I really like the style of these boots, but had two big problems with my order. The first was that the 38 is enormous on me. I usually don't wear larger than a 7.5, and went with the 38 to accommodate thicker socks in cooler weather, but I would still need to order a 37 if I didn't want my foot sliding a half inch back and forth. I would have done just that, except for a much bigger problem: as soon as I started adjusting the laces tighter, the metal bits that hold the laces in the boots started popping out, on both boots. I'm disappointed, as I would have tried the smaller size.

My saga with the Free People Eberly continues! After ordering my first pair, and having the grommets which hold the laces in fall apart as I tightened them, I decided to give another pair a try. I ended up needing the 38 after all (they felt too big at first, but the 37s were much too small, as the toe is quite pointed). The problem is that the grommets pulled apart right out of the box on the second pair of size 38s I received. I decided that I loved the fit and feel of the boots themselves, though, given their unique shape, and that I wanted to save them. This necessitated taking them to a cobbler to address the lace holders. He said they could not be fixed, and it cost nearly $100 to have all of them replaced. So, this pair of boots has wound up costing me closer to $250, which was a lot more than I wanted to pay. Free People, if you are listening: your lace-up system has some big problems!

Took one step and 4 eyelets popped off. Didn't even have a chance to try on the other shoe. The problem others have reported has NOT been fixed! Clearly a manufacturing problem. Too bad they were vey cute.

Love the looks & fit of this boot. The very first time I was putting it on the grommet broke lose. I’m so sad about this. Please do something to correct this problem.

A metal button the lace goes through was missing on one shoe and now my size is out of stock so I can’t even switch them for a different pair. Real bummer. Maybe not the best quality.
