The Encore Breeze 4 is everything the Encore Breeze 3 was and more! They’re straight out of the box comfortable. Nice round toe with lots of space for fussy feet and toes. The heel support is much better too. Awesome arch support and softer soles than the Q2. Sizing is true to size. It doesn’t get any better than this. I have been wearing Merrells for many years. First the Encore Breeze and loved that. Then the Encore Breeze 2 and loved that. Then the Encore Breeze 3 and loved that. Then they totally changed the shoe in the Encore Q2 and I missed my old Encore Breeze 3 so much. Now they’re back in the form of Encore Breeze 4!!! Thank you Merrell!! And thank you Zappos for carrying these shoes.

I have been wearing the Merrell 3 for years. Ordered Merrell 4. They are terrible. Do not fit. The part that your heal goes into is 1/2 inch shorter. Very uncomfortable. I don't know why they have to make changes when something is good to something that is bad. I am sending them back. Color is gray not tan as in the picture

I do not feel that Merrell solved the heel problem. I tried both the Encore 2 and this one and the heel is not high enough to keep your foot in the shoe. Too bad ....Merrell please go back to the original shoe design.

I had worn a model of these years ago, and wore them until they were worn out. They were amazing. These are way different. There's just nothing to them, very light, which is good in hot weather, but they just didn't feel like they gave any real support, and they just smelled of bad chemicals/plastic. They are obviously not leather at all, but they smelled up my whole closet. And I wore them in my bedroom for a moment, and they just felt kind of hot and scratchy on my feet. So returning these. I think if you were going to wear your own arches in them they might be better, but

Initially I thought the sizing was good. I usually wear a 9 1/2 or 10 and ordered these in a 10. After wearing these around the house for about half an hour though, they stretched out and are now too large and wide. Based on this, I would suggest that if you wear two sizes that you order the smaller of the two.

I use the Merrell Encore Breeze 4 for slippers. This version has a rounder toe and is tad wider. I usually wear a wide or 2X wide, this is the only shoe I wear a regular. Had my old Merrell for so long I don't recall the version. I like the newer more rounded toe. As always with Zappos, easy to exchange In the pictures: new = aluminum old = black. Merrell is still a great brand and hold up very well.

Finally found them in a 9 wide again. I should be an 8.5 wide. Last pair from like 12 years ago is worn down on heels and second liner shredded. These are my go-to every day kick on footwear around the house and light shopping during the cooler months. Instep band can get tight with socks on- both old and new. Prefer something other than black or white in a wide too.

I was very disappointed to see that Merrell redesigned the Encore Breeze 4. Now the heal back is cut lower, the arch support is lower and the inside padding is thinner. Cutting corners to save money doesn't make for good relations with loyal customers.

I am so upset these are not the same Merrell's I have had in the past. The outer soles are a different material then the older versions and they are not as comfortable. I used to put on my old Merrell's and my feet used to feel so much better. I wear these and my feet and legs bother me. I didn't mind spending the money on them because I thought they were like my old ones. I can't return them because I wore them outside. I will not be buying Merrell's anymore.

Not happy with what they've done to my Merrill Encore Breeze! Toe box more narrow and heel cup not near as deep. I could put up with the heel cup, but not the toe box. Even with thin socks, they were too tight. Don't know if I want to try a wide in these. I've never need a wide in any Merrills.

These are very comfortable, walking shoes with support. Though open, because of the fit, they don't slip at all. These shoes have excellent at home and outdoor comfort.

Most comfortable shoe I’ve ever owned in my 62 years on Earth! I have not only osteoarthritis in my feet, but also neuropathy, which flares from time to time, causing great pain with the bottom of my feet turning a deep red. The condition resulted from chemotherapy 16 years ago that permanently damaged some nerves. Shoe support is, therefore, paramount to keeping the condition at bay. The Encore Breeze 4 Wide Width shoe is a godsend. I get instant relief when I put them on. They provide great support in all the areas I need it, and the wide width provides ample room for my feet to “stretch out”. Sizing feels spot on in the 9W. There’s one big downside to this shoe, however, and that is the odor that these shoes emit when they are new. It’s very strong and offensive! It really takes you aback when you open the box. The shoes have to be aired outside for several days just to make them bearable. Over time, thankfully, the odor dissipates enough to where you don’t notice it while wearing the shoes. It smells like a petroleum product-based odor. My husband, who has worked in the oilfield for many years, agrees. Others have complained about the smell, as well, some even saying it made them sick. As strong as the odor is, I can understand how that would happen. It’s quite unacceptable. It smells so strongly that to me, it is borderline toxic. I’d love to see an organization like the EPA do some testing on it. I assume the material brought the cost of making this shoe down. Still, Merrell needs to stop using this new material immediately and go back to the previous materials used for the Breeze 4. I knocked off one star because of the problem.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. THESE FEEL LIKE AN IMITATION MERRELL. I've been wearing the QFORM clogs for years and felt they were an integral part of my shoe wardrobe. These (black) have HARD plastic feeling soles. The collar which used to continue to top of arch (on skin side) does not plus seam from lining rides on top of foot. I guess my Merrell days are over.

