These fit perfectly and are very comfortable - they are a sturdy boot. I like the height - a previous reviewer thought they had a gap at the top but at least for me that didn't happen. The laces seem high enough. (see photo) There is a pull-up tab at the back. If you are looking for a boot that's in-between ankle height and knee-high, I highly recommend these.

These are really my dream boots. I love the height, not so tall that they bother my legs when I cross them, not so short that they look funny with dresses. I had to order a size up to get enough toe room, but that's due to my crazy feet which are not only two different sizes, but have extra narrow heels and a wide, tall toe area. Since they are really too long I do feel my heel slipping up a bit, but they are still very comfortable to wear for long periods of time and that's a miracle for my feet. They do not have zippers, and I was afraid that would be time-consuming as it takes me quite a while to lace my Frye Veronica combat boots, but these are a breeze to put on! These are going to get lots of wear this winter.

I have been a solid Born customer for many years, almost solely purchasing Born boots for 15-20 years. Historically I loved their classic style and preferred them because they were European made, which tends to be higher quality. The last pair I purchased was five years ago, the Born Zelia boot, which appeared quite similar to this 'Neon' boot in pictures online. This new version basically appears nearly the same at a distance (aside from a more pointy toe box, which I don't like) but up close, even just removing it from the box, the appearance and quality of the leather feel more like something from Payless Shoe Source. I have slightly narrow feet and have always taken an 8.5 in Born and all shoes (rarely a 9, due to a slightly longer 2nd toe) but Zappos recommended an 8 in these. The 8 was actually a bit too long on me, but there's no way I could size down to a 7.5, would be too narrow. These boots just didn't feel or look great in any way. I'm not sure how many years it's been since Born has started manufacturing in China, but I'm now hesitant to purchase from them again due to the quality of this shoe. It's disappointing, will be looking for a new brand moving forward unless they happen to get their act together.

I would never have purchased a Born boot in a size 7 without Zappos telling me that was their recommended size. I have several Born boots - all in a size 7 1/2. Zappos was exactly correct. Not only did these boots fit but the fit was roomy.

These boots seem well made and sturdy, but there's just something about them that seems off about the design. They are taller than they look in the picture, yet the eyelets don't go all the way to the top, so the upper part of the shoe just sort of hangs open. It's not designed to fold over like some boots. It's just open. The height also seems awkward for this type of boot, like it should either be shorter or taller. The boot itself is roomy and I would say it felt wider than marked. I really wanted to like these, but they just left me feeling quite underwhelmed.

These boots looked beautiful and so well crafted as born boots go— always excellent. I wear a half size smaller in this brand and usually perfect but unfortunately they felt bigger even then. Very wide and too roomy in the toe I had to return them. I liked the height up the leg but they also did not feel secure on my feet as the laces did not go full height. I would have ordered them again but felt I needed to properly foot size them someplace else. FYI my feet are average M width, 7.5 born. 95% of the time they are perfect!

I love, emphasis on LOVE, these boots! I had been on the hunt for this streamlined combat for a couple of years so was really excited when I found these! The leather looks shiny and rich in person. I was concerned about that as the stock photo of the boot looks dull and inexpensive. They are true to size (I’m a 9) I wore them all day today at work and was comfortable. I work retail and am on my feet for hours at a time. So excited to wear them with skirts, leggings and jeans! You won’t regret this purchase

Overall, a really nice boot. Not too stiff or too soft. I have a high arch, so more support would be nice, but I think for most people it would be plenty.

Love, love, love! Can’t wait to wear these outside in rain, snow or any weather element. I’m an 8 and they fit perfectly. Great looking and very comfortable.

This is a solid boot and lined for winter wear. The quality appears to be very good; however, the boot was a half size too small. This frustrates me because I own three other pairs of Born boots and they are all one half size Too Large. I'd recommend these -- I just wish that they would have fit.

The fit was perfect and the boots were comfortable. They worked well with my narrow calves, but the style was hard to wear because it comes up to about mid-calf on me. Wearing over leggings or slim fit pants didn't give the look I was after. I ended up returning because I felt like these boots weren't flattering on me.

If you're looking for feminine styled combat boots, then you should try these. Not at all bulky or chunky. Overall the fit was very comfortable and the leather was typical Born. However, I did have to order multiple pairs because I noticed the leather on a couple seemed dull. The only issue that some might have, especially petite women, is that the boots are taller then most combat boots I've seen.

I absolutely love these boots. I wanted a full-leather, black jump boot style boot that wasn't clunky or masculine looking. I love Born- I have a few pairs of tall boots by both Born and BOC which have held up beautifully over years and a lot of wear. I knew they would be worth the money, but I also got a great deal on them so they were 100% worth it. I have worn them nearly every day since they came in and I never want to take them off!

Finding these boots was a true test of Zappos amazing customer support...I ordered and returned at least five pairs of boots, not counting the one boot that ended up damaged in transit, so it went back by itself. There aren't all that many good looking medium height lace up boots, and my old pair of Timberlands have seen better days. I prefer them with side zippers, which the pair I fell in love with doesn't have, but they fit so well I don't really care. I liked the look and style of the Steve Madden Troopa combat boot, but they don't come in half sizes and the 8 was too small and the 9 huge. Plus, the quality just isn't there. I found the Born Neon in a dark brown, which I wanted, and they were like slipping on a well worn, comfortable pair of boots. Light weight and dressy looking with a good pull tab at the back to make them easy to slip on. You can't fake quality, and these just look really classy. I wish I could personally thank every one of the customer service people at Zappos who helped me finally find exactly what I wanted. You don't get customer service like theirs anymore.

LOVE these boots! I expected the quality of the boot itself to be good, but the soft inner lining was a bonus. I wore these all over NYC just days after purchase and my feet were comfortable and warm. I'm typically a 10.5, but the 11 fits well with a medium-weight sock. Highly recommend.

Love these! I have wide feet and have struggled to find a pair of lace up combat style boots like this that weren't too narrow. They dont make my feet look like boats and the little bit of padding makes them ultra comfortable. So cute and well made!

These boots are awesome. I have a really hard time finding shoes that I like and are comfortable enough to wear but I've had good luck with the Born brand before. The fit is true to size, leather is really nice and soft and they're COMFY!!! I got them a day before leaving for Las Vegas and wore them and nothing else around for four days, walking an average of 5 miles a day and had no issues. I don't feel like I've ever been able to say that about a boot before. Comfy! I love the height personally, I read some reviews that thought they were a strange height but I think they're very cool with skinny jeans or leggings - very rock and roll. I was trying shoes on in DSW and a lady literally picked up this boot from the floor (while I was trying something else on) and I had to tell her they were mine. She was like wow - these are really nice! Great buy.

Was too large and felt wide for my normal size 9 in Born. Even after tightening the laces along the top of the foot, the boot was still too wide and kept rolling outward. Maybe those with a wider foot might fit better. Also, as others have said the top of the boot stops at an awkward height with the laces stopping rather short of the top of the boot. Comfort was there, but this particular boot did not work for my foot.

I don't know what inspired me to order a half size up on these boots (past experience with boots usually led me to order up) but no need with these. I'm usually a 9 in flats and heels, and so it would seem I should order a 9 in these as well. Will be returning the 9.5 I received. Other than the size snafu, these are well made boots, the leather is thick and the inside lining is very cozy. Excited to get my proper size in the next day or so.
