I wanted a floral Dr Martens boot and tried this style as well as the 1460 W Victorian floral. The latter was comfortable right out of the box, at least in part because it is canvas and not leather and because it is a shorter boot and not as heavy. I've reached the stage in life where I have no interest in putting my feet through the punishing process of breaking in a shoe, so the 1490 wild botanicals went back. The size (8) was correct for my size 8 foot, but the break in period would have been significant.

These felt a little tighter than my 3 other pairs of DM boots right out of the box. They are a little tricky to get on and off but it's worth it. I've walked miles in them with no blisters and they are gorgeous. The flowers and bugs arent as bright as they look online but they are still noticeable and pretty
