I was so excited when these boots arrived! I waited a week for delivery due to inclement weather. When I tore open the box, my heart sank. These looked like cheap boots from China, not the Frye quality I’ve come to expect. Turns out, they ARE made in China. Cheap quality, no classic Frye embossed logo, faux shearling. I thought they were counterfeit! Turns out, this is Frye and Co., a subsidiary of Frye. Cheap, cheap, cheap! Don’t waste your money if you want Frye quality. If you want something that looks like it would cost $59 at TJ Maxx, these might be the boots for you. Going back!

I really like this boot. Very comfortable and a great look. The quality was nice as well. Not cheaply made.

I have read reviews of this boot on other websites that were not so favorable, but I decided to take a chance and purchase them anyway, and I'm glad I did. The negative reviewers cited sub-par fit and quality compared to retail Frye, but I didn't expect that I would get the same quality and fit as that of the more expensive retail Frye. Frye & Co. is Frye's answer to those who don't want to or can not afford to pay several hundred dollars for a pair of boots/shoes, and I feel that they do a great job of filling that need. I found these boots to be a bit on the stiff side, but I'm sure they will soften over time with wearing, and the heel looks a little weird - almost like a picture of wood as opposed to actual stacked wood - but that is probably one of the ways Frye has made these more afforable. I love the contrast of the soft yellow laces against the faux shearling. None of the issues that made these boots more affordable than their retail Frye counterparts are off-putting, and I think these boots are a win. I own at least a dozen pair of retail Frye boots and shoes, and I think these will be a nice addtion to my ever-growing collection, which now includes Frye & Co. I'm sure I will enjoy these for many seasons.

I just received these and was very excited as the images looked really good. In comparison, the leather was not very good quality - It is not sturdy looking as the mainline Frye quality I'm familiar with. I had to question the materials because, we know they have pretty good faux skins these days and there was no "leather mark" (the flattened animal skin logo) on the boot??!! My husband swears up & down that they're not leather, which led me back here to double check the item description & also leave this review. I must mention that they fit beautifully, and are very comfortable. I am going to keep them, and hope they wear well.
