I bought these for the sole reason that they are the last of the ASICS narrows on the planet. I was a Kayano girl for over 20 years but ASICS recently stopped manufacturing narrows for some bizarre reason. I've tried every other brand and they're awful and the narrows aren't actually narrow (looking at you Brooks!) so I have no idea what I'm going to do save try running barefoot.
Anyway, back to the shoe...it's super cute in black with rose gold accent. It's the first color scheme I've liked from ASICS in a long time. These aren't quite as padded as the Kayanos and I don't think I can do the mileage I would normally do in them. Also, the heel is wide but the forefront of the shoe is narrow so my orthotic is useless because it makes the shoe too tight. However, a regular width even with the orthotic is far too wide. So...overall 4 stars but 3 for comfort and a 5 for style. Good luck to my fellow narrow footed brethren...with ASICS no longer in the game, I think we're out of luck.

I walk a minimum of 3 miles a day and have walked distance for over thirty years. I have a narrow, flat foot and pronate when walking. I have been distessed this year in trying to replace my narrow running shoes. It seems the manufacturers think there are no more narrow feet and have discontinued most of the narrows. I finally starting searching all of the running shoe reviews on Zappos and am finding a significant number of women with narrow feet that are in my situation. I have tried multiple replacement shoes with poor outcomes. I purchased these in the medium as there are no longer any narrow available and found that finally a shoe works for me. I do have to lace them pretty tightly to keep them secure on my foot but there is good cushioning on the ankle so the tight lacing is not uncomfortable there. The toe box runs wide and roomy on me but with the tight lacing it is ok and decent socks help fill the gap a bit. A runner may feel like there is too much room in the toe box for stability. At any rate, for me this is a shoe that works as a replacement for my narrow Saucony Omni. So, thank you ladies with narrow feet that have given a thumbs up to this shoe and reviewed in detail your situation. It was very helpful.

Please bring back the AA running shoes! These are probably slimmer, as other reviewers have said, but they are still too wide for a narrow fit. Too much material on top for my foot...unfortunately!

These are the most comfortable shoes ever!!! I compared the GT2000-7 and the GT2000-8, and this one (the 8) was noticeably more cushiony. Like walking on a cloud with excellent arch support.

This is a great shoe. I too bought this solely for the need of a narrow work out shoe. I have also heard that Asics is no longer making narrow shoes. I've been wearing Asics narrow running shoes for many years and I"ve bought them all from Zappos. I have no idea what I will do when I need more since there are no other manufacturers that make a true narrow width running or training shoe as their narrows are not true narrow widths. Because of the fear of not being able to find any other shoes in the future to work out in that actually fit, I bought 2 pair of these. The shoe is just as awesome as all of the other Asics I've owned - fits true to size, is supportive but not overly stiff, comfortable, and color scheme is great also.

The design of the GT-2000 8 changed this year and they narrowed the toe box on this version 8 series. If you prefer a wider toe box then get the Gel-Kayano 26. I ordered both and returned the GT-2000 8 for that reason, and kept the Kayano's. Happy feet...happy running!

I am a registered nurse working long hour shifts especially with the pandemic plaguing our nation. I wore my old shoes out in a matter of months and quickly needed some new ones for my upcoming shifts at the hospital! I am 5'10 and wear a size 12 shoe so i need something thats can hold me up for hours lol. Let me tell you! these shoes are amazing! it took a few shifts to break them in but after that they feel great and very sturdy! exactly what I need. I will be ordering another pair to keep the rotation going!

I have very narrow feet and Asics is the only brand of running shoe that fits. Please do NOT discontinue manufacturing narrow shoes. There are many of us with narrow feet. What are we to do? I've worn out two pair and am desperate to obtain more narrows. Let's all contact Asics to let them know we need their narrow shoes. Zappos can you help too?

I already love Asics. Been wearing them for years. I researched for weeks before I bought this pair and am not disappointed. The GT 2000 8 is a little more stiff than the other styles like Nimbus and Cummulus, but the support it gives is amazing. I noticed I was starting to pronated a little too much on my left foot, so my arch was becoming sore. That's why I chose this shoes. It also has great cushion on the road which is important for knees and lower back. I have found that I always need to order half size up with Asics, so that my recommendation. Great shoe for power walking!

