Trekked in these pants in Nepal for two weeks, would give it 15 out of 5 if I could. Yes, there's minimal cosmetic piling where other reviews have pointed out. To me, that's negligible. On the positive side: they fit awesome, magically adjust to temps from upper 20s in the upper elevations to 90s in rainforests in the valleys, stay put when rolled up, stay down when keeping out leeches, dry whilst hiking and overnight even in unheated lodgings, and, best of all, drop mud as soon as it dries and look and smell awesome after 14 consecutive long days of sweaty activities. Never knew pants like this existed. Thanks, MH!!

Love these. Available in a short inseam. Zippered pockets to keep things from falling out on the trail. Just wish the pockets were a little deeper, but otherwise, these are my new favorite hiking pants.

Kept me dry and comfortable for mixed and ice climbing, flexible enough for all day wear, thin enough to be put over multiple layers.

I love mountain hardware for its quality, fit for my curvy build and price. The chockstone pant has the right kind of material in the right places for a mix of flexibility and durability and waterproof.

I am 5'4" & 135 lbs, curvy hips, ordered a size S and they fit like a dream! I could comfortably wear base layers underneath which was amazing, most outdoor companies make women's pants extremely tight & uncomfortable. I've worn these ice climbing and they are my favorite climbing pants! Highly recommend! Didn't have any pilling problems like others mentioned.

I've been trying to find pants to wear ice climbing that are the proper length for me for YEARS. THANK YOU so much Mountain Hardwear for recognizing that female climbers come in all shapes and sizes. On a sizing note, these do run a little big - I normally need a large short in outdoor brands, but the medium short fits like a dream in these. THANKS AGAIN MH for making proper length pants for us short curvy outdoorswomen.

Just what I had been looking for I think they run a little large but not a problem since I have been wearing warmers/undergarments underneath Great value

SOoo so niiiiice! They feel great, and the quality seems really good. I was worried about sizing since I am usually a size M with some curves and I ordered a S since other reviewers say theyre a bit big, and this pair just fits amazingly!! Good amount of stretch and I love the belt and height of the waist. I just wish the mountain hardwear logo wasnt so garishly white and bright. Personally not a fan of big logos on clothing, but the style, fit and materials of the pants are worth the money.

After wearing the XS on a hike, they stretched about a size. They'll be great over a base layer, but I'll need a smaller size to wear them on their own. LOVE the updated thigh pocket - I can actually zip my phone fully into the pocket.

They fit me, just barely. I'm 5'9 125# with 32" inseam the xs tall is just barely perfect. Waist sits high enough to accommodate a harness and the ankle hits the top of my shoe. Can almost get a phone with a case in the side pocket and can barely fit my hand in the hip pockets. Love the horizontal zippers on the hip pockets; things don't fall out when I high step or get caught under leg loops.

These are nice pants, but they need back pockets for our phones. The previous version of these pants had deep back pockets, but these only have front pockets. It's not comfortable to have phones in our front pockets.

Comfortable, nice quality pants, but they need at least one back pocket, if not two. I don't like my phone in my front pocket. I got size large short, which were too big, and size medium regular, which fit right but are too long. I should have gotten size medium short. I'm just under 5'4"

I'm 5'2, 27" waist, athletic build with a bit of a booty. Usually size 4 in pants/shorts. My other size 4 MH pants were too loose at the waist so I upgraded to these. I LOVE the material and the fit could be flattering if it were smaller. Usually MH pants makes me feel womanly while maintaining comfort and agility for climbing, backpacking or camping. The cinch buckle belt is a must/have for me - I hate the inside drawstring style so many women's pants have nowadays. On all those fronts, these pants are awesome! Only complaint, is they're still too loose at the waist. I got the XS (0-2), but the waist fits more like a 29" and the material is already stretchy as it is. With the cinch belt, it's an easy fix I suppose, but it's frustrating not to be able to downsize. I am certainly not the tiniest woman I know. Can't imagine what actual size 0 or 2 women would wear. I also got the regular instead of the petite, so I wonder if that contributed to waist size. I prefer that fit to leave room in length for boots, though. I still love MH pants but not sure that I will keep them.

I love the fit, the stretch, size and design, but the top material is terrible. It piles after one wear. Please please please keep this style but change the material of the pants. Every review is complaining about the piling. I'm not the only one!

I bought these last season and recently wore them on a snowshoeing adventure. I wore a medium hiking pack that was only weighted with about 10 pounds, however the pants completely pilled up on the upper waist section of the back, near the waist. Super disappointing that the material would show suck wear after the first time out. MHW, this seems like defective fabric.

I just bought these pants last week. First trip out to Mt Baker. Wore them for a total of 3 days. First impression was FABULOUS. The pockets are large and the zippers run horizontal, not vertical (which irritates fiercly when they run over my hips). The hip pockets are a little high for my liking but made it work. Sizing runs large. I am 5'4" and 140 lbs. Size SM is too big (baggy and have to use the belt) so I would need an XS. However, after my first trip with them, the material used for the upper part of the pant is NOT resistant to anything. As you can see in the photos, it started pilling immediately. For alpine/mountaineering pants, I am dissapointed. I have many different brands of same fabric that are years old and have never started pilling. I wanted to love these pants but they need to be constructed differently especially in areas where a harness would be. Please fix that and I would buy a pair. For now, these are being returned.

I used it 1 time at Mt. Shasta. It worked great. But when I washed it, I couldn't get rid of white streaks in between the leg pants. I doesn't look good. I wouldn't buy it again. Wish there's a way to fix it.
