I deducted 1 star for price and fit. I ordered my usual size 8. However sometimes I take a 7.5 in sandals. I think the 7 would have been to small a 7.5 would have been perfect.

The tread on the top and bottom is what we've been wanting for a more odd road Teva! However, and it breaks my Teva loving heart to say this, I don't understand why the rest of the shoe is ... off? Not to be dramatic. I love the shoe and wear them anytime I go for a walk or mild hike. But the straps are unusually long and the back heel strap seems a bit big/loose. Would I recommend them? Sure. Would I buy them again? Not for that price! I would just get another pair of the originals.

These were great but not for me. Without the back adjustable strap, my heel was over the back edge which was very uncomfortable and annoying. I could see how someone would get used to it, but it would not work for me on anything longer than a quick walk. The traction was amazing and walking in a river was a breeze.

I had to return these because there is no "energy return" meaning they are not "springy" or "responsive" but if you don't need them to be, these are super cute and comfy!
I'd also recommend:

Love them so much! I was a lil thrown off on the color because they have pink accents which I'm not a fan of. I was expecting neutral sun and moon like just beige, tan and black but they have a pale pink and pink is not neutral for mebut overall the functionality of them is fantastic. I have no issues whosoever with them as a daily sandal. When they get dirty I just hose them off and hang to dry and they're good as new. I think they're very supportive sandals, even when wet.

I bought my first pair locally, so I knew what size to order. I like that both straps are adjustable, as my feet swell as the day progresses and I can loosen them as needed.

Size and fit are normal. This trail sandal is quite cute and comfortable too. I returned it only because I decided, after seeing myself wearing it, that I wanted a strictly taupe or beige sandal with no black.

Love these- so comfortable and looks great on! I'm a 7.5 in shoes but the 7 fits me well in Teva's.

These sandals and comfy, easy to pair with many of my summer fashions, and well made. I haven't tried them for outdoor hiking yet but, as a New Yorker who walks daily, these are great for everyday walking. They are comfortable, feel supportive, and are some of my favorite sandals. This is my second pair of Tevas and I get stopped and complemented on them all the time!

I got this sandal for backpacking so I could pack light with only one shoe & I'm home now & still haven't taken them off. They're fashionable enough to walk around the city, comfy enough for hikes, dries fast enough for the beach, I can even run in them if I need to (short distance)

These were the only pair of shoes I packed for a 4 day trip to Costa Rica which involved a lot of hiking to waterfalls. The grip on these shoes is excellent and they're so comfortable! 4 hrs walking and my feet still felt great. Extremely impressed.

I have the Teva tan going strong this summer. These sandals are comfy (even for my narrow foot) and look super cute with the khaki green + peachy colors. The lining underneath the straps and buckles are a must for me comfort-wise, and that's why I purchase this style versus the unlined Tevas. Totally worth the money and wish I had bought these years ago! Great for hikes, creek swims, errand runs, etc. As for a few reviewers who found their heels dropping out the back - I found that when I consciously walk with my heel first, pressing it into the ground (how you would walk with intention and power) the "heel issue" resolved itself. In other words, my heel drops out the back when I am absentmindedly dragging my body around and flopping my feet as I walk. Hope this helps others make a great decision for them! *All that said, if I did have one edit to make to the sandal I wish Teva made a narrow option. This current setup works for me, but I'd love to be able to pull the straps a bit tighter and not have them hang off the edge.

Really happy with my purchase of these sandals. I generally need a bit of arch support and while these are not the most supportive, there is a bit of cushiness in the footbed that is comfortable enough. The velcro straps are easily adjustable, too. I wore them to a week long trip to the beach, and was really happy that I could wear them in the water or walk on the beach for a long time comfortably.

I wore these sandals for a week-long trip that included the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. I put hundreds of miles on the sandals on varying terrain, so I feel confident I can provide a well-informed review. *Arch support is significant. I have a very high arch. *The Vibram tread is legit. I have that tread on my hiking boots, so I knew what to expect in general. However, since it was a sandal, I wondered if it would be as secure. It is. I went off trail at the Canyon several times, and I felt very secure with the Vibram tread. *The adjustability of these sandals is excellent. You can make the fit shoe-like (for hiking) or sandal-like (for strolling). *The textured inner sole helps keep your foot secure, especially when you’re hiking. *The padding inside the straps prevents blisters. Overall, these are the best sandals I’ve ever owned (and I’ve owned every major brand of sandals). Highly recommend.

right out of the box comfortable! not as heavy as the other tevas ( 100 $ also ) this sole is a lightweight cushy sole that has a perfect arch support . I got the olive from teva directly and it no peach trim at all , still I’m keeping them bc they’re that comfy! it’s the “ scuba” neoprene type lining that makes the buckles & straps not irritate your bare foot! teva has finally made the perfect sandal ! , for us older women ( 59) it’s not too clunky and heavy feeling , I can wear these in a pool or ocean! they fit perfectly and move as one w my feet !

Finally had a chance to wear my tevas first time Teva owner and I went for a light hike down to a river and played in the river for a few hours with them on and they were amazing. The comfort as well as the straps felt great against my foot there was no rubbing nothing was uncomfortable. Some people reviews mentioned the backstrap on the hill being a little low I did not find it to be bothered some at all they were very comfortable. If your second guessing if you should get these don't second-guess get them they're amazing!! Now if they had only brighter colors ;)

I walk/hike Stone Mountain (Georgia) every weekend and I absolutely hate walking in sneakers. Shoe strings always seem to be a bother. So I was thrilled when I came across these. Feels like I'm walking on air! Initially the price point seemed a bit much but after walking in them it's worth the price. The sides of my feet and my ankles don't hurt because of the padding aligned in the sandal's straps. I will definitely be buying another pair (in a different color) Lol.

I bought the original sandals last year and after sliding on wet surfaces I decided to try the trail version this year and couldn't be happier, I only wish they weren't so expensive. I love the padded straps and creek crossing while backpacking was no problem!

I've been walking for hours in these Teva's with my dog. Perfect for the summer heat. They do run big, I'm usually 9.5-10 and I took a size 8.

These shoes, though comfortable and lightweight, are not like my old Teva's that lasted for 15 years. The sole of these shoes have no distinctive tread, and I wouldn't trust them on slippery bouldering in a creek or river. The straps are very thin, not like the heavy duty material of the original river sandals. I understand that TEVA has been bought out by Decker Shoes, and it seems like these shoes, though sold under the Teva brand, may be knock offs.

I finally found the hiking sandals I've been hoping for! I have very narrow and low volume feet, and most Tevas look like ping pong paddles on me. (The exception is the Teva Olowahu, the only flip flop that is narrow enough for me to wear.) I wanted a secure and supportive sandal, so I've been trying all the Tevas. Most of them have soles that are much wider than my foot, and the straps rub when I tighten them up. However, the Universal Trail has extra padding on the inside of the straps and they tighten up well on my narrow feet. As far as the style, they're cute for what they are, but they are definitely more of a hiking look than a delicate fashion statement. I got the blue-ish grey color, and I really like it. As another reviewer said, I do wish these came in a narrow width, because the straps are longer than they need to be for me. Overall, though, I'm happy with these.
