Recently received my pack. I took advantage of the Christmas sales. When I received the pack, I noticed to yoke was the wrong size and immediately called to get the right sized yoke. Customer service immediately dealt with issue and I received a new yoke in a couple of days. I love the fact that the zippers are already sealed. I will be carrying the terraframe next year on the AT so quality is the most important thing. Thats why I bought a mystery ranch product

Bought this pack Summer of '22 to use for backpacking and hunting trips. Have taken it on several backpacking trips and used it to pack out a cow elk last year and it performed flawlessly. Could not say enough great things about this pack. I damaged the pack leading up to an elk hunt this fall (through user error and no fault in design). Contacted Mystery Ranch and they rushed to get it repaired and back to me in time for my hunt. A few days after receiving the repaired pack I got to use it to pack out my first bull elk. Can not thank the repair team enough for going out of their way to ensure I had it when I needed it the most!

As a professional, fire fighter, I rely on mystery ranch, and have never been let down. As an outdoor enthusiast, I have been extremely pleased with their outdoor line and its durability, versatility and extensive features. I highly recommend this product for those that find them selves out in the wild hiking in an overload packed situation. Weather be caring the kids extra gear.

Bought the Terraframe 65 to use on my Mountain Search and Rescue Team. Most of the team uses Osprey, Gregory, etc, but one of the guys has a MR pack and highly recommended it. I picked the Terraframe because of the additional load carrying capability. We not only carry our packs filled with our personal gear, but we also have to carry medical equipment, technical rescue equipment, and other random gear. Rather than carry this extra gear by hand, I thought it might be great to carry it with the load carrying feature of this pack. So far, I have been verry impressed. The material seems like it will stand up to all the branches, twigs, rocks, and brush it'll rub up against and I like that there aren't a ton of outside pockets to snag on branches. I did add a couple of forager packs and a water bottle holder to add to the hip belt though just to have easy access for my phone, compass, etc. (FYI - although a problem on some packs, I am able to reach around and access my water bottle in the main pockets on the pack itself. Placing it back in one handed is kind of challenging though because of the elastic.) The hip belt is fantastic and really carries the weight well. I also like the ability to zip open the pack to grab something at the bottom vs digging from the top. I'm so impressed with the quality that I am about to order the Catalyst as an EDC for work.

Upgraded from the Terraframe 50 and have zero regrets. This pack does everything so well. Being able to convert it into a smaller day pack is handy. The external zipper pockets are a welcomed feature as well. If you are on the fence about this or the 50, go with this.

Got the pack and broke it in on a 4x day backpacking trip. The pack easily handled 40-45 lbs in varied terrain over 10-15 mile distances. No major discomfort after some initial saddle adjustments. Hip belt made it easy to attach bear spray or other accessories you need quick access to. While I did not have an opportunity to use the unique frame option it is also a great place to store flat items without using any space inside of the main pack. Mystery Ranch never disappoints.

I did my first overnight trip with this pack and was impressed. I intentionally brought extra stuff to test the suspension and the load felt great on my back. The outside pockets are the right size for convenience. The pack is well built as advertised.

I had tried the Terraframe 65 on while visiting an outdoors shop in Fredericksburg, VA, and immediately knew it was high quality and loved the way it fit. After nearly two decades of service in the USMC I could tell that the way it sat just above my hips that I could load this thing up and it would remain comfortable no matter the weight carried. In fact, I liked it so much that I bought the Terraframe 65 for backpacking trips with my wife and the Terraframe 50 just to keep loaded with weight in my office to hike around the trails of Marine Corps Base Quantico for training. The frame is sturdy but flexible, which adds to the comfort. I generally purchase things in black but decided to go with the Deep Sea color for the 65 and I'm glad I did -- the pictures don't do the color justice -- it looks sharp. I can't wait to take this thing on some thru-hikes in the future!

I have been a professional guide since 2005. I guide in the peaks of Nepal and find myself frequently carrying two packs. I had to custom make my summit pack so it could breakdown and fit in my larger backpack. I had to use a 90L haul bag so I could fit all my stuff in there for base camp and also for high camps. Now I can place my summit pack and tent right behind the game and carry my base camp gear inside the pack itself. This pack is crazy durable. I rarely spend $$ on gear but in this case it is totally worth it. I will still be using this pack in 10 years.

I've used this pack a few times and am increasingly impressed by its functionality and comfort. It's built with heavy duty material and has the feel of a product that will last the test of time. The pack rides comfortably regardless of how much I have loaded into it. I'm grateful for the quality and excited to get out and about this winter! Keep up the great work Mystery Ranch!

This is a great backpacking pack - I get a lot of attention out in the field asking what brand I carry. I could put all my bear canisters in the load-up portion and have all the room for my important stuff. This thing is sturdy. It is on the heavier side of a backpack, but if you're planning to carry more stuff for your family, this is the pack you want.

I got this pack the week before a multi-day hike, camp, summit trip. Out of the box it was a simple fit. I debated on the Bridger but the OverLoad function is a feature I feel opens this pack to so much more. I was not packing in the world but I had room for it. I liked the main compartment was just that - a large space for my stuff. No little zipper compartments that are impossible to use when full. The outside cylinder pockets are great for pot/stove/fuel, first aid and TP (those things you want easy access too). The elastic side pockets broke in quickly for my water bottles. This pack rode fantastic. On summit day, I pulled the straps as tight as I could making it a large day pack but with the frame it felt great. I did try the head as a day pack for a quick side hike from base camp. Personally it was not what I was looking for in a day pack BUT it did work. It fit 2 water bottles and some odds and ends. Using the yoke off the pack did work. There is no toggle to hang a hydration bladder inside but due to size it may sit just fine (did not try it so will not judge). I feel the straps were a tad short when you loosened it because they pulled through the loop on the hill. I needed more water and food for the summit so I did not choose this as my day pack but it would work for some activities. I still give this 5 stars even with the day pack head things because it would still work. Buying the TerraFrame65 was for the frame and pack not the head/day pack. I am beyond happy with this pack. I am not a professional hiker or have put 19374 miles on this pack but with this pack it made me feel like I could.

The terraframe 65 performed very well during this 4 day 30 mile adventure with 4,000 feet in elevation gain. Constantly picked up and toss on the ground and slid across the ground. hiking through thick overgrowth with sharp branches and briars, this backpack did not fray or damage at all with regard to the denier material. --I discovered the Huge upside to this bag by using the Overload compartment as a storage area for my Bedroll (bivy, sleeping bag, inflatable pad) rolled up and secured into the overload compartment, making deployment of my sleep system nearly instant. No more compression sacks and individual bags per sleeping item. Just have it all put together and rolled up in the Overload. Doing this increases your bag storage since you are no longer placing your sleeping bag, inflatable pad, and bivy into separate bags. All that matters using the overload like this is that you ensure all the external compression straps are snug, to hold the overload compartment very well. I also learned you can place your water bladder into the overload compartment as well, I like this because I have had Camelbak bladders FAIL on me in the back country and it super sucks. especially if using a down sleeping bag. Doing this again, increases space in your primary bag.

Everything... Quality, Materials, Hardware, Fit, Finish, Comfort under load (50#s) all exceeded high expectations. 3 day resort run or 30 off grid this pack does it effortlessly and looks and feel good doing it. Gear carry options are pretty much only restricted by practical dimensions and ones ingenuity. Well done MR... WELL DONE. Pic of MR "Bop"and "Big Bop" on waistbelt MOLLE... Did I mention versatile... More 2 come.

I purchased the Terraframe 65 for a backcountry elk hunt in Colorado recently after having so much discomfort using another pack. Although the Terraframe is not marketed as a hunting pack, it performed flawlessly. The pack was able to hold all the items I needed for at least 5 days at a time without any issues. The front pockets worked great for storing the items I needed on a regular basis while the internal part of the pack held the essentials like clothing, food, tent, etc. The pack is very well constructed with the adjustability for the individual user. I carried about 55 pounds and I never experienced any discomfort from the pack even after multiple days of use.

