Well, what can I say about the quality of Adidas in 2019? Yuck!!! I'm a baby boomer who wore Adidas' in the 70s and 80s. This style is similar to what we wore back in that era. They used to be made of quality, soft leather that moved with your foot. This shoe is "similar" to the one Freddie Mercury wore for the Live Aid concert, but I can't imagine that he could have moved like he did if he had worn these current Adidas'. There's no arch support. The leather is sooooo stiff that you can't flex your foot. Your foot sort of flaps down on the floor/ground. I wasn't willing to take the chance that this shoe would eventually break-in and become flexible and soft??? I'm sure Adidas doesn't read these reviews, but maybe Zappos does and can pass along this suggestion: if Adidas made this shoe in an upscale, quality and soft leather, and sleek style (not dad, mom, or grandparents shoes), Adidas could make some money selling them to us boomers.

The old $50 sambas were getting cheap; thin, squeaky (yes, squeaky), low quality. Adidas revamped the samba and made them high quality again. Like one reviewer said, they will seem stiff for a bit. They WILL break in. The leather is more substantial compared to recent years, but after break-in they will feel sturdy yet comfortable. I wear them for everyday shoes and for working out. The sambas have returned to the amazing form that has made them so popular for so many decades. Wore them as a kid in the 70s. Wearing them now as an active dad. Worth the money, especially if you know sambas.

I love these shoes. I've been buying them repeatedly for years, every time they get worn out I automatically replace them. I have very high arches so I now put my own supports inside, but I used to go without them and I was fine. I use them as my commute shoe and a casual going out shoe. They'd probably work well as cross trainers too.

The Samba shoes are not the most comfortable shoes out there, in fact they take a while to adjust to. However, they look very good, its an item that everyone must have for its durability and style, the material used to make these shoes is noticeably of quality. Buy half a size down and walk with them for a bit, they will feel tight at first but they will adjust. Buying your original shoe size will feel very loose.

shoes look great, but run big (I wear a women's 7.5 and sometimes go to 8 for athletic shoes - for these I need a 7 (if not smaller))

I hadn’t bought sambas in so long I’d forgotten how comfortable they are. For like a glove right out of the box. I’m a women’s 8 (and a men’s 6 1/2 fit perfectly)

I bought a pair of these last year and they were amazing. This years models are much more narrow, to the point that I cannot wear them. Very disappointing

My husband loves the way the shoe fits and feels. However, I found the same shoe for less than half the price on Amazon after I ordered.
