These fit true to size for me, with good arch support. I have plantar fasciitis so that's a big plus for me. They kept my feet completely dry in a huge downpour, so five stars!

Would recommend with these notes: The Merrell Yokota 2 Mid Waterproof are very comfortable but...Although I checked true to size these are a bit narrow in the toe and extremely roomy in the heel -(lots of slipping unless you pull the top hook very tight). I have a normal foot with the toes a bit wider than the heel and I take a 7.5, which is what I ordered. Any smaller and my toes would hit, any bigger and I'd be swimming. The inside is quite solid and coarse so a heavy sock is a must. The color (granite) is much darker than the photo - dark charcoal grey and the purple is almost non-existent and is a dark grape and not a lavender shade that I'm seeing online. The light bands along the bottom really stand out. All that being said I will keep these as they really are comfortable enough, fairly light-weight and springy (not at all boxy and jarring like my Moab's), and the tread is outstanding, especially for walking in low snow and icy conditions.

These shoes are very well made, super cute, stylish, and very comfy. I think they would also keep my feet warm and dry. The only issue is that my heel lifts a little when I walk. Given all of the positives, I am trying to decide whether or not to keep...

Everything felt good except the heel was slipping. So I sent them back.

These hikers are amazing. I walk at least 3 miles a day with my dog through rain or snow year round no matter the weather, and only 2x did I need to wear my winter boots was due to deep snow. Half of our walk is down our gravel road. My ONLY complaint is that the tread wore off on the heal. These were purchased 11/19. I think this should have lasted more than 16 months for the price.

I ended up re-ordering because my regular size was just a tad too small -- that being said I wear these with a liner & a wool sock so that takes up extra room. Went on my first longer walk with them today in snow, they were great. Waterproof, and comfy!

After reading the posted reviews and comparing between other brands, I decided on the Merrill Brand Hiking Boots - the Yokota 2 Mid Waterproof Hikers. I found the boot true to size and width (7.5M). It's extremely comfortable, lightweight, flexible at the ball of the shoe and not stiff or needing any breaking in. My ankle bones and heels were spared any rubs from wearing them and they stayed waterproof. My first use of these boots was a trip to the U.P. of Michigan. We hiked the state parks, did some rock climbing, camping, waterfalls, and even the sand dunes. Great ankle and foot support the whole way. No complaints. Definitely a good decision.

Great hiking boots! Lightweight yet sturdy and stylish which is contributed by color combination and overall design! Spent 3 hours hiking on a steep and long trail and never felt any discomfort! Love to wear them with jeans or chinos and the style is great for just any other Fall outing or walk! Keep up the good work Merrell and your customers will remain yours!

I wore them for the first time on a hard trail. for the first time it felt great. I stepped into the river and my feet were dry. I would've loved if it had more grip to prevent slips.

I ordered 2 sizes as I fit between 81/2-9. 9 is typically my size and is what I wound up keeping. They were stiff at first but days into wearing them they broke in and are incredibly comfortable now. No leaks when walking through occasional puddles. I had no issues with the size 8 1/2 return. They refunded me quickly.

May actually be the most comfortable fit ever. They hug your ankles, have amazing arch support and are incredibly light.

I have been hiking in these for about 3 months. Super comfy, and they have saved my ankles from rolling on several occasions. My feet stay warm and dry. Can't wait to get my next pair!

I wasn't expecting to receive my boots before we left for Colorado, but I received them several days earlier than expected and was able to take them on the trip with me! They were a little stiff the first day, but after that they were broken in and comfortable! I wore them all day long for several days in a row, and while we weren't able to do any serious hiking, we did a lot of walking and my feet never hurt. They do run a little small, but I was expecting that and sized-up. I can't wait to wear them on the AT in a couple weeks.

Please Be Aware: I posted this same review for the Men's version of this shoe as I ordered it for my husband on the basis of my experience of the Yokota Waterproof: I am dependent on Merrill at this point ~ I have 12 and have given 4. I care more about them then I do my clothes because what I stand on (and move on) makes or breaks my day. I use my three Trail Runners most of the time for everything, but the Northwest is so sloggy sometimes. I got these to help abate that. I do love them; I am considering a second pair. They have the broad toe spread that I love about the various Trail Runners I have, plus the ability to feel the texture of the terrain below my feet. That adds what feels like a fourth field of Vision and aids in a sense of connection to very reason I live where and how I do -- connection to Nature, above, below, and around.... PS: last time I waxed poetic about a Merrill Shoe (a Trail Runner that I still have and cherish, and that does not show a day of wear yet, despite nearly daily use) I was amazed that some readers actually dissed my review. No matter, but if that was because they think I'm a "plant," I'm not; if it was a critique of my writing feel free. Run harder -- write harder.

Very comfortable, good looking and well built hiking shoes. They run SMALL though so I am usually an 8, I knew to order 8.5 and I do not have wide feet. Just take note, otherwise very happy with them! PatL

This is my first pair of hiking boots. I went with the Merrell because of brand recognition and the positive reviews I read. I've had these a short time but so far, I have found them to be comfortable and true to size. I have not gotten them wet so unable to review that aspect of them. I will add that there is ample toe room and when hiking up and downhill, I tightened the laces and had no slip so my toes were not rubbing. I do plan to purchase another pair, perhaps the Merrill hiking shoe for walks.
