I have hiked 10K miles in Teva Terra Fi 4 sandals. I bragged on these sandals endlessly and got so many other hikers to buy them. I easily got 1,500 miles out of each pair. Now? GARBAGE!!! The Terra Fi 5s are garbage. Sending them back. They haven't gone "lighter". They've gone CHEAPER! And they've gone from having the best hiking sandal on the market, to being mediocre at best. The only thing that makes them a cut above the garbage Xero sandals, is that at least Teva will allow returns. The fit is miserable and the spider grip appears to be gone. I feel betrayed.

TL;DR: These are the most rugged and durable pair of Teva sandals you can buy. If you're looking for a pair of sandals to last, feel comfortable immediately out of the box, up for any activity you want to throw at them, and go from long distance hiking in deserts or mountains to splashing in a river to swimming at the ocean to going out for a casual bite to eat to throwing on something in the pitch dark of your campsite so you can go pee, then these are the ones for you. I've been trying to replace my beloved Teva sandals which I bought 9 years ago. I spoke with a customer representative on facebook messenger, and I discovered my sandals were the "hurricane sport" sandal. However, comparing my pair of teva sandals to the hurricane sandals available online, the new version of the hurricane sandals seemed to have less tread, there wasn't the same level of padding around the webbing which makes my original tevas so comfortable. I had also tried the Tirra sandals with the 3 straps, but the tread/grip was not as good as my first pair and the tread separated from the footbed after 2.5 summers of use. I then tried Chaco thinking I'd try a different brand of sandal to see if they were more durable, but even though I ordered based on their sizing, the footbed was not wide enough. I'm not sure if they run narrow or not, but my foot is more comfortable in a Teva sandal. This time I talked to several customer representatives and I opted for these terra fi 5 universal sandals. I couldn't be happier! Right out of the box these were comfortable. The tread depth reminds me of my original Teva sandals. They are super easy to adjust to your foot with the velcro straps, and I basically haven't taken them off since they arrived on my doorstep. The only complaint I might have is that they are slightly heavy. However, they're not uncomfortable and I don't really notice it once I'm walking, hiking, etc. I would highly recommend these sandals!

I own at least 20 pairs of Terra Fi 2 sandals and love them. They came in many colors, were light weight but still held up to all kinds of wear. I went to buy Terra Fi 3 but Teva changed the inner sole and I did not like the feel. Then I waited for the Terra FI 4 and had the same problem and then only produced 3 bright colors. So now it is the Terra FI 5 and the sandals only came in black which is fine for wearing with anything but they are hot with the black sole which has been made larger in the ball of the foot area and although the sole looks very durable, the weight of each shoe is heavy. There is a big difference in weight between the Terra Fi 2 and 5. I have hiked the Terra FI 2s all over the US and Europe so I know they last. I am disappointed in Teva that for the women's shoes, they only put the toe pad on the Terra Fi whereas the men's have it on all their sandals. I would love to buy the Terra Fi lite but they have a split strap on the bone on the inner side of the foot which just rubs. I would like to see Teva put the same original strap on the lite shoes. And, I would like to see colors that can be worn with multiple outfits - navy, hunter green, brown - hiking colors but also could be worn with casual outfits. Hoping Terra FI 6 will have changes that I read many customers want. Meanwhile, I will continue to wear the Terra Fi 2s.

My first pair of Tevas were the flatforms, and I loved them for how lightweight and resilient they were (walked into lakes and rivers with them, light hikes off-trail hikes, etc.). The strap finally started exposing underneath the shoes after 5 years! When looking for a new pair I wanted something with a little more grip for tougher hikes and went with these. I reluctantly thought they'd be much heavier, but they aren't!! Just as comfy and still super light, plus the foot bed is also a supportive squishy. I'm sure these will last just as long if not longer. Big fan. Love these shoes and love Tevas. Best sandals ever! Also - I usually wear a size 8.5 and ordered an 8.

Tracked across the world for many years in Teva sandals. They used to last for a long time and were just the best. But sandals I have bought in last couple of years have worn out really fast. The soles split and the straps break. So goodby Teva I am not willing to pay a sizeable sum for an inferior product.

I have high arches and it's tough for me to find shoes I can walk even a block in, so when I find something I can wear all day without pain, I'm sold for life! These are so comfortable, I can walk everywhere, all day without any pain. I am constantly telling my friends and anyone who will listen, about them. If you have high arches and have severe pain when walking even shorts distances, try these, I truly believe you'll be impressed.

Day 1 and a size down from my last pair, the fit is perfect, the size 7 was a lil too wide and the straps too long but it never affected the comfort. These are even more comfortable because there's padding in the areas that were rubbing on my last pair, but only when they were wet. I've already worn them the whole day and they feel comfortable, it is also helping with my planter fasciitis as there's more arch Support than my last pair.

I realises I need to have these shoes after seeing them on Instagram. The style and pattern really caught my attention. I love all good quality sandals and knew these should be added to my collection. I was a little concerned since there weren't half sizes since I'm normally a 7.5 in most American shoes. Because of this I went with my EU size which is a 38. For me going with my EU size proved to work out very well. I think the shoe is quite comfy and provides good lower ankle support. I don't see my feet getting sick of these while walking around campus or while doing more strenuous activities.

I usually wear 7 1/2 or 8 in shoes. This sandal comes in whole sizes only. Size 7 was too big, to my surprise, so I exchanged for size 6 which fits well. It takes some time to get the straps adjusted but it's worth the effort. The heel cup holds my heel in place, the arch support is perfect. I can't speak about their durability as I had them a few days, but they are VERY COMFORTABLE.

