Overall this is a great shoe. The cushioning is just the right amount for those long easy runs. The upper fits comfortably and the breathability is what can be expected from this type of material. The only down size is the Heel Collar. The way the stitch is made rubbed against my Achilles and created a blister after my first run. Granted I run in low show socks so from now on I will wear a longer sock with this show.

Love the look and comfort of this shoe, but they had to go back. The ankle opening is too narrow. This might have been something I could have gotten used to, but there's a seam right on the Achilles tendon, which is a perplexing design move on NB's part. Many models in the NB Fresh Foam series have the opposite of this: an upper heel that slopes away from the tendon, which feels far superior.

The back rides up way to high to the leg. So it poking you on the back of the leg.

Here's the skinny--this shoe works best for folks, like me, with skinny ankles. Admittedly, the shoe opening is pretty narrow, and it may irritate your Achilles tendon, but I have not experienced any issues as my ankles are pretty narrow. New Balance has been my go-to brand for a long time and these shoes certainly did not disappoint. Overall, the shoe is light and fairly comfortable. I would opt, however, for better support. The lack thereof can be a little painful on long, uphill runs.

Bought these for my son after seeing them in the New Balance store. He really loves them and has received many compliments on them.

Excellent running shoe. I have wide feet, and these feel comfortable and my feet feel supported in them. The upper mesh expands to fit my feet, and the shoe provides good cushion and support. The only downside as others have mentioned is the heel collar that will absolutely dig a hole in your achilles if you don't wear long socks.

The New Balance Fuelcell Echo fit my wide feet (with a narrow heel) very well and looked great but I returned them because the front 2/3 of the shoe has almost zero structure. This lead to my big toe visibly poking out the side of the shoe. The material of the upper is very soft which feels good but my wondering toes would surely rip through this material in no time. If you are prone to stubbing your toes don't even think about getting these shoes as they offer next to zero protection for you feet.

I am returning because the back of the heel cup goes up too high. Also, the width for the 2E seemed narrow. the fabric stretched to accommodate my bunion but it went over the sole. I would have made due but the too high heel cup was the deal breaker for me.

Unfortunately, on the “wall”/ back of the heel, there is a toothpick-shaped piece that protrudes into the back of my right heel (fine on the left), resulting in pain and discomfort. I cannot wear this shoe. I noticed this after running about 15 miles in it, over the course of a week and a half. A photo would not do it justice. I uploaded a video, whatever good that may do.

Very comfortable from the first run, great fit. Yes, the back of the shoe at the Achilles is a little higher than most. But I wear ankle running socks that come up high enough to prevent any chafing. I could see if you wear no-show socks it might be a problem. But they do provide a nice secure fit around the ankle. Love the blue color, though I would have chosen another detail rather than the pink/black mesh at the back, perhaps solid black. But still look great.

Great shoes! My husband loves them and chooses them primarily over all of his other shoes.

I need motion control type athletic shoes for my flat feet. However the shoe is light and comfortable.

I bought these for my husband who is extremely difficult to buy for and he loved them! He loved the style especially. The comfort was over the top he said. He did not take the off the entire evening after he got them. He has wide feet and a high instep and these sneakers were excellent for him.

The shoe is extremely comfortable. I slow jog with a mid to front foot landing. The shoes were perfect for that. Sizing was tru in length and width.

These shoes fit true to size and felt fairly comfortable but overall they looked huge on my feet and the material made them feel floppy.
