BUYER BEWARE I love these pants, but just saw a tag on the pants that they are treated with a pesticide, dimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride. As someone who doesn't always wear undergarmets, I am NOT OK with an antimicrobial pesticide coming close to my lady parts, no matter how "safe" it may be. Columbia does not have this information available to the consumers before they buy these, and I will not be wearing these again. This chemical may be in their other products as well!

These are my favorite pants of all time. I'm 5'5", 135 lbs, curvy. These pants are so lightweight and made of the best material with enough stretch so they seem to fit everyone perfectly I think. They are very flattering. They are PERFECT travel pants. They don't take up any space and although they look wrinkled when you first take them out, the wrinkles fall out when wearing them. I have ordered them in every color now. In the pant and in the capri. I live in the capris at home and travel in the pants. Can't recommend them enough. I do have to order the short length in the pant which is a 30" inseam. The regular length must be about 34", they were very long on me.

I love these pants! I found my first pair of these in a consignment shop and bought them on a whim. Lucky me! What I most appreciate about these is that they are light enough to wear in Florida during the summer. The are also stretchy and comfortable. I like the lower rise, straight cut in the waist because I'm not a very curvy girl. I am 5'7", 130ish lbs and the size 6 regular works best for me. I also like the Saturday trail pant but I wear that in a size 8.
Zappos Customer Service is awesome! On my first order I thought I ordered the wrong size and I panicked because I didn't want to pay the return shipping.. This was on a Sunday afternoon. I called Customer Service and they answered the phone promptly. The Customer Service Rep reminded me that shipping is free, both ways. She was polite and patient and helped me place a second order for the correct size. As it worked out, I ended up receiving the best sizes for me in this style and the Trail Pant from both orders and easily shipped the others back. Way to go Zappos!

I want to love these pants and fabric. Perfect for traveling. Great for warm weather. They sit low on normal people which means they are at my waist since I'm short. I have a really hard time finding pants that fit, but now they are pilling. Badly. Yes, it's between the thighs and in the crotch area and my normal method for removing pilling isn't working.

I own 6 pairs of these pants. Very comfortable and can also be dressy. When I travel I always carry a couple pairs. Straight from the suitcase they appear wrinkled but in just a couple minutes the wrinkles are gone. No Ironing needed! They are relaxed in the upper leg but still lay nice enough to be considered dress pants. Bought my first pair 4 years ago and they still look nice. I hang dry so mine have never been in the dryer. They dry very quickly. Good for both hiking and going out for dinner.

I am very picky about pants, and LOVE these. So flattering - and I don't look good in pants. They have the right amount of stretch without being baggy. I wear them frequently on international flights and barely notice them. Seriously. I have ordered multiple pairs in case Columbia sells out or stops making them.

I wore these on a 35 mile backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon that required descending a boulder field whose angle of repose was nearly 90% and which was the equivalent of descending from a skyscraper from the top to the river. I ended up sitting on my butt and scooting over the rocks as standing up presented too many opportunities to fall or dislodge a boulder. I fully expected to have holes in my pants when I got to the bottom. Instead, these pants only suffered minor pilling. It was nothing short of a miracle. I also wore them in 90+ degree temps and never felt hot. They offer incredible mobility with awesome stretch in all the right places. I love love love these pants. And plan to buy more!

Others said they were too small but I'm typically an 8/10 and can wear a 6 in Columbia. These were no different

I’m constantly on the hunt for pants and shorts i can wear on walks and hikes that aren’t cotton, and arent leggings. These are perfect. The pants are not tight in the waist, the waistband isn’t constricting, and they are flattering for hiking pants. They are water resistant, and dry quickly if saturated. They’re the kind of material that will be comfortable even on hot days, yet will keep you warm in fall. My only complaint is they’re a little too long even in the short length, but I’m 4’10” so that’s normal for pants - i will fold them or pin so they don’t drag. I bought these pants after falling in love with my Columbia anywhere outdoor shorts, and am glad i did!

I bought these pants (in 4 colors!) a few years ago. They're lightweight for summer, durable for hiking, stretchy and comfortable, and nice enough for the office. I've gained weight over the last 2 years, and couldn't keep them snapped anymore, so I ordered a pair 2 sizes larger. I pulled them on and they felt the same as my old pair! I held them up side by side and they were shockingly identical. Another friend told me she had the exact same experience.
5 stars for the product, 1 star for the sizing.

Great pants that are no longer being made. The sizing is different than those purchased three years ago. A size twelve fits more like a ten and the size ten is more like an eight

Zappos was the only place I could find these pants. I had purchased them at a store years ago and wanted a couple other pairs. Bought new ones in black and in gray. They are great for yoga as an alternative for body-hugging leggings. They have the type of fabric that's perfect summer or winter. You can even wear them to bed if you are too weary to change your clothes! Breezy and breathable. Fabulous fit. Wash and hang up to dry. No ironing. Perfect for travel. Came in especially handy while recovering from knee surgery as they stretch to accommodate the swelling and can be lifted up to examine the incision at the doctor's or the physical therapist's office.

