I am a size 10.5 men's. People in this size are stuck between choosing a size 10 that would be too small and then a size 11, which would be too big. For this boot, i researched all the reviews online and everyone said to go a size down as they run big, WRONG! This boot runs slightly small and tighter. I have some shoes that i can fit a size 10 on, but no 11s. I would recommend a size up if you are in between. I will come back to this review as I will be returning the item and getting a size 11. I just hope it is not too big.

I ordered 5 different black Chelsea boots and this was the standout. It was the perfect mix of casual and dressier for what I needed. It wasn't the most comfortable pair out of the box but I've had Doc's before and I know they will break in. Definitely worth a try!

I really wanted to like these since docs are such a classic, but these are unfortunately the most uncomfortable docs I've ever had. The fit is a bit big but I think it would be too tight across my instep if I went down a size; there is no arch support whatsoever but not space to add a good insole; they're clunkier than expected, even for docs. The leather is gorgeous and seems high quality, and I love the all-black look. I wanted to love these so much, but they just aren't doing it for me and will have to go back.

A gift,; recipient was thrilled! Sleek DMs with no contrasting stitching makes these a boot for any occasion. No fan of DM because of high contrast stitching where sole meets leather, but they finally got “it” , and I bought it.

I was surprised they fit true to size. I’m a Women’s size 8 and that’s what I bought. It’s been awhile since I bought a pair of Doc’s so I wasn’t sure. The style is pretty bada$$ too! I look forward to wearing them!

Loved the concept of the mono color theme, but the materials seemed a little cheap and the grips on the sole too small. Wanted to try out a Chelsea boot style but didn’t really look right on me. Haven’t used Zappos in a very long time but fantastic service, quick delivery and great customer care will be back.

Love the look. Definitely takes some time to break them in. I found wearing thick socks and a bandage padded with cottonballs over my instep while wearing them around the house did the trick. I was worried they wouldn't ever break in after a couple days like that, but they are well on their way to being comfortable, as Doc Marten's are known for.

I really wish I could keep these great looking and well made shoes. Unfortunately, they would require a ton of breaking in just to determine if they’re worth keeping. That amount of wear would deem them unreturnable, so it was a quick return for me.

Love the look of these. I’m a hairstylist, when they arrived I put them on and mostly stood in one spot for several hours. Had to take them off bc it felt like I had been cut by a knife on the top of my foot. A scab formed so had to wait about ten days for that to heel, then tried again inside at work and lasted about 10 minutes bc of the same spot. I don’t trust that this will get better , although I wish it would bc I love the look, a little more dressed up than most dr. Martin’s.

Very well made. Leather finish and sole are top notch. Very comfortable, though, like most Docs, require some break-in. There are quite a few hacks to make this not so uncomfortable. But in the end, you'll have a pair of Docs that feel as cozy as your favorite pair of jeans.

These are the first pair of Doc Martens I have purchased. The soles are amazingly comfortable. They are tight to get on and the ankle area will need to be broken in some but live them so far! Wish they came in half sizes.

Good boot

So, I learned something about myself. At 50+, I may or may not still be a little bit punk-rock, but despite the whole idea of Docs being close to an orthotic shoe in the first place, I don't have the patience or the time to deal with their Smooth Leather, especially considering my arthritic foot bones. Fit was actually really good, true to size, and once they were on they felt right. No scraping of the heel, just a little wiggle room for the toes. But getting them on, holy cow. It took ages and felt like it was risking a tendon rupture in the process, both getting them on and then off again after walking around for 20 minutes on the carpet, or just sitting for half an hour. The whole point of Chelsea boots is the elastic gore stretching to open up a nice wide entry, then going back for a snug fit. Docs elastic is great, but the smooth leather starts out with the rigidity of quarter-inch--thick steel. Yes I know, it conforms to your foot over time, you can do weird shoe magicks with heat or oils or whatever, it softens as you wear it, but that's not for me. I don't mind some break-in, but not when I'm breaking more than the shoe is. And anyway, Chelsea boots come in two main species: the more chunky utilitarian English type, and the more low-profile European/ Continental type. I was looking for a more dressy boot, and I got swept away by nostalgia, thinking the Mono would be business-casual enough. It may be, but I have my doubts, and if the perfect fit that might develop over weeks or months still involves a big rounded toe with creases, then nope. Not for me. Well, I'm not sure why everyone says these should fit true to size. It is half or even a full size bigger than regular sneakers. Moreover, the pair of your true size does not fit tight around the ankle how it's supposed to. Apart from this, looks very stylish to me.

this is what I expected

These boots are for work and while wearing business slacks with work in both indoors and outdoors. I like the style, pull on feature and rugged sole. Sizing a boot, without trying on, is a gamble and I was fortunate to win this gamble. I wear a 11 sneaker, 10.5 in one boot, classic cowboy toe, and a 10 in the other boot; both Ariat boots. And a dress shoe in 10.5, so I went with a 10. Using a break-in period prior to wearing to work. The boot uppers are very stiff and tight, so need to loosen them up some. I’m very pleased with the product and look forward to wearing them for the purpose which bought. Side note, haven’t needed yet, but the return policy and ease of use is pleasing as a consumer.

This is a nice looking Chelsea boot. I wish they offered half sizes cause I probably needed a 10.5 but went with the 11. These 11 measure about 12.5 inches which is the same as my size 10 red wing boots but they have a lot more room which makes them feel big, but I feel a full size down would be too small. Luckily for me a needed to add an insole to these cause there is no arch support or cushion really at all which I’m sure a lot of people don’t want or need in this style boot, but that extra layer made everything fit a little more snug. If you’re between sizes I’d suggest ordering down if you’re going to wear them as is, or up if you want to add some support since the insole it comes with is not removable and you’ll be adding on top of it.

Received boot and they look nice. They are not shiny, but have a matte finish look to it, which I prefer. Went by all reviews from searches that say to go size smaller. Wrong! Sucks that docs. only have full sizes. I am a 10.5 mens. People with my size are stuck in the middle, as a size 10 is too small, and a size 11 is too big. This boot at size 10 men's does not fit me and is slightly shorter and tighter. Maybe if broken in they may fit, but I don't think so for this boot. I am returning and getting a size 11 and will comeback to review that size.

worse than putting on and taking off ski boots... and about as comfortable. Super narrow and press hard on the top of my feet. I guess they would be good for a duck with narrow feet.

This is a very heavy boot and as a 1/2 size person with narrow feet, they just didn't work.
