Loved the Hopara hiking sandals, but less than 2 months after using, the stitching started coming apart above the heal on 1 shoe. Tried calling several times, but didn't have an hour to spend on hold. FINALLY got through after another 2 months, get all the way through to working out how to do an exchange, then the rep disconnects me!! She was in my account, knew who I was and had my email and phone. Have not heard a peep! A month ago, I sent an email to the headquarters and haven't heard back. Since I believe that a quality product and top-notch customer service go hand-in-hand, I give this product 1 star. So disappointed because I wanted to believe in Hoka. Was planning on trying running shoes for my girlfriend and I next, but will have to pass. Unfortunate....

Coming apart after 10 wearings. The seam on the back of the shoe where the assist loop is attached has split after only 10 or so wearings. My husband really likes these shoes. Comfortable and perfect for wearing when fishing or crossing streams while hiking. I cannot recommend this shoe to others as two months and minimal wearing is not hard enough wear to cause such a tear. This is either a design flaw or poor quality control.

I was really excited about these, this is my 5th pair of Hokas, but they're poorly constructed. The heal ripped apart on the left shoe, and is hanging on by a thread on the right. They're less than a month old. Hoping to return them.

I absolutely love the Hopara. I live at my most minimal for both the trail and at home, so it fits in where if I have to stroll to the store from my home workspace, I just slap these on and it's good to go for a brisk walk. On the trail, and even better for camping purposes is that I don't need camp shoes any longer. This is the only footwear I use for camping (at least in warmer climates) is that I can wear it all day long, even if I don't shower for a few days, I can just rinse my feet with these on, and I'm good to go. They don't feel as hokey or hippy like some sandals would, because it has the power of a trail shoe, and the lightness of a sandal. A perfect marriage.

I've used all the major brand hiking sandals and was excited to try HOKA because of their reputation as quality running shoes. Sadly the heel strap broke clean off after 3 months of normal use. Sad because the other major brands have lasted me at minimum 2 years.

My son, an MD, anesthesiologist and pain fellow recommended Hokas as a solution for my foot issues. I was absolutely amazed at how great they felt and the superb support they provide. I now have four pairs of Hoka boots and I simply rotate them every day. I wish I had these boots during twenty five years of military service.

I’ve worn these (very comfortable) shoes less than three times. When I slipped them on today, not one, but both the pull hoops ripped from the stitch anchors. The looos themselves are strong enough, but they are attached to thin, flimsy material. Re design is necessary here. Maybe some bolster material at the stitch points. I’m sending these back, if I get another pair I won’t pull on the straps at all. They are not up to the task.

I do not normally write reviews but this was a needed exception. I just got these so I can’t really speak to their durability. That said, they certainly feel well put together. What I’m really here to talk about is the comfort. They literally feel like walking on a firm pillow formed around your foot. I have never had a more comfortable shoe. Expensive? Yes, but reasonable when you consider their comfort and probable good durability. I wear a size 14, sometimes wide and sometimes regular. These were 14 regular and were perfect. These were my first, and definitely not last, pair of Hoka’s.

I just move to Utah. I originally purchased the All terrain Crocs for daily wear and easy hiking trails. The Crocs only last two weeks before failing me.. My father-in-law recommended the Hoparas. I loved how they look, so I proceeded with a purchase. Very comfortable and highly recommended!

Love these shoes! They have the feel of a running shoe with the breeziness of a sandal. I wear them to walk my dog or take a few laps around the lake (walking mostly, but could probably jog with them as well). After I received my first pair, I immediately purchased a second pair just in case they sold out of my size.

The cushioning was significant, as you would expect from Hoka's, and the style leans towards garish, again, as you would expect, but the dealbreaker for me was the texture of the footbed. There is a significant pattern imprinted into the footbed of the sandal, including giant H-O-K-A letters, which made the sandals very uncomfortable for me. I even tried wearing socks with the sandals (I know, bad look!), but it could still feel the imprint of the letters in the footbed through the socks. For sandals that are supposed to be made for barefoot comfort, this was definitely disappointing. If they could just smooth out the footbed, I would have loved these sandals a lot more. The neoprene upper was very comfortable and provided a good balance between security/stability and fit, so the only thing that needs to change is the part that the soles of your feet actually touch...

Only worn on a few river trips. Stiching on heel straps failed on both sandals. Junk

This is my 7th pair of Hokas and first pair of Hopara's after wearing Keen Sandals for years. I have had this pair of Hopara's for less than 1 year. The Hopara's are comfortable, but the stitching came apart on both the right and left sandals to the point where there was nothing keeping the sandal on my heal. I have since cut the back straps off and use them as sandals around the house. I am going back to the Keens for my sandal of choice. These sandals don't have the durability I would expect for a Hoka product, but will continue to purchase Hoka Bondi's.

I really wanted the Hoka sandal to fit, but they do not use the same sole as on their athletic shoes. The sandal fit but I cannot walk or even stand in this shoe. It will be returned.

The only reason I didn't like the product is because the top of the sandal wasn't open and it had a fabric on top of the feet.

the sandals are a great fit. felt a little odd at first with the 'nubs' on the soles but I got use to them swiftly and they helped with grip when walking in water.

The fit is good even with a wide foot. I like the additional support of the shaped arch. I like the fabric because when it gets wet, it will dry fast. The color works for me and I like that they don’t have white souls.