I applaud the customer for being environmentally conscious in regards to the dinethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride as a preservative in clothing. This chemical is used as a fungicide and preservative. I suspect what she read & mis-interpreted was the elemental chemical itself & not the manufacturing process for clothing. There are multiple Regulatory Agencies that monitor this… I refer you to TSCA, an excellent source. Additionally, EPA, OSHA, Homeland, DOT… monitor chemical use, disposal, treatment and exposure. There is no documented health hazards when it is used for the purpose of preservative in clothing. Nor would it affect any body parts as you referenced. It is safe. With that said I commend you for being aware, however become an informed consumer. You are off to a good start but your concern lacks knowledge. That is ok, most folks are not chemists, environmental scientists. You would need to be a science professional to appreciate the science behind this. What you read is not relevant to this specific use for the clothing industry. Regardless, you are protecting your physiology, health, etc.
Good for you. The air we breathe presents more danger more hazards than this chemical which is safely processed to be used for this specific application. An MSDS will not help you in this narrow arena. Thank you for your contribution. Trust me…any company, person or establishment that places human life in danger via the environment is usually apprehended quickly. Please do not worry about these issues. However, the environment needs people like you. Thank you.

I have always tried to stay away from hiking pants with a zipper and snap because I have found them to be uncomfortable. I decided to give these a try and I am so happy that I did! The stretch in these pants is incredible which makes climbing up boulders and over trees a breeze. The pants are so comfortable. I don't even notice the zipper and snanp. The fit is awesome. I always wear long pants to hike, even in summer, due to ticks and things on the trail that can scratch your skin. The Anytime Outdoor pant has been great this summer in the heat. Since it is an active fit, I do think it runs a tad small. You may want to try a size up. The nocturnal is a good color, not too dark of a blue.

Great quality and true to fit. I'm 5'1 so it's hard to find nice pants that come with the option of being short.

Excellent fit . I bought size 12 short and I normally get size 12 regular when I buy other pants. Just FYI. Wash nice. Soft light weight and perfect for Florida sometimes cool mornings or evenings.

I've owned many pairs of Colombia's thicker material black pants before and was looking to get a new one for this season but didn't read the descriptions more carefully so this turned out to be much thinner/lighter weight than what I was expecting for Fall/Winter wear. However, this boot cut pants is very comfortable to wear and the fit is PERFECT for me (I am about 5'6" 120 lbs and got a size 2), so I will definitely still keep it and wear for "Anytime Outdoor."

I wasn’t sure what to expect but these fit perfectly, which is tough at 5’1”, and a muscular 145lbs. I’m normally a 4P or 6P in pants, and after reading reviews, I did order the 8P in these, and I’m glad I did. They are lightweight, comfortable, and fit great!

Best pair of pants I have EVER found anywhere, hands-down.
I'm a competitive weightlifter, so I have very muscular thighs with a small waist. My waist is a size 2 and my hips are a size 8. This big size discrepancy makes finding pants that fit a total NIGHTMARE.
The stretchy material that these pants are made with fit me perfectly without making me feel confined like jeans do. Also, because the pants feature a drawstring, it easily accommodates my waist, which is a much smaller size them my hips.
The material keeps its shape and doesn't stretch out, which is another plus. They are easily packable, you don't need to iron them, and they repel water easily.
Although the pants are advertised as trail pants, they can be easily dressed up or down. Once I realized how well they worked for me, I bought a pair in every color and I regularly wear them to work (and my office has a pretty strict dress code).
One thing to keep in mind, though, is that these pants are very thin - i.e., they're really for warm weather or temps above 50 degrees. They're too thin to wear in cold climates, or during the winter.
But on the flip side, you could wear these pants in 120-degree weather and not get hot at all because the fabric lets your skin breathe. Perfect for wearing out in the desert or for doing touristy things during the summer months.
Also, when I say the pants are "thin" I don't mean they are see-through or cheap. Ladies, you don't have to worry that your panties will show through, because they won't - I already checked :)
Overall, a fantastic pair of pants that you won't beat at North Face, Patagonia, or other comparable brands - especially if you get these pants on sale as I did. Purchase them - you won't regret it!

So these pants are really nice-looking. Thin, but nice. The problem is that the sizing is so different from the Columbia Saturday Trail pants. Waist of the Anytime Outdoor pant is much larger than the same size in the Saturday trail pant. As some have mentioned, they run long too, so I order the short length (I'm 5'4"), and it's just right on me. Again, a different fit in length than the Saturday Trail pant too. (I wear regular length in the Saturday Trail pant.)

Lightweight fabric for hot weather. The fit loosens up after you wear them but I don’t mind that. I have several colors in this style.

I love these so much. I originally had a pair of these in black and was ecstatic to see they come in a khaki as well. They do run large. I'm normally a size 14 but got the 12s for a perfect fit.

The pants fit great and are wonderful for people who have long legs, one of the few companies I can count on to have pants that fit and are always long enough. The material is lightweight and wears well, looking forward to taking them on safari next month and are super comfortable for airplane flights.
