These are the best shoes I've ever had for work. I am a courier for Fedex so I'm constantly on my feet all day. These shoes are so comfortable and durable. From walking up stairs to walking on grass these shoes really help grip and take the pressure off my joints. The gortex works extremely well on rainy days, I don't get any water into my shoes. I stomp right through puddles now that I would normally have to walk around and take seconds off my delivery times. I've already told my managers they should give hoka a call and come to some sort of a deal with y'all so all the couriers at FedEx could see how great they are. I've told everyone at work about them so hopefully they will be buying some too. I will continue to buy shoes from hoka and get the rest of my family, friends, and coworkers. Thanks Tony

Hi everyone - hardly write reviews (esp. negative ones at that) but felt obligated to for this product. I'm a halfer, and recently a full guy, and done a couple of trail races. Recently moved to LA, and thus have been spending more time outdoors, wanted some shoes I could use for hiking / trailing occasionally, but also didn't look like something my dad would wear. These met all of those marks. Upon receipt, I was elated. I have wide feet and the fit on these were amazing. They felt sturdy, without being overly heavy. Unfortunately, that excitement quickly wore off. I took them out for 3 long routes on trails in Colorado a few weeks back, and during the 3rd time out, the grips on the bottom of the shoes began to come undone. I understand these weren't the easiest trails in terms of terrain, but you expect something at this price point, made for TRAILS, to last longer than 3 trips. Overall, after seeing so much hype in my running career about this brand, I was very disappointed by my first Hoka foray.

These are so comfortable and the only reason I originally got them was for the Gortex so my feet wouldn't get wet walking the dog in the rainy Oregon mornings. I am getting another pair in a different color just because of how comfortable they are, its like walking on clouds. Can go for 5 miles now when I would get sore after 2 miles. Could use a better insert because it's so thin but the sole makes up for that. My dog is happier too. Thanks for the great customer service too. I changed over from Asics because they used to be great but they took away the cush that I like so I tried a pair of Nike's on recommendation of the Zappos employee, she said if you don't like them return them and I will give you a credit towards another pair that you do like, She sent them to me for free so I have $60.00 to spend on another pair of Hoka's! With the points I have earned and the credit my $149.00 shoes are almost half off. Gotta love you Zappos!! A repeat customer for LIFE!

I am thrilled and I almost never say that about a product. I walk 30-50 miles a week and have worn many, often high-end, walking shoes. This is my favorite. Waterproof (six miles in heavy rain last week, no problem at all), the cushioning is just right, enough tread for a woodland trail but smooth enough for city sidewalks, appearance (the brown/demitasse especially) adequate for city use, sightseeing/museum going, sidewalk bistros, even business (very) casual. It appears to be the perfect travel/sightseeing shoe, may have an updated review in a few months after a projected Europe trip (doesn't look like a "trainer" which is better for Europe travel). One complaint: why in the world isn't this listed with the walking shoes on the website? It would be the only one that has balanced cushioning and is neutral, and available in wide. In fact, I would love to see you promote this in the walking/travel shoe world, it is one of the very best choices available anywhere. One heads-up--the Goretex liner, as in most shoes, makes it feel about 1/4 size smaller, so you may need to go to a wide or up 1/2 size if you don't already have plenty of space in Hoka regular. That also means some of us have to keep the shoe laced rather wide...so 2 inches more on the shoelace would be a good idea in the next iteration of this terrific shoe.

I have been looking for all black basketball referee shoes for HS and NCAA-M levels of play. My shoes have to be comfortable and durable. I tried the Bondi 6 but they just didn't feel right to me. I saw the Challenger and thought I'd check them out. I wear an orthotic in each shoe, so I find a 1/2 size up works for me (your mileage may vary). I've worn them a few times and just love them. The Hoka shoe is a little different than most, so the feel takes a little getting used to, but when you realize the difference is so much more comfort, you will love them. I'm sure they will be comfortable off the court in different colors as well, this is just my use for them. I have now rotated my Brooks to secondary shoes, even though I love the Brooks as well... that's how much different my feet and body feel after a game with the Hoka Challenger.

