I love Birkenstock sandals, especially the Arizona. I've worn the two strap Arizona sandals for many years. When I saw the Lugano I really liked the style and made the purchase. As with all Birkenstocks, these are made extremely well and fit well as always. However, they don't feel as secure on your feet as the two strap Arizona. Instead, they fit more like flip flops. I love the look and the style of these Lugano sandals and I would've kept these had they fit more secure like the Arizonas do. Unfortunately, I had to return them.

The look of the Birkenstock Lugano is awesome. However, the design of the sandals was made for people with fatter feet. My feet are athlete and slim. I pulled the strap to the last hole and it's still a little loose. The length is fine, the width is spot on but not the strap. I know if I order one size smaller (from 43 to 42), it'll be too small for me. I could keep it and add additional holes to the straps, I have a leather hole-making tools here at home.

These are really nice.. If you have a high instep the top strap is nice and high and I didn't have to punch an extra hole to let the strap out as I usually do. I like very much how your foot feels gently "wrapped" in them .. unlike Arizona where you feel nicely banded...

The Arizona hits across the top of my foot in an uncomfortable way... these? No discomfort as they cross over further down. Love ‘em!

Great sandal. And as always, Zappos is my go-to for shoe purchases. However, with the Lugano Birkenstock I had some frustrations re :size. I’ve had to return three pair for being too large. I wear a US size 11 in Brooks, Saucony, ASICS, Nike, Adidas, etc. These were supposedly “true to size”. So I ordered a size 11-11.5. Huge. Then a 10-10.5. Big. Then a 9-9.5. Still about 1/4-1/2” too long according to the Birkenstock sizing recommendations (as far as where your heel and toes should be in relation to sandal overall size). So I’ve had to return all three and the next size down is not available. I don’t know if this is a Birkenstock thing, or an EU sizing thing, or whatever, but my advice to others is ordering at least a size down to start, if not two.

What can I say, not the first pair of berks I’ve ever had. The sizing can be confusing, if you don’t know. Here’s some advice male size for 10- 10.5 it says get the eu 43, they will be too big. Get the eu 42. Not joking. when looking at berks in France I tried on a pair from their sizing chart, it said 43, too big. They pulled out a 42 and it fit perfect. So when I bought this pair, I ordered a eu 42 and as well I was not surprised. It fit perfect.

I have wide, flat feet so the original has always been my favorite and I could never make any other style work. This is the first pair of Birks other than the original style that work and I LOVE them. They cover the top of my foot comfortably and are super cute.

I love how these Lugano look and the iron oiled leather was a great color and so soft but the smallest size offered is 42 and they were just too long. Super sad that they don't come in smaller sizes but for anyone whose foot is the proper size, I would recommend these Birkenstock. Zappos as usual has amazing service and super fast shipping even during this Coronavirus time. Thank you Zappos.

Straps do not hold foot secure in sandal...more like a beach sandal. I would typically give a Berks sandal a 5 but can't on this one. Would not buy again.

First pair of new Birkis in quite some time. The leather is a bit stiff and will take a little breaking in but I’m fairly certain they will be great once broken in.

Not super good shoes for walking a lot. But they are great to stand around in and really cool looking.

bought them for my husband - we had to return the first pair, fitting too small, and order a size up. He loves tem!

GReat choice if you’re looking for something a little different from the typical Birkenstocks. Same comfortable fit with a little twist.

Best brand i have ever used

Runs big. Difficult to hold onto your feet. Ridge under toes is painful if the shoe doesn’t fit just right. Very cute though ?

Bought these because Birkenstock discontinued the Zurich style. These work.

These apparently do not come in narrow and the regular width feels quite loose if you have a more narrow foot (as compared to Arizona or any with a higher cross strap)
