These are running shoes-- I'm not a runner. I wanted a shoe for the gym, treadmill, etc., and used to buy walking shoes. I love these shoes! They accommodate my wide feet, and provide stability and support. I never feel like I'm going to fall or trip, which is important at my age (73). Maybe I'll run...

I tried two Spira shoes because they are a brand I had not seen that comes in 4E. I have really wide duck feet (thanks, Dad). These run large, I have to return them, but they do seem to take the extra-wide seriously. I frequently return WW shoes because they are not wide enough. These are plenty wide, and seem like they will not slip on the heel in the correct size (another problem I have). They look very well made (better than NB and Brooks are lately), but they are also quite heavy. They have more leather than most running shoes do these days.

Gosh, I thought these were going to be so great . . . and I think they *are* a good quality shoe, but to be honest, they feel like those old oxford saddles I used to wear in middle school in the late 70's. That's to say, they're pretty stiff. I get it -- they prevent your foot from rolling but you get used to the light "nothingness" of shoes today -- and by comparison these make me feel like I'm walking around with one of those 1 lb wrap weights on my ankle. Can't say I love them but I'm going to keep trying to break them in. I walk 3 to 5 miles most days. The past couple days I can only do 3 wearing these. They do look sharp! They do seem a little roomy too. I ordered a 6.5, my usual size in a pump or sandal but in a tennis shoe, I normally size up based on the the thicker footy socks I wear. No need to size up and I am grateful to the others who commented to the same effect, letting me know which way to size. I did put my orthotic arch under the top pad and that helped alot with the extra roominess. They actually fit very nicely now and I do like the way they look, they're just heavier than I'm used to when walking.

I have a difficult time finding my wide width footwear, but these sneakers do the trick. They are very wide and comfortable especially with my baby toe that usually get smashed in other types of sneakers.

Gave it a 2 instead of 1 because I was SO excited about width, SO happy about the width and depth of the toe box. However, PLEASE make these shoes non-stability and without a steel plate running the length of the shoe. Inflexible is an understatement. The tiny little bit of memory foam, even with my orthodic, was no match for the steel plate.

My husband loves Spira shoes so I thought I would give them a try. They definitely are comfortable underfoot. Because I know they have springs, I felt I could tell where they were under my foot but if I didn't know they have springs, I likely wouldn't guess this is the case (sorry for the spoiler!). For me, they were stiffer than I like in an athletic shoe and a big clunky.

I love the look and comfort of this shoe but did not like the way the laces were threaded through a string. I am sending this pair back because one broke putting the shoe on.

This shoe felt slightly narrow compared to several other brands I tried in the same size. Chose to keep this one because it is made specifically for walking. The upper is soft, breathable and supportive.

First thank you Zappo's for exsisting! I have returned more shoes for our daughter than we have kept. Every brands idea of Wide, 2EE, 3EE and 4EE is not the same and not wide enough. My 13 year old daughter has wide flat feet and needs custom foot orthotics that inturn require a wider shoe. Becoming teenager the struggle to finding cute/stylish/popular shoes increased tenfold. Typically we are lucky to find tennis shoes and summer sandals that 'work' for her. The struggle is real and returning cute shoes is hard/sometimes sad for both of us. I am alsways checking on Zappos for new arrivals. To my surprise the Spira Cloud walker 4EE in size 7 was TOO wide. We went with a 2EE in black. Granted it is a tennis shoe but it looks like any other tennis shoe not old lady and orthopedic. The shoe appears well made with a good sole and uppers. Our search continues for booties and other styles in wide. Thank you Spira!! Thank you Zappos!!!

The fit couldn’t be much better. I ordered a 7 but my bug toe is pushing the end so I’ll probably need to go up half size. I got the D width and it is perfect for my slightly wide foot with Tailors bunions on both feet. However, I also have hallux limitus and these shoes are putting pressure on my painful toe joints, so be aware of that.

Fantastic fit! It’s nice to find some shoes that will accommodate my wide feet and my new orthotics, without pinching my toes.

I ordered my usual size, an 8.5...these felt a full size too large. The width felt true to size. I can't comment on comfort since they are too large and need to be returned. They are heavy/bulky.

They are very comfortable and fit just right. I have wide feet and a moderate bunion on my left foot and there is no problem. They are nice looking.

The cushioning in these shoes is aMAYzing; I wish they had worked out. I typically wear a .5 - 7 W - WW; ordered these in 7 W, since the reviews seemed to indicate that they were roomy. I walked around in them, trying to decide if they were too narrow or not. I finally decided that no, they weren't too narrow, but something was still off. I finally checked the toe space and I had a solid inch of room past the end of my big toe...they were too long! That was why they felt awkward on my feet. So...back they go. I may at some point try the 6.5 WW, but I had also ordered a pair of Asics Gel Venture 7's that fit, so I kept those.

Like others say, these are heavy shoes. You feel it when you pick them up. But importantly, with size 7 4E feet, I rarely have a shoes be 100% comfortable out of the box. These were. And they don’t really feel heavy when walking. If I wanted to run in them, that might be different.

I am so happy I found these shoes. Finding shoes for extra wide feet that actually fit has been a chore. These shoes are comfortable and stylish. My only criticism is that the soles are quite slick. When walking outside, I need to be quite careful around wet areas. But other than that they are amazing. I will be buying a pair in every color!!!

I was torn about keeping these shoes. I am looking to replace a pair of New Balance that I find to be fatiguing after 3-4 hours of wear. These feel the same way-my foot seems to slide around in them. Cannot order a smaller size as then the width will not accomadate my bunions. Am very grateful Zappos lets me try to so many different pairs of shoes. Am hoping to find the right one for my troublesome feet.

These are really nice shoes, very high quality, but I had to return them. They were just a little too small & narrow. I'm thinking about reordering and going up a size & width. It's so nice that there are wider width options available from Spira, I really appreciate that.

The fit is really good on these shoes. I have a wide foot and the 4E width is hard to come by. Unfortunately, the shoes completely lack arch support. The insole is removable but it is completely flat. Do they assume you will add your own orthotic? They are a little more stylish than the usual wide shoe, although they still have the look of orthopedic shoes, in my opinion.

I need a shoe with a good arch support and was really hoping these shoes would deliver however the arch support is very minimal so instead of using them for walking shoes now they are just going to be "nice kick around" shoes.

In less than three months these shoes were shot. I'm on my feet all day and I need a solid shoe for wide feet. Going back to the Drew Flare!
