Fjallraven is a premium "Go-To" brand for my technical active wear. The fit on these in terms of waistline and inseam are spot on. The fly seems a bit short which I have noticed in some but not all other garments from Fjallraven. It's not a problem, just takes some getting used to versus domestically made mens shorts and pants. Light weight yet tough fabric that wicks moisture and dries very quickly for active, humid and wet weather comfort. Roomy pockets without looking like sloppy cargo pants organize and hold wallet, phones, knife, etc. My other "go-to" for shorts is AFTCO. Wear like iron yet highly comfortable, don't hold stains, a bit more give in the waistline (e.g. a 40 will go 40-42") and price point is a bit better. Either brand will last me 15 years or more of regular active wear be that hiking, working in the landscape, fishing, kicking around or lounging. They get a work out, not high-end closet queens for country club attire although they could meld in that dress code too. Be mindful of flying embers from fire sources with technical fabrics. If you camp or are around fires a lot, consider the Fjallraven G1000 fabric that is more flame retardant and will mitigate burn holes.

So I wanted to like these. I'm 6ft 1 160 lbs with a 30 in waist. So I'm think with a moderately muscular behind but with some chonky quads/thigh muscles. I've tried the abisko midsummer shorts and pants both of them were to constrictive for activities (such as hiking, or walking up deep stairs). I tried the 44 which fit but was entirely too snug (can't fit hands in pockets), one size up the 46 was good around the waist. When the waist is right on these pants the leg openings get stuck on my thighs restricting my movement, now i understand why in the picture they have somebody with tiny little stick legs. IF you get the waist right and you have skinny legs these could work for you. As a side note I don't have this issue with either the 44 or the 56 keb trousers so its the cut of the abisko midsummmer that is too restrictive.
