Another colossal from Arc'teryx - the NLD2 GTX - are: super everything, confort, light, durable, nice, and even casual ...love the black/on black color. Went for running, real test: heavy ...heavy rain, mix terrain, 80% asphalt, 1 cm of water on the ground (min), ....thought to put on real test the new shoes, amazing grip - confidence 100%, ...feet completely dry until first 8km, and believe me ...warm inside, I was impressed, then...he he..about 12 Km, start getting some water inside, was technically impossible to avoid large spot of water, ....and by the way got my Arcteryx Aptin short completely wet, ...but..on top was completely dry and warm with the Zeta Gorotex Pro......in conclusion, I have managed to finish the run without big issues at 13Km (1:04hrs). I have cleaned the Norvan LD2 GTX easily..., let them dry during the night - the day after they were perfect, and ready for the office... :-). Great shoes.

Did a 100km hike in 24 hours in these shoes. Didn't had the time to walk into the them, so before the hike I maybe had used the shoes a couple of times. The hike was hard during the hours, but the shoes were amazing. Only got 3 minor blisters due to wet feet, as the water came from my water pants into the inside of the shoe crawlling around in the night. Very pleased with the shoes which I confident can say help me archive my challenge

So I bought these specifically for hiking. I recently went to Algonquin Park and did many hikes. All of them had we terrain and mud. One of them being completely in the rain and these shoes did their job. My feet stayed dry, I don't know why other users have complaints about how waterproof they are as I completely submerged my left foot in mud and my foot didn't get wet at all. I would put my feet in water to clean them off and never got wet so I don't know if they just got defective pairs but no problems at all for me. In fact I highly recommend these shoes as the grip is insane, they are extremely light and very very comfortable. I am somewhat of a sneaker head and own many high end running shoes and honestly these have them beat in the support and cushioning category. My one gripe is that I did order a half size too big thinking they'd be true to size as I would have loved to try the 10.5 but I was able to manage with adding my own curex insoles. Overall I do highly recommend this shoe for hiking and trail running.

I put a few hundred tail miles on my pair from last year, with almost no signs of wear. Even the GTX stood up strongly, with no sign of leaking. I use them in wet forests in cool weather, trudging through puddles with no hesitation. I also have worn them on long, dry, steep hikes in the Tetons, and they performed equally well. This year, they reworked the sole with a lighter material, and widened the toe box. Both these improvements were enough for me to buy the new model. They are even lighter than last year and built just as well.

As mentioned in many reviews here, this shoe is the grippy Vibram outsole on the trail, but ... On a short 8 mile hike in moderate 60*f dry weather, my toes/skin were white from moisture build up - it's as if my feet were stewing in a bath for hours. These, IMO, do NOT off-gas sweat very well at all. So, if you run on the warmer side, I would not recommend these - go the the non-GTX version. It's really unfortunate b/c I would've hoped GORTEX itself would be better in sweat management (in shoes) than other WP liners. Perhaps on a short run, they'll be better (less time in the shoe) Heel lockdown was on the loose side, so I have to use the very last eyelet - even then, it doesn't completely secure my heel. A byproduct of this is that the shoestrings are very short - funny that a string pocket is provide at the top of the tongue. I have a low arch, so these are a bit snug for my foot, but not a big issue. The ride is on the firm side, though they are lightweight and nimble. I hope this helps!

Purchased the Norvan LD2 GTX 12 months ago. My feedback in only two words: great shoes!.. expensive, yes, but worth the money; been trail running 1000 K, all conditions, and they were always there: great grip, perfectly balanced as you feel comfortable, stable and very safe when you approach wet spots and rocks. After 1 year, the cushioning system is not as the first moths, however the whole GTX protection yes!!!. No infiltration of water, unless you go diving (which I did) no damages on the upper side, warm and breathable. I am very happy - now will keep it for the rainy days, when the Arct'reyx Norvan LD2 GTX will take me out there.

I have been running in these shoes all summer, and I really enjoy them. The fit is great for my wide foot and the amount of cushioning is perfect for the trails around here in Chamonix. I absolutely love the little pocket for the laces, I have never had my laces untie when I use this. Brilliant!

I have bought this pair of shoe ls before and put them the paces. They have been on my feet nearly every day for three years before I ruined them in the dryer. So I bought another two pairs. Because I would be heart broken if in 3-4 years, they changed this style or discontinued it. The best every day trail shoe ever!