I was a mountain guide in 2023 leading trips up Mt. Shasta, CA. I purchased this pack in 2022 in preparation of the season. Overall, I was very satisfied with the pack and would buy another, but I wish there were some changes. Pro's: The overload feature is fantastic. At first I was worried that 65L wouldn't be large enough, but with the overload feature I was able to carry more than enough. In the photo, I was actually able to fit an entire other 65L pack to carry down when a client was injured. The torpedo pouches on the outside are great for ready access for extra snacks, gloves, sunscreen, or anything else you need readily accessible. The waist strap is very padded which feels great, it makes carrying heavy loads a breeze. The build of the pack is great, being one large cavity for the whole extent of the bag and not having a lower separate sleeping bag section. The large zipper allowing access to the interior of the bag is great because I can stash a large med kit deeper in the bag for better packing but still allowing for rapid access in an emergency. There are a lot of straps, allowing for a variety of gear attachment ideas. Cons: This pack is HEAVY. If you are into ultralight traveling or want a lighter pack this is not for you. Secure tool attachment is very limited. There is a center attachment for an ice axe but it is held by bungee and I had issues with it coming loose. If you are planning to carry multiple ice tools or larger gear, you will have an issue. Also carrying crampons is an issue. I prefer carrying crampons on the outside of my pack to not risk damaging other gear, but there are limited options on this pack. You can attach them to the mole webbing on the pack but this can be difficult it you are already carrying an ice axe there and is not as fast as hanging a pouch on the outside of the pack. The straps can be a little confusing, not terrible but the buckles on the left and right sides are opposite (male/female) limiting some "creative"ways to carry gear. Overall though I really enjoyed this pack! It was a great product and I would recommend as a good mountaineering pack!

The bag itself is solidly built. The hip belt is well padded, but may take some adjustments if you are wearing a climbing harness. The side access zipper to the main compartment is convenient and the torpedo pockets allowed me to fit first aid items and a saw with quick access. The straps on the bottom of the bag made it easy to attach a sleeping mat and snow shoes. I was able to hang a 3L hydration bladder using the provided attachment, but its location inside the main compartment takes some consideration regarding your load out. One thing I noticed is once I added about 250' of wet rope on the top of the bag (secured under the lid) it seemed the weight was pulling away from me shoulders. I have carried rope and equipment in this manner before with my previous bag and did not have this issue. I will continue to work on the yoke adjustments and loadout to see if i can remediate this issue.

I'm in a small SAR unit in Washington and the expandability of the pack seemed potentially useful for what I do. First off this bag has a lot of buckles and straps. It can be a bit of a mess at times, but it's becoming less of a problem the longer i use the pack. (Maybe if the straps were color coded?) The expansion feature is really cool! I have mostly used it for tarps and bigger first aid kits so far. I will note however it's not the most streamlined process to get the bag back to normal when your bag is stuffed. Access to the inside of the bag is great. It's basically a duffle bag. The only slight annoyance is having to unbuckle the compression straps to unzip it fully. This bag is by far the most comfortable i have owned thus far. Love the hip belt. All the zippers, straps, buckles, etc seem bomb proof. I purchased the bag, in large part based on this reputation and it seems to be true. This will be pretty important while doing searches through blackberry brambles. All and all great bag! There is a small learning curve but in return you get tons of strapping options for weird loads. You can make almost anything work. Would recommend all day!

The squeak from the frame can get really bad, and there's no cure for it other than to have it replaced for a new, that also squeaks. I'm on my second frame right now from squeaking problems. The load carry of the frame is rad, the bag it's self is just as rad. It's a great system. But that squeak from the frame, rubbing, and flexing can drive you nuts; especially when you're 20miles out in the backcountry. The frame carry's so we'll though that I continue to use it despite how annoying the noise can be at times.

I've been really pleased with this backpack (for use as a bugout pack). However, today I spent more than 30 mins trying to figure out how to set up the extension frame (to carry my tent). Even watching the YouTube videos from Mystery Ranch didn't help much (they don't include close-ups of the places to connect and disconnect the frame from the pack). Worst of all, though, despite the multiple connections and straps, MR don't include a step-by-step instruction manual. They leave it to customers to figure out for themselves. I checked their website to look for a manual, but no . . . Nothing there, either. If MR gets back to me with detailed instructions that work, I'll upgrade the review. Until then . . . Buyer beware!