Been mostly using the shoes for long, weighted pack hiking (rucking) on beach sand and paved/unpaved trails. Adjusted to the heel cut fairly quickly, though I admittedly haven't run in them. I have high arches, and arch support is quite good. My feet and ankles are much happy than in my worn out trail shoes. So far so good. It's a small detail, but the laces do a good job of staying tied without being double knotted.

I use the Challenger shoes for work and I love them. I am always in a muddy and wet yard and the shoes are what I needed for this.

I use these shoes for work, I'm a nurse. Always on my feet and if I don't wear the right shoe I can feel it in my knees and back. Fortunately, these shoes alleviate that pain. Love the grip it provides when entering patient rooms. Sometimes it's not so clean and I need grip!

Fit well and exceedingly comfortable. I have flat feet and after all the years trying to find a shoe for me, these are the best. I don't need arch supports with these shoes.

I bought these for walking, outside work and general wear around town. The leather uppers were needed for the approaching colder weather. Couldn't be happier with them.

Was hesitant to spend hundo fifty on a pair of shoes... Have heard HOKA's are awesome... So far, Very comfortable out of the box, added a power step pinnacle arch for more support because what comes with the shoe is nothing but a cheap piece of foam... Hopefully they hold up as I use them as work shoes. 5 days a week, concrete floors lots of walking....

Very nice shoe for wet Seattle winters. Keeps my feet warm as well as dry. The fit is the same as the Bondi. I do replace the liner with RunPro CureRex insoles for better arch support.

Have worn HOKA running for years, including for marathons and half-marathons - would never wear anything else. This is first hiking shoe purchase, bought just before May 2021 trip to Hawaii. Unfortunately shoe began to come apart, in minor ways, but still ... should not have happened on first hike. Specifically, the rubber part of sole that curves up over toe part of shoe separated. Also, a tear on sole of shoe to the softer rubber part. Hawaii trails were not particular hard on shoes - mostly just slippery from so much rain. I continued to wear in HI because this was only hiking shoe I had brought and I valued the goretex lining given all the rain, but I am now returning them. Hoka has a good warranty and free returns if you buy on HOKA website, which I did. I may exchange for a running shoe (though maybe not as price was more for hiking and I don't know if I can carry over a credit). HOKA solicited my feedback, so I am giving it - perhaps HOKA hiking is not be as good as HOKA running, or maybe just this pair of shoes was not as well made.

I have foot pain and Hokas are just about the only shoes I can wear. I bought a pair of the Challenger Mid and they fit very well and reduced my pain, so I decided to get a pair of the low version. They didn't fit the same at all and made my right foot hurt, so I'm sending them back.

Love having the option of a “wide” in the Hoka sneaker line! What a difference in comfort! The Nu-Buck leather is substantial (in a protective way), yet supple & comfortable. Challenger GTX is a GREAT sneaker for cold weather OR wet conditions - my feet have stayed warm AND dry! …BEST sneaker I have ever had for the winter!

I have had this sneaker previously - it’s a great shoe for cold, wet conditions - perfect for the winter! Appreciate that Zappos had some inventory for the Hoka Challenger GTX, but sorry to hear that this Nubuck Goretex shoe has been discontinued by Hoka.

I bought these as a plush golf shoe and they are great! I been playing on them for a bit over a month, both in course and in the range with no issues on my swing. My feet feel way less tired with these. Played in very wet FL conditions -puddles, mud, water, and my feet ended bone dry. Not very breathable though, but expected on a waterproof shoe. Great grip all around too. I had a pair of wide Bondi 7 so I went for wide in these as well and these feel wider. Not sure why. Would go with standard if I had to do it again.

These shoes are are way better than I expected. The fit is perfect. You need to be sure to 'train' the tongue to lie how you want it; the shoes will seeming mold to your feet after several wears. The lacing system is superb. The comfort, the rocker, the low drop - everything is tuned here just like I wanted. My first pair of Hoka's. I didn't buy these for running, since I've been a Nike guy for running shoes. I may have to check them out. These shoes I bought for the comfort - and they deliver that big time. Still, I had to try them at speed on a 'trail' - a gravel outdoor track, and they go. Very happy with this purchases.
