Updated review- I wrote my original review on Frye last year and think I was a bit harsh. I tried every trick I could think of to break these in and they do fit much better now. I bought an 8 and regretted not trying the 8.5, but the 8 did eventually work for me. I think they will last for many years and look great.

This boot is really striking- gives me those 70s vibes. It's simple and classy- goes with jeans or a cute skirt. It is a Goodyear welt so it's a little stiff until broken in and it runs a half size big.

These boots were incredibly stiff and the sole was shaped in a manner so that my foot could not lie flat against it. They were cute but I couldn’t imagine wearing them. A little more rugged than I was expecting and the heel did not seem as solid as other higher end booties I have.

Pros: Loved the look, very good materials, heel was a comfortable height for me, simple design looked good with all of my jackets
Negatives: The ankle is very stiff. I really tried to break these in over several days and just ended up with the front of my legs being sore. I wore them in my house off of carpet thinking they were great and would soften up a bit, so I am stuck with them now.
Size: I wear a 8 in the Sacha and Low Phillip Harness booties (with a thin sock). These are a tiny bit bigger, but you really need the space because the sides of the toe are very firm and are not going to stretch at all. I probably should have ordered an 8.5 to be able to wear a thicker sock, but I don't think that would not have solved the stiff ankle issue.

I’m usually between an 8-8.5 wider foot- these fit me perfectly at size 8 giving me just enough room to wear socks. Frye is pricier but the cost is worth the quality and durability. I live in Alaska and these are holding up fine in the spring slushy weather, and seem to be quite water resistant with the coating on the leather. Very cute stylish shoes worth purchasing but as with any shoe in a wetter colder climate, I recommend a nonslip pad underneath for added traction. Speaking from someone who rarely wears heels, this was the perfect height to still make these very comfortable for anyone to walk in

Great fit, took some time to break in but this shoe I plan on wearing for years to come. Adorable in jeans and or long dress. (Clearly had to get this shoe ;-)

I have always been a long time fan of Frye boots due to their top quality of their products. However, this is the 3rd pair of Frye's that went back immediately. I'm not sure if they had changed the way they make their boots, but the quality is definitely not the same as it was years ago (especially for the cost). These were very different in person then on the website. PROS- run true to size, color is a true black. CONS- super clunky silhouette , zipper was so hard to pull up and down, the heel looked cheap, super stiff leather (not in a good way).
So bummed. I really wanted to love these but they just looked cheap and sloppy.
