I had to exchange the first shipment because they were bigger in size than what I wear. So I went a half size smaller and they fit great in both length and width. They are very comfortable, the soles are soft enough to be quiet on a hard floor and absorb impact without collecting dirt in the soles. I would buy these again and use them for yard work.

Update from the guy who complained about the tongue poking the front of my ankle... After trying comparable shoes from Rockport, Timberland, and Thursday's Boots, I re-purchased these with the mindset of wearing that tongue issue out of existence. Of course the second pair do not have that issue and are AWESOME. I wore them walking the dog in the rain this morning and my feet are dry.

Awesome shoes. Very comfortable EXCEPT... The tongue stuck out about 1/4 inch too far and irritated the front of my ankle. I had to return.

These are beautiful leather shoes. My husband is a sales manager in the commercial roofing business. He spends most of his time in an office, but sometimes has to be outside and climb onto roofs. These will go from office to roof-top perfectly, lol. These appear to be excellent quality, the sole is rugged and works with khakis, would be great with jeans, as well. He really prefers waterproof leather for the versatility, and I was having trouble finding anything close to this. We have been buying Timberlands similar to this, but they appear to have been discontinued. Rockport makes one, but are lower quality, in our experience. We cannot attest to the waterproof claim yet, but he said they feel great. He normally wears a size 12. I ordered the size 11.5 and the 12 to try, since most people said they run small. After putting in an orthotic insole, he decided to go with the 12. Another note: I ordered the dark brown so stains wouldn't readily show, but should have gotten the lighter brown because the soles are darker on them. I didn't realize the sole was quite light on the dark brown. I hope these can be his new go- to shoes. If you are on the fence, try these. I think you'll love them.

Very nice shoes. Good quality leather although I wouldn't describe it as "supple". These are casual Oxfords I doubt anyone would be wearing to an office with a suit, but you could easily pull off a Casual Friday in these. I usually wear a 15 4E. Having read the reviews here, I ordered them in 15 4E and 14 4E. The 14 4E is perfect, and the 15 4E was definitely 1/2 to a full size too large. So you might want to order down a 1/2 or full size.

I just got these, so I can’t say anything about their durability. I normally wear a size 11 or 11.5D in running shoes, and size 10.5D in oxfords. I bought a 10, and it looks bigger than the 11.5. They feel pretty comfortable, good arch support and cushioning. I’m afraid going down to a 9.5 might be too small because they taper in the toe area.

Good fit and nice quality. They are very comfortable for daily wear, and I've worn them until they are almost unprofessional.

Great shoes, comfortable from day #1. Look great and will likely be even better in the wet and colder seasons.

Nice shoes out of the box. In the process of breaking in the shoes so it is difficult to offer a meaningful review regarding comfort. Only time will tell as to wear and durability. Stay tuned . . .

The shoes fit very well, the style was perfect for wearing at the office.

Excellent shoe. Very comfortable with good arch support. I usually put gel inserts in shoes for more comfort and to ease impact on my feet and knees, but so far, I don't find these need them. I like the ways these form to the natural shape of the foot and aren't bulky like many oxfords. Stylish look without being flashy. Great with jeans or khakis. I am reluctant to spend much more than $100 for shoes, but these seem worth it.

Great shoe my second pair

I am a size 12 that needs a wider shoe. These fit perfectly right out of the box. Nice dark gray color and a soft sole. The only downside is the 48" laces are way too long. I bought 36" laces at a pharmacy and they are the perfect length.

This will be the second pair of these shoes I have owned. The first pair were too large but I kept them anyway. I had them for almost a year and reordered only this time I ordered a half size smaller. When I received them they were still too large so I returned them and ordered a full size smaller than the first pair. Zappo's is so great to work with when it comes to returns. I have not bought a pair of shoes from a store since my first purchase from Zappo's. Selection and service are impossible to beat.

I am very pleased with this shoes after several weeks of use. I wear a 9.5 D, and it was with some uncertainty - after reading about issues with the larger sizes - that I ordered a pair according to my size. They fit very well; didn't see too "long".....width good, etc. It helped to use the Rockport metric offered by Zappos. Great looking, comfortable shoe for casual wear.

My husband loves these. Went out and bought the black version. Totally comfortable (and stylish) outta the box. Hard to find comfort like this w/o the shoe looking like something Frankenstein would wear.

My husband liked these so much, we ordered the black/gray version. Extremely comfortable out of the box.. Hard finding 12 4E - so glad these worked!! Stylish in a timeless kind of way, comfy, and they fit!! Nice that in both the brown and the black, the soles are a little lighter in color, but not too much.
