I have five pairs of the old style paramount shorts, they were perfect for everything from cycle commuting to working around the house. Now they changed the style to be one more straight leg short option for people who don't have cycle commuting thighs. VERY frustrating as it is getting nearly impossible to find a pair of shorts that looks nice, has pockets, is durable AND is baggy enough to not bind on fairly large thighs while biking. Pleae bring back the old style, I would order at least 5 today!

These things don't even compare to the Paramount Active Shorts. They are NOT built for a body in motion, and definitely not one moving uphill through the mountains

I ordered these for my husband. He is very picky about shorts and pants because he is on the shorter side. He likes them so much I ordered another pair. He likes how they fit and feel. They arent too long. He also likes the built in adjustable belt. I'm thinking of ordering a pair for each of my sons too.

I like the style. To me they have the functionality of cargo shorts the doesn't scream it on style due to the design and material. I have had one pair for a year and I just bought two more. Would definitely buy again.

These are a great all purpose casual short. The only issue I have with them is there is no place to put the tip of the belt. I just tuck it into the waist band and they are still comfortable to wear. I was asked twice where I got the shorts so I think the style is also appealing.

Love these! I fish and am outdoors a good bit. Tennis, jogging or even on the lake, you will enjoy these. Order 1 size (at least for me). I'm a 33 in pants and I have been ordering 34 and they feel great.

It is always great for me to have a pair of black colored shorts. Black almost goes with every color of the shirts I own. Great fit and easy care shorts...wish I had bought an extra pair!

I purchased the predecessor of these shorts in 2019 and like them so much I decided to get some additional ones so I got two more. They are well constructed with high quality fabric. I like the tailoring which is comfortable and fits me very nicely. The 2019 model had nifty side pockets built into the legs. Unfortunately, those pockets are gone. (Bring them back!) There are now zip fanny pockets which are OK, but are a bit small if you want to put a wallet in one. Also, given that these are tight fitting shorts, the leg pockets are a better place to put things like your wallet and phone. Overall, this is a great short, degraded a bit by the redesign. It could also benefit by a better color selection.

So as many reviews have said way too small! I measure a 30" waist so I ordered a 31" and they were not even close to fitting me I would likely need a 34" so size up. Other than that the pockets are small but for me that is not a deal breaker as I would always have a backpack while hiking. The zippered back pockets are a plus and the material feels great.

I'm so sad that these are now made so cheaply but cost the same. The fabric used to be 91 nylon and 9 elasten now I don't even know it doesn't say but they feel cheap cheap cheap!!!!!

I bought these for my husband. He is a true 33 and after 2 attempts to get the right size (these run super small) he gave up and said “no thanks.” He tried size 33 and 34 and both were too small. Too bad.

The front pockets are so small that items fall out while hiking. As a result, the shorts are pretty worthless even for walking around town, when even a wallet or cell phone ends up visibly sticking out of the pockets. For hiking, when you might want a compass or snack in a pocket, or a place to stash a hat or gloves while layering, the pockets are comically undersized. Older TNF shorts had pockets that were at least 3" deeper. Making tiny pockets was a nonsensical design choice that ruins these otherwise nice shorts. I appreciate trying to make them stylish without the cargo pockets, but definitely missing the old Paramount Peak line! The zipperedback pockets are more to the side, which would make them a little more accessible wearing a day pack. That was a nice idea.

Not sure what happened with these shorts but, holy cow are they small. I wear a size 36-38 in most pants, the 36 fits like a 30, so I tried a 38 those fit like a 34, tried a 40, those fit like a 35-36 maybe. three different exchanges and still didn't get the size I needed. Guess ill go back to Patagonia until TNF gets the quality control in check again.

The shorts run small I ordered a 36 Waist and returned the first pair that measure close to a 34. I received a second pair (size 36) which is a small 36...between 35 & 36. Very disappointed

I went to purchase another pair and noticed they have been re-designed. The original style was great for travel but now they are no longer functional without the cargo pockets, very sad. Please bring back the old style. I am now forced to look for my shorts elsewhere.