BAH HUMBUG! The shoe is good quality. Great support and the sole is excellent. HOWEVER, as others have said, this version is a real bummer. I was hoping others were being fussy, but NO-they are right on. The heel cup is lowered to the point where this is not the same shoe. It's my fourth pair over the years, and the first that I will be returning. It's seemingly a small difference in how the heel is made, but it makes a HUGE difference in comfort and support. I have worn this shoe for years as a summer camp nurse, and it's no longer the secure shoe I need because the heel flips and flops. PLEASE, Merrell, go back to the earlier versions. Don't fix what ain't broken!

I have worn a very similar model of Merrell before and loved it. I believe I recall being able to wear it with a not heavy sock. This shoe is too tight on the top, over the arch of the foot. It is long enough, has toe room, but is tight over the arch. Since I have several recently broken metatarsals in one foot, that definitely does not work for me. I have a narrow foot and bought medium, so that shouldn't be the problem. I'm sorry to have to return it.

The color is great and fit is as expected. I have had many pairs of these slides so knew well what I was ordering. Unfortunately, the chemical / rubber smell of these is overpowering, even after a couple weeks in the garage to air out. I hate to send them back, but have no choice; they are not wearable.

I bought these as house shoes where I can insert my 3/4 orthotics and comfortably go about chores with support. Perfect for this and the soles do not leave skid marks on hardwood floors. Could have gone a 1/2 size down, but with mid-weight socks all good. My foot is a B-width on the narrower side and I found the Breeze 4 to be just right. A mesh upper, so flexible. I don't think shoes like this have "style"; that quality is in the eye of the be-wearer.

Lightweight and comfortable, these are my go-to dog walking, mail fetching, errand running shoes. Normally I wear a 9.5 or 10 medium shoe and returned the size 10 for a 9.5 which is a perfect fit for me in this style. The very big bummer with these shoes is the resulting, very pronounced foot odor and the thin, poorly made removable insoles. Not only do these shoes cause my feet to perspire and hold undesirable foot odor - which has never been an issue for me with shoes (other than Skechers Go Walk) - but the thin fabric on the top of the insole has peeled off after just a few weeks of wearing them. If not for the major odor issue I’d have purchased these in every color for their exceptional comfort, fit, versatility and ease of putting them on/off. They are easy to clean... but not easy to deodorize. I have replaced the insoles twice already. I sure do wish that I could find good replacement insoles that were specifically designed and contoured to fit these Merrells and that didn’t cause stinky feet.

I ordered and returned these shoes, then reordered and returned the second pair of these Merrill shoes. They both had an unacceptable odor to them. The first pair I returned I tried airing them out inside and outside on my deck, I washed them and applied odor removing spray, none or which dimished the smell. The second pair I received had the same problem. I only removed one from the box and immediately returned it to the box and called Zappos for a return label. I really like these shoes. I've had a pair for 4+ years that I wear almost all the time and love the fit and feel of them. I didn't want to order a third pair for fear of the same problem. The Merrill Q2 Ice fit great with no odor and I can't wait for next winter to wear them.

I have an impossible time finding shoes that fit. With bunions and r/a Sketchers where my go to. I tried these and the most comfortable shoes I ever had. They do run a tad big .. surprise! I a 10 W buying another pair and going for the 9-1/2 W let’s see. I hope it’s not a mistake but I love these. I wish they came in suede.

I almost gave the Encore 4 an overall score of 2 stars because the heel is about 1/4 inch lower than my old pair. One quarter inch might not seem like a big deal, but it was instantly apparent when you tried on the shoe. You don't feel as secure wearing this version as the previous styles. Merrell, please go back to your older Encore Breeze version!!

these encore breeze 4 clogs seem to return to the excellent breeze editions of yesteryear. Hooray. and the objectionable chemical odor of the last few years seems to have been eliminated. I used to buy breeze style in multiple colors for travel until the odor and fit changed. MERRELL! I'MBACK! A nice dark lipstick red would be nice. Thanks

Perfect for slipping on to walk the dog around the block. Comfortable with good support. Perfect fit. Might be too narrow for wide feet because they're perfect for my narrow feet.
