Excellent lightweight fast hiker. First true hiking boot I've ever felt comfortable in. Before these I was doing 4-6 hour day hikes in rocky southwestern US terrain in trail runners. Needless to say, my feet took a terrible beating to accommodate their lightweight and flexibility. These seem to offer the best of both worlds. Moderate flexibility and light weight, but much improved fit (maybe a little narrow feeling at first, depending on what you're transitioning from), stability, and sole protection against stone bruises and the like. Nice high, roomy toe box as well. A ventilator option would be nice for the summertime, but I can live with the extra warmth of the Waterproof design. I've got well over 6 months (~1000 miles?) on these now under all conditions, including lots of pavement during the cold and snow season. Wear has been outstanding in all respects. Just now beginning to see significant sole wear, but they've easily got another 6 months or more remaining if I push them. I have a pair of these in the low cut as well that I'm just now breaking in. Nice that they're ventilators, but no comparison in the security and stability at the heel and the instep. The Mid is definitely the way to go if you prize security and stability in that area. Ordering two more pairs of these today before they decide to discontinue them or mark the prices up.

The fit was good, and the style met my expectations. However - without heavy use (I'm not an active hiker, I just use these in the rain and every now and then for a walk in the woods) the threading has started unravelling. And now the laces loop has ripped and is beyond repair (see the attached image). The rip makes the shoes fairly unusable. Won't buy from this company again.

One of the shoelace loops was broken when it arrived. Shockingly poor quality.