I have a AAAA width foot, so no running shoe runs that narrow. That said, the 9 2A width with a superfeet insole works well enough.
Love the black color too. Goes with most everything athleisure that I wear!

I normally wear 8. This was better in 8 wide. Love these shoes. I ordered several pairs from Zappos before finding a winner in the GT-2000 8. Thank you Zappos !

Got major blisters on both heels and that was just from walking in them. Then I tried to go for a run later and it was unbearable. Had to return.

I really, really wanted to like these shoes and kept walking in them.....now it's been probably 3 weeks. My feet ACHE for days afterwards when I walk and it's not even a 2 mile walk. My feet and toes are so sore that I stumble when I walk and am constantly rubbing and flexing my feet. I had a pair of the GT 2000s..........were a much better shoe. I needed a shoe with comfort and wanted my feet to feel constantly cushioned. That is NOT happening with these shoes. I spent a lot of money on these and now I can only wear them around the house. I am someone that takes very good care of shoes. I only wear these shoes for walking/exercise. I do not wear them outside when going to the store, work, etc. Now, I will have to spend more money on another pair. Very very unhappy with this purchase.

I have a very narrow foot, and this is now the only Asics style that is still made in a N width. I had worn both Gel Nimbus and Gel Kayano in N in the past, and with plantar fasciitis, I liked the feel of the 13 mm differential that those styles had. The GT-2000 8 fits well, but only has a 10 mm differential. What I learned from a fitness shoe professional is that the heel of this style provides more stability and support than the other styles. I have some other foot tendinopathies as well, and this additional support is helpful for comfortable extended walking. Roomy enough for my OTC orthotic. Wish the N width came in more than one color, but the black/rose gold is nice/neutral.

I have been wearing Asics running shoes for over 15 years. I like how they are wide in the toe box and the cushion and support are great. I like a flexible knit upper due to bunions that can become uncomfortable and these sneakers accommodate for that well. I just went for a 4 mile run with them right out of the box and they felt great! Thanks

I love these shoes! I ordered these shoes for my job as a CNA. I also was looking for a comfortable pair because I have plantar fasciitis. I have a narrow foot and these shoes fit perfectly. The cushion on the bottom is the best I’ve ever had(even better than my nurse mates)and they’re perfect for work.

I usually wear a 9 1/2 narrow , sometimes a 9 narrow in shoes. I take a 10 narrow in Asics. They fit well, I now have about 4 pair in different colors.

I have very narrow heels and a pretty narrow forefoot. I'm a 7.5 but wear 8.5 in running shoes to allow for foot expanding during long runs. I've worn Gel Kayanos in AA width for years and was dismayed when they stopped making them. The last time I tried GT2000's, several years ago, they were not substantial enough. However, the new GT2000 8 has all the stability features of the Gel Kayano, and I loved the fit. They are not QUITE as cushy as Kayanos, but I put arch supports in anyway, so that adds to the cushion. They are a great stability shoe for runners who overpronate.

Asics used to fit my feet like they were custom made. Not these! They are SUPER narrow, and sit a little lower on the foot. The section that goes around the back of the ankle/heel is cushioned - but it used to be formed with a cutout for the ankle bone and a tall piece in the very back. Now all of that is gone and it's just an oval opening, which allows the heel area to slide up and down when walking. The sole/base of the shoe does feel high quality, but without a good fit up top, it hardly matters. Not my cup of tea.

This shoe definitely was narrower than previous Asics have been. That said, I am hoping that wearing them will loosen up the width just a tad. Other than that they have always been an excellent shoe for my feet. Normally I am a 10.5 but always wear 11 in an athletic shoe to accommodate the thicker socks I wear.

I put them on to try out for a while in the house, then totally forgot they were new shoes. Started using them for a workout that day. No breaking in required. They're comfortable and, happily, truly narrow - which is getting harder and harder to find.

There was nothing wrong with the fit (11N), but these shoes looked dorky on me. The reflective white outline made them look even larger than they are, and my husband, independently from my opinion, said they were dorky. The good news is that they come in narrow and fit.