I need a very supportive shoe because I have a bad arch problem. plus non-painful bunions that get in the way. So I have a huge shoe wardrobe that I can no longer wear, except for special sneakers with a mondo"" orthotic or TEVAs. I've had to change my shoe selection from trendy to practical :( I've been wearing Teva Hurricane XLT2 for a couple of years. I have 4 pairs, maybe more. I saw the Teva Terra Fi5 and it looked even more supportive and super cute colors. I ordered a 7 but had to swap it for a size 6, which fits better even though I tend to wear size 7 in most shoes. So you might say this model Tera Fi5 runs large. So I've found the right size, the comfort is possibly better, for me, than the prior style I already wear. I have a host of fashionable color/pattern choices now between the two styles.

I have worn Terre Fi 4 on the Camino de Santiago & opted this time for Terre Fi 5. They have as good traction as hiking boots. I wear Wright socks with these sandals the whole 500 miles, 31 days straight & they are still usable & comfortable. I like them because they are rugged, I don't get a single blister with socks, arch support good, & my feet do not get hot or swell. I wear them in the rain with smart wool socks over 5 finger socks so wetness is drawn away from my feet. Only thing is the sizing chart says I should wear a 7-1/2, but in reality I wear a 9 with socks. I have a pair of size 8 I can wear sockless, but they are harder to get on my feet. I'd suggest ordering larger & get two different sizes, then return the pair that doesn't fit. If you've done the Camino, you know that how your feet feel means everything.

I bought these sandals to replace my old Tevas, which were one of the Sanborn models (closest to the classic universal). They're both size 7 but you can see this sandal is quite a bit wider. (Btw, I normally wear a 7.5-8 and the 7 has always been the right size for me.) These do get far less little pieces of gravel stuck in them so I think the extra width is a good thing! I also love the cushioned straps and how each strap is adjustable. The tread and sole feel sturdy and give me a height boost compared to the old sandal. That's good, since I had to replace them after three years of use due to the tread wearing out completely and causing me to trip and fall on a flat surface (I realized the tread was worn completely smooth). Hopefully these don't wear out as fast. I am docking a star because there are several lose threads already from the straps which does concern me (I've only worn them for about 10-20 miles so far).

I have older Teva 6465 which have the same style straps and a similar footbed and the padding under every strap. But the tread is wearing down making them slippery. I ordered these as they have the same three features I want: traditional straps, contoured footbed, and padding under every strap. The problem is, the footbed curves up behind the heel. When hiking or on the beach, debris kicks up into your shoe here and there. This lip traps the debris under your foot. Normally I can just lift my leg forward and tap my heel and anything falls out. However this heel won't allow anything to fall out. I literally have to stop continuously and remove the shoe. That is unacceptable so I had to send them back. And you have no other sandal with this basic strap and padding under all straps, with the contoured footbed (or with any footbed I think). I like the XLT2 but it only has padding under one strap. Please make an XLT2 with padding under every strap or get rid of the heel lip on this shoe.

Very comfortable although more substantial than my other Tevas. Structure is similar to a hiking shoe and feels very sturdy for walking on uneven surfaces. I have at least 5 pairs of Tevas and even when worn out I still wear them!

Feel comfortable out of the box, but trying another reviewers advice to wear with socks to break in for the straps. They are heavy but I’m buying for the nice tread and grip. I like the three adjustment straps (across toes, above and below ankle) . The bottom two straps have Velcro that ends in a plastic tab while toe Velcro is just Velcro but likely this strap does t need adjustment as often as the other two tho it was a nice touch on two out of three straps. Good padding will make these easy to wear. Even tho I have a bunion-think will be ok because of three adjustable straps a little arch support but not much.

I love my Teva's. Read the reviews, needed a good trail sandal for Zion. These Terras did not disappoint. Sturdy yet super comfortable, great support, and adjustable. I have tendinitis on one of my feet and the ability to adjust the stability across my toes and ankle made it a comfortable fit. No regrets with this purchase!

I replaced my 10 year old Terras…they still had a lot of life left except for the strap my puppy chewed. The new model fits as well and is as comfortable as the old! I wear a size 9 shoe but an 8 or 8-1/2 sandal (I go by where the arch fits best and let the toes fend for themselves). An 8 in the Terras is perfect for me. My pup is grown so these should last a good long time.

The size and fit was perfect. Very comfortable right out of the box. I haven't taken them off since putting them on two hours ago. So you see, I've not given these sandals a real road test, but I can tell they are going to work. The foot pad is squishy enough for my comfort (not hard like some of this type of sandal). The padding under the straps is a plus (I've been going up and down stairs... no rubbing.) The arch is excellent for me, but my arches are very low. For a frame of reference, I typically wear size 10 M but find that to get enough width under the mid-foot area I sometimes choose women's wide in narrower styled shoes. I also tried TEVA Hurricane 4, which also fit perfectly, but had a firmer feeling foot pad, and no padding under the straps. They were nice but I preferred the Terra Fi 5 Universals. Canyon Calliste Green is a nice attractive neutral that will go with everything.
I'd also recommend:

For use on the modest inclines and over roots and rocks on the Gibson Park trail in High Point NC. I am planning a fourth Camino de Santiago (2021, at least, I hope so) and wanted to source sturdy and comfortable sandals as I prepare for the trip. Pandemic precautions have prompted the sensible closure of state and federal parks so I walk around and around Gibson Park for an hour several times a week. I require a sandal which "disappears" on my feet, so that I simply walk along trails undistracted by pinches, blisters or uncomfortable pressures. It took several forays and a recent increase in heat and humidity (Nortth Carolina!) and resultant swollen ankles and these Teva Terra's accommodated themselves to my adjustments beautifully. I deliberately choose to walk over tree roots, downhill, around stream beds and gaps in the path as I want this pair or similar to walk 500 plus miles across Spain carrying a 12 pound pack!
I'd also recommend:
