The sole is so slippery. Slips on the hardwood. Slips on the tile, slips on the carpet. I can't imagine being able to wear this boot SAFELY. Not to mention outside. Wouldn't recommend at all

I really love the style and fit of these boots, however, I ordered multiple pairs and was sent boots with scratches, indentations missing and tabs/blisters of leather hanging off them. It was disappointing considering the price of these boots. I expected boots on top condition. Instead I received boots that appeared damaged.

The fit is tailored, with the foot and lower leg embraced by soft leather that does not cut or bind around the ankles. There is no need to "break in" either the shoes or my feet. I ordered my normal size 8: the footbed has excellent arch and whole-foot support and appropriately generous space for toes during normal walking movement. I ordered the normal calf width, which I found roomy because of my extremely narrow calves. I imagine that the boot legs will hug the average-sized calf. The craftsmanship and materials are of the best quality. These boots were a big splurge for me, and I am not disappointed.

Quality: This boot is really lovely in person. I’m very impressed with the quality of the leather, Metal zipper, and overall craftsmanship. I’ll be interested to see how they hold up over the years. They smell divine. Also, the leather is not a slouchy one but there’s something to be said about how sleek they look without the over-stiffness in the ankle area that can cause a lot of discomfort during break-in. Fit: Glad I ordered a half size larger than I would usually dare go (It’s needed from the narrowing toe); it made them fit perfectly! I have average calves, and the boot fit nice and snug, just how I’d prefer to wear them. My feet are also an average width and I don’t fear the leather over-stretching and looking sloppy either. They are comfortably snug across the foot too. Comfort: Wore them for the first time on a 4hr Shopping excursion which may have been a little brave for breaking them in but although my feet were ready for the rest by the end, the boots did pretty darn well in terms of comfort. The instep of the boot does not offer as much support as I prefer (I do not have high arches) and there’s not a lot of cushion to them but as the leather wears in I’ll put a softer insert to add some extra cushion for long days. They still beat out many other brands I’ve tried for comfort. Overall, I’m looking forward to the journey with these beauties.

These are absolutely beautiful. The color, the styling...just perfect. My only issue with these (and all knee-high boots) is that they hit too high on me because I'm very petite (5'0"). If they were just a couple inches shorter and had a more narrow shaft, they'd be perfect. I anticipate they would be perfect most other peooke!

Lovely leather. I ordered the extended based on the measurement info and found them to be way too big in the leg. The 9.5 foot size which is my normal size was correct. Overall, the boot was not as fitted as I had expected. I'm going with the Melissa button instead.

This boot is very nice-looking but the bright silver zipper broke the deal for me & I had to return them. Additionally, they didn't have any Arch support & the soles felt thin. The leather wasn't the good-quality that I've come to expect with Frye boots. (This is the 8th or 9th pair I've purchased from Zappos.) It just seems like the quality has been declining in the last 10 years...

These boots fit like a soft leather glove! I am a 8 1/2 and the 8 1/2 boot fits perfectly. I ordered the wider calf as well and the fit could not be better!

I have the Carson booties, and I love these tall boots just as much. I was looking for slightly more dressy boots this time though, so I’m sending these back. I’ll watch these and if they go on sale, I’ll probably buy them. Very soft leather - just what I expect from Frye.

I wear between an 8.5-9 and ordered the 8.5. They fit beautifully. The leather is nice but does seem a lower quality than some of the older Frye boots in my closet. Also, I noticed that these boots are stamped "Made in Mexico" on the inside of the shaft. Overall, they're a nice, classic tall boot.

The fit and style were beautiful. I loved these boots but the soles were slippery! I could not believe there was not a rubberized sole with some sort of texture to prevent slipping and provide traction. They are my first pair of Frye boots and I'm afraid I'll not buy anymore for fear of getting another set of soles like these. My favorite brand, Born, always has slip-proof soles. I'll stick with them. It's too bad because I did love the Frye boots.

The size is true to my size. I love the leather as it is a high quality. I love these boots, they are the best pair I have ever had. I would definitely recommend them.

Ordered 8.5 extended in Mahogany. Beautiful boot wore them right of the box first time with no problems . I have a 15” calf am 5’5” for reference they fit perfect. The soles are typical Frye and will become less slippery with wear. The zipper on the mahogany is not silver more bronze and looks great. Even better I got these on sale and am considering purchasing in another color. Love Frye

Well, they're Frye so of course the quality is outstanding, but the comfort is there as well. The longer I wear them, the better they feel. They started molding to my feet day one.

I have slightly larger than average calves at 14.75 inches. I bought the wide/extended calf version of this beautiful boot. The calf on this boot fits Like an average width - not what I would call wide calf boots. I understand Frye runs Narrow through the calf - but for a wide calf boot I expected better. These measured not quite 15 inches. I measured them and then had my cobbler measure them to verify and ask if they could be stretched enough for me to wear - answer was a maybe. So had to return. Very disappointed. I would have kept the boot if I had been able to zip them up.

I'm so excited!!! After struggling for years of buying and sending back ( even gave a pair away to my sister that I waited too long to send back), I finally found one that fits, well, actually two because after the brown fit, I purchased these in black. The calf, (15") the leather, fit and style are perfect. My search and struggles are finally over. Thanks Frye.

Great looking boots! I bought a half size larger (8.5 instead of my usual 8.0) and the fit was perfect. High quality leather. Like most Frye boots, there is no liner; if you like a liner, this one is not for you.

They're beautiful but I can hardly get them on. Just don't go on smoothly.

WHEW! Finally, calves that fit! I just discovered that the extended size is what I need in a Frye boot to fit my muscular calves into! A few months ago I bought 2 colors of Frye Melissa Button boots in what I thought were wide calf, but it took 3 trips to the cobbler and some extra breaking in at home to finally get them zipped up. (They’re worth it!). But the extended size Frye Carson’s zipped right up on arrival! They ARE tall...since I’m 4’11” they hit right at the back of my knee joint, but not in an uncomfortable way. The pewter color is a lovely stone/putty shade of grey. Hurray! I also sized up 1/2 size.

The fit was true to size, I usually get a half size larger for most dress shoes and boots but ordering my true size worked perfectly. I love these boots, they are tailored and I have enough room for jeans or leggings. These boots are well made and look great, I am not disappointed in any way. They will be great for fall.

I really liked these but the top of one of the boots winged out and looked weird. Maybe if you wear with pants tucked in it’s fine but I also want the option of wearing them with a dress and the top just stuck out weirdly on me. Quality is excellent and I love Frye but these were not for me.

This is my second pair of Frye's. I bought my true size and opted for the extended calf so it wasn't too snug around my calves... I like having a little room at the top of the boot so legs appear slimmer.. Also I can wear then with Jeans no problem ... not too tight around legs.. felt comfy right from day one, and the quality is the best! Buy them...

These are the perfect boots! Comfy all day. True to size. Small heel. Color is gorgeous! I love them!

The boots are beautiful, but they run small in the shaft. I could not get them zipped around my calves. I've never had to buy wide shaft boots before, and this is a first. Other than that, the boots are what you'd expect from Frye -- known for great craftsmanship and quality. I'll try to exchange for wide calf size.
