipkinis, it wasn't necessary bought them for years and they were all I wore. A bonus was that they looked more polished, less like underwear without the elastic, and could pass for boyshort swim bottoms in a pinch (like when hiking to a hot spring or swimming hole). I am not happy with the change!! These new ones just suck!!

I didn't want to agree with the other one star reviews but I'm one of those who has a bunch of original pairs and when I needed to restock was disappointed by the changes. I can handle the change in fabric and waistband. My issue is with the elastic around the legs. The stitching on the new pairs seem to have a scratchier thread or the lack of soft binding (like on the old pairs) causes chafing on me. I wish ExOfficio would have a "you asked so we brought back the originals" moment.

I'm really sorry to see these have been changed. I was ready to order them to replace my old ones. I can see just from the model that the waist and leg openings are tighter and the bottom smaller. The reviews confirm this. Now I'll have to look elsewhere!

Was looking to replace my hipkini's until I read the reviews that said they're not the same anymore. These were my absolute favorite so I'm very disappointed u changed them. Why wouldn't u bring back the originals if so many reviews say how much better they were!!!

Another distraught longtime devotee of the original Hipkinis... I ordered 10 of these to replace my worn stash of undies, but I'll be returning them all. I'm so sad that the originals don't exist anymore because these are just not the same. The waist band is tighter and less comfortable. The material is different and thinner and not as good as the original. The leg bands are also thinner and less comfortable -they dig into your legs and also don't hold as well, so they ride up. The original hipkinis were literally PERFECT - the only underwear I have ever had that actually covered my whole butt and didn't ride up, and the elastic and original material was perfect. PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL HIPKINIS!!!

I did not know you changed the fabric. My panty liners do not adhere to the new fabric. I purchased two pairs and I cannot wear them nor has ExOfficio offered me a refund or anything.

Why do companies change such a stellar item for the worse??? Been wearing these underwear the last few years as a replacement for Patagonia underwear that no longer fit well, and now Ex Officio has ruined theirs as well. The old ones were perfect - comfy, soft, no wedgies. As many other reviewers have said, the new version has a thick, somewhat scratchy elastic waistband that is nowhere near as comfy as the old soft fabric. AND the waistband is a good 2 inches longer from one end to the other (so 4 inches longer in circumference) than my old pairs of the same size. I guess it's needed because the new fabric has very little give to it and would be too constricting if it was a small as the old ones, which is disappointing. One thing I loved about the old underwear was that I literally could not feel them on thanks to the soft, thin fabric and no restrictive elastic. Please go back to the old version, Ex Officio!

The new band is incredibly restricting and the fit is not a hipster fit anymore. Much prefer the old version better!

The original sport mesh hipster was my Holy grail underwear. Stayed put, didn't dig in anywhere, a dream to backpack and travel with. I was so excited for the new version and it's an absolute miss. Waistband is very tight, fit is just off completely. The actual material of the underwear seems light and breathable but the fit was so uncomfortable I'll never know.

Sizing and fit of material are way off. These used to be the best travel underwear but not any more. All four pairs i ordered don't fit as they historically have.

I ordered several of this style and had to return them all. They were absolutely huge. Nothing comparable to other ExO styles. Very disappointed.

Please bring back the original design. Those were the BEST undies I have ever owned. I now only have one pair of the old and use them sparingly so they will keep for a long time. Please bring back the old design. It was a much better fit!

Unfortunately someone, probably a Millennial in marketing, was given authority to tamper with a good thing. Wake up, ExOfficio! Today's model bears no resemblance to the excellent design available in 2016. The 8-10 pairs I purchased then are still worn daily and are still 5-star in every respect.

Sad to say I'm not a fan of the changes - the different material, different waistband, different shape. I used to LOVE, now I'm looking for a new brand of underwear.

The product I received was different than the one pictured. I had previously purchased this product and liked it so I bought more but I received old inventory.