I purchased these along with a pair of Aerios FL GTX. The Norvans are much more comfortable in my opinion. They're a very well constructed shoe that do what they're supposed to do. They also look good too therefore toucan wear them off the trail!

Great waterproof trail running shoes. I have size 13 but want a narrow heel / ankle shoe and a little more width for the front and toes (anyone who skates, think Bauer Vapor). These fit the bill and are super comfortable. Really good on the trails with some protection against rain and when crossing water. Very Good quality shoe overall. It’s pricey, but not much more than comparable shoes. I just shopped for waterproof tralrunners for my son and we did not try anything for less than $150. It use them for walking or jogging almost everyday and I am so happy about these shoes.

I bought these 3 weeks ago. Overall happy with my purchase. Pros: Very well made shoe, as I have come to expect from Arc'teryx. No chaffing around the ankles. Super light even the gtx version. Style is great as well. No slipping in wet conditions. Cons: Should definitely be advertised as waterresistant and not waterproof. Feet will not stay dry in heavy rain. Shoe is on the firmer side, can feel uncomfortable after long runs. Overall, I just wish they could make this shoe completely waterproof. If they do, it will be next to perfect

I bought these after wearing out a pair of Norvan VT shoes. I love the VT as they fit my narrow feet perfectly. I thought the VT wore out a little fast but I did subject them to some steep trails that probably would have been hard on any shoe. I decided to try the LD 2 GTX going into the fall and winter months as I wanted a little more cushion than the VT and wanted the goretex for rainy/snowy runs. I've only had a chance to use them once so far on a 9 mile trail run but they fit and performed as I expected. I love the traction of the soles and the fit and finish. They run narrow but that works for my narrow feet.

The fit and size were great. Definitely quality material and constructed well. As noted by earlier reviews, they definitely run "hot". They are great to keep out water, but also keep in heat. Would not recommend for really warm climates.

First off, these are long wearing, super supportive, durable shoes that are capable of conquering long hikes at speed. I really broke them in hiking the grueling Franconia ridge loop in New Hampshire where the only wear was superficial. What they are not is waterproof. Claims that "any spots on the shoe where there is separation (such as the tongue and outer) will experience water penetration" just aren't true as the glued seams between fabric and tape (where toes and shoe bend) leak like a sieve. In sum, if supportive over soggy shoes are what you're after these can't be beat. But if staying dry is your main concern then keep looking.

I saw reviews about there being problems with the fabric around the ankles not being tight to them. It is an issue, but I have not run into stuff getting caught in it. 9.

Been using these about 6 months. Compact foam in heal withstands bony heels that usually eat right through the padding. Waterproof good so far. Grip and sole are great. I would say they are not the cushiest shoes out there but they fit well for quick moving and cutting back and forth. One thoughtless design choice - narrow laces. If you use the extra eyelet for "heel lock" the laces in the upper 2-3 eyelets start getting wound up over time. Then they turn round instead of "flat" which is going to lead to the lace sawing right through the eyelet. Solution is to get wide flat laces, or to undo top 3 eyelets every time you put on and take off the shoes. Does anyone actually take that time?

First off, I have a lot of Arc'teryx gear. I work in film and rely on it a lot. For the most part, its the best gear out there imo and the customer service is exceptional. I was hoping these shoes would deliver but they just don't unfortunately. Wether its walking my dog in wet grassy fields or wearing them at work on a rainy day, my toes ALWAYS get wet. Just the toes. Almost seems like the gortex is everywhere but the top of the toes. Within a couple minutes in a wet rainy field and def by mid morning on a rainy work day I am committed to wet feet for the rest of the day unless I wear my Mammut hiking boots - also gortex. I can, and have worn those for 17hrs straight in rain and snow with perfectly dry feet at the end of the day. Really wish these shoes would do the same. Why the wet toes??

I like the shoe - it fits well, they are light and great to walk and run in. BUT despite the fact they are goretex, water gets in very easily through the mesh above the toe. There is virtually no point having a goretex version if feet get wet this easily. I have a pair of ON goretex shoes which are totally bomb proof in wet weather, which is what I expected these to be - disappointing.

Breaks my heart but i can't wear these. 9.5 (my normal size) is too small, 10 is too large. Was hoping these would replace my old worn-out Norvan VT GTXs, but no go.

Extremely disappointed, been wearing them for less than a week in urban environment: they leak water. Using them in light snow, bought at an authorized retailer.
