Using the Mission Duffel to carry my SWAT gear. The internal pocket layout is well organized and the expanding lower and upper pockets are fantastic.

Got it for my daughter and I for our vacation and it is more than enough space. The backpack feature is awesome and convenient to stow if needed

I was in the market for a very specific product after my faithful backpack from another outstanding company started to show signs of wear after a decade. I knew I wanted a fully opening clamshell zip, and externally accessible compartments for separating gear. I also needed a smart colour and design that simultaneously did not attract attention, and yet also did not look out of place in a meeting room or business class cabin. I also needed it to be sturdy enough to go all over the world and request performance from it that it was never imagined for. After a good amount of international travel use, and daily use commuting by bike in one of the most massive and densely populated cities on Earth, I think I've found my pack. The 40L capacity is extremely utilitarian - I can fit 2 pairs of shoes and enough outfits for 3-4 days, plus a hygiene kit, still carry the pack comfortably on my back, on my shoulder via the side-strap. The compartmentalisation and internal storage is well thought out and executed, providing excellent organisational capacity. I read several reviews before purchasing this pack, and tend to agree with the positives, and find the negatives as either reflective of personal preferences, or simply nit-picky. All in all, this is an excellent pack, and I look forward to taking it all over the world with me in the future.

I got my family all new duffel bags for short mini adventures and trips. This was my selection. That being said I was able to compare this to some of the other options out there. This is by far the best.
The build quality is excellent. The backpack straps are the best among duffel bags for sure. The load lifter straps are really what separates them. The comfort of the straps is great. I like how the shoulder carry strap is on the side and provides a messenger bag style of carry which is fantastic.
The internal pockets are great for storage. The boot section is great.
I put an 22L In and Out pack in the smaller pocket opposite to the boot pocket. So when I get to a place I have a nice and small pack to use for holding all the misc family stuff, so the combo is perfect for my use cases.

I purchased this a month ago and used it several
times, to include a trip to Ireland. I it to be the perfect size and shape for a carry on, or a road trip. The bag is robust, versatile and loaded with modern features. It can carried as a traditional duffle, a backpack or sling bag.

I had been looking for a bag to store my gear that would fit under the seat of my truck. One of the features I like most is the non-tactical look of this bag. I had considered may other bags and ultimately decided on the Mission Duffel. I will also be purchasing the 90L version when its back in stock.

I live out of a duffel bag. I work public safety and am on duty 4-7 days at a time. This bag is great for just a few things or if I want to bring everything in the world for about 5 solid days with workouts. Great features and the backpack straps are more comfortable than I had anticipated. Mystery ranch duffel is what I'd expect from the brand than made such quality line gear.
Also someone in a prior review complained about the way that the straps are secured. I found that complaint unfounded, since they are also secured by webbing, both on the top and bottom. Should be plenty strong for any normal load.

Great product, I bought the 40 liter. With shoes/boots inside you have little room for much more. If you were going for a cold weather trip you would have a hard time putting any kind of warm weather gear in there. Great 1-2 day bag. Bullet proof!! Compact and can take a beating. Just understand what you are using it for.

I had gone through 3 other companies looking for a duffel combo. Quality on all of them were terrible and they broke within 4 months of heavy travel. This one is my constant companion on overseas trips. Fits so much stuff but I've never had a problem getting it in the overhead bin on a plane.

I bought this about a month ago and used it for a 10-day trip to Ecuador (along with a daypack). I dragged it all over the countryside, and on busses and planes. Overall, it did great. I love how it opens to give you complete access to your clothes & gear. Contrary to some reviews, I think the attachment method for the straps is more than adequate for the intended purpose (travel, not backpacking). A few improvements could make it almost perfect. 1) There needs to be a size between 55L and the gargantuan 90L bag. That's a huge leap. I needed more room (70L = perfect), but 90L is too big; and 2) some type of removable hip belt is needed for long walks from bus stations to hostels, etc. The straps don't need to be heavy-duty - just effective enough to take a little weight off your shoulders. Overall, this is a very good bag.

It's well built and stylish, like everything else from MR. The only issue is that the 55L only fits 40L. The pictures are of the 55L duffel and the 40L Mission Wheelie. I stuffed them with the same contents. The Wheelie probably could have fit more. The sizing makes zero sense. Great bags, nonetheless. No, they didn't send the wrong bag, I worked through this with customer service
According to the website, based on the outside dimensions, it's definitely the 55L.

This is a stellar "one bag" carry-on travel pack. I have used this bag for 8 day trips with no issues at all. The backpack straps are amazing, very well built and have shown no wear and tear after loading and traveling with 41lbs in the bag. The opening U-zipper design is another great touch and makes packing/ finding items inside an ease. The two zippers can also be used as a lop loader configuration.
Photos are of the 40L bag with a rain cover over it.
The only wish I have for the bag for "me" to be perfect would be the addition of the laptop sleeve on the opening flap/ same panel as the backpack straps.

I have use this as my familys swimming bag. Overkill? Absolutely not. My kids 9 months old and this bag will last until she's 20. Everything is great from the flip flop compartment to the wet clothes compartment zipper areas for keys and wallet.
Only gave it 4 stars because the zippers get stuck. I used zipper lube and it fixed the problem.

I purchased the 55L Mission Duffel for an overseas trip to Kathmandu. I needed a weeks worth of space and I wanted to just carry on my gear. The 55L size satisfied both requirements! The Mission Duffel was very easy to access and it served as mobile locker really. Storing in overhead compartments worked well due to the fact that the shoulder straps could be tucked away. The lines on the bag are very clean. Mystery Ranch packs are known for their quality and durability. I anticipate that with more overseas trips I'll be able to determine how it will hold up... but I don't anticipate any concerns. Overall I've been very satisfied.

After my first trip with this bag I am very impressed with it. Only complaint is that the zipper sticks a bit but I think it will wear in.

Love the compartment for shoes/boots. Really great just wish it had some exterior side pockets.
