The Asics Tiger Gel-1090 is the best running shoes I've owned since the New Balance M850. The shoe is stable, is neutral (excellent for fellow supinators), is made of sturdy materials, and has ample cushioning for most runners/walkers. I used to be a runner, but age and knee injuries have converted me to a walker. I walk about 3 miles per outing. As a guy in his mid 70s, I need a bit more cushioning in the heel and forefoot. And I found the insert was too contoured and hard (material) to be good for me. So, I purchased some double-thick air pillows from Stop-and-Shop, I think they're labeled Care One, I cut them to size and now I have the perfect running shoe. These shoes are more like a trainer than a running shoe you might wear in a 5k run. For 3k runs, these would fill the bill; but for a longer distance shoe you'll want a lighter runner. For walking, the shoes are exceptional: the feel, stability, rugged material, and feel leaves nothing to be desired. It's been difficult finding a running shoe that doesn't look like someone's knitting project. And these shoes bear no semblance today's knit shoes. They're good for just knocking around, too. I bought two pair and am enjoying them. I picked up the white/midnight shoes, size 8.5, the size shoes I've worn for years. No need to compensate and buy a size up or down.

I've gone through a lot of running shoes just looking for a pair that fit the way running shoes used to fit (before China manufactured shoes). These are the cat's bum. They fit great! They look great! And the neutral heel feels exceptional for this supinator. I even ordered a second pair, identical to the first. Love these Asics. I haven't owned Asics in almost two decades because I didn't like the feel. Well, these shoes change the playing field for Asics with respect to fit and feel. And, for the first time in years, both shoes are cut the same! The toes, width, length are where they should be for my regular shoe size. No need to border a size up or size down, same for the width. The Asics Tiger Gel-1090 is reminiscent of the way running shoes used to be. Been running/walking for exercise since 1979; and it's been years since I've been this excited about a pair of running shoes. What would I change about them? Nada!
