BEWARE!!!! There are two different versions of the 950v3. The one with the NB symbol on the tongue is a great shoe for wide feet (I need 8.5 EE) but the version with the Baseball logo is a much shorter toe box which impacts the width and makes it too tight. The good shoe is the 950AK3 while the poor fit shoe is the 950BK3. These shoes are outstanding as referee shoes for soccer and lacrosse (the two sports I referee) as well as a good looking dress shoe. The aggressive grid pattern works well on wet turf as well as grass. I don't know how they will work on hot days with the sun roasting them, but they do have a lot of air holes over the toes and pad of the foot.

If you look closely at the shoe offering, you will see there is a 950v3 black/black 2 which has the New Balance logo on the tongue. It has a higher toe box and better fit for width (i wear 8.5 EE). As a referee shoe, this is a GREAT offering. The aggressive tread works well on turf and wet surfaces, the shoe is light and well cushioned. The only question I have is how well will it work in the summer with the sun baking it; there are a lot of air holes over the pad and toes, so we will see.

Width made huge different. Allows for comfort working the bases as an umpire.

Fit felt a little short, width was okay and since I wear an orthodic insert I cant comment on the arch support. Wear them regularly at my softball games which consist of two games twice a week.

These shoes are designed for pronators. The heels are asymmetrical with a slant to the outside.

The style was great but my husband had to reorder a full size larger.

The 950v3 is the oversized, overweight replacement for the 950v2. This is the equivalent of replacing a sedan with a minivan. They run overly wide and long; and are heavier than their predecessors. The icing on the cake is the incredibly painful blistered heel I got on only one foot. If you’re a fan of New Balance officials shoes, wait out this generation.

Normally I am an 11/4E... ordered 11/6E based on reviews... probably need 11.5/6E as toe was to close to front of shoe. These shoes are basically sized completely wrong!!! If anything, they should run big to account for heavier socks and such... so an 11/4E for more should have room without socks! For the price, I demand a lot better than this. As such not ordering anymore until the manufacturer starts making proper shoes!!
