I am a true lover of Vans but the 2.0 For the Makers line does not hold true. I manage a busy restaurant and need to move effortlessly from FOH to BOH at any given time. Well, these shoes are not the ones to do it in. Little or no grip on water, let alone grease. Very comfortable and stylish. But ineffective as a commercial grade slip resistant shoe. I will be going back to my reliable (yet, not very stylish) Sketchers or Shoes for Crews. If only Vans could find a way to test this product and improve upon it before marketing it to people who really rely on their shoes for safety. I would not recommend this line for food service professionals. Disappointed.

I’d read some reviews that said these shoes weren’t slip resistant but they’ve been perfect for me and I work in a kitchen where the floor is pretty much always wet

fit and style were dynamite, "non-slip" part is a joke, first time I wore them in the kitchen / BOH I almost crashed and burned, so don't buy them if your working in the service industry.

These shoes were purchased as a gift for my niece, who stands on her feet all day. She was complaining about her feet hurting and we got them for her Birthday, which was past a few days. She got them and said they fit really good and were so comfortable. She was wearing just regular Tennis shoes to work and it was killing her feet. My husband is a retired Police officer and said, you've gotta take care of your feet. So glad she now has Happy Feet!

Bought these for my daughter who works at a restaurant. She says they are comfortable and she has not had any issues with them being slippery.

I work at the register and occasionally in the kitchen, and so far the slip-resistance has been just fine. At first i was skeptical to get this pair because of the reviews on slippage, but I figured that since I worked in the register most of the time anyway it should be alright. It’s super comfy for me to stand in 8 hours at a time! Coworkers quickly noticed the shoes, too. Great buy overall

Alright. Here’s the rundown on these bad boys. I’ve been wearing vans exclusively for the last 15 years, so here’s an honest review: Nonslip: Yeah, these aren’t exactly “nonslip” like I’ve seen people getting testy about. I will say they are slip resistant, more so than regular vans. If you HAVE to wear these for work, they’re at least gonna get your employer off your back without looking like they were prescribed by a doctor. Fit: These FOR SURE run at least a 1/2 size bigger than normal vans. I’m serious. I wear an 11.5 and they fit closer to a 12/12.5 so I’d recommend ordering down. Material: I’ve had just about everything spilled on these and it’s all come off easily with a Clorox wipe. I don’t work with bleach, but it would defiantly stain them. Comfort/Support: These are dope. By far the most comfortable Vans I’ve ever owned. I work at a busy bar and I’m on my feet 9+ hours a day on a concrete floor. I’d almost wear them outside of work, but they’re kinda ugly in my opinion. I work in a tiki bar, and the bands from the cocktail umbrellas get stuck around the tread. These things are amazing. Like smothering your feet in pillows. They are definitely slip resistant but are designed to work with skate board grip tape. They are absolutely not work shoes. These are skateboard shoes.

These shoes are SICK! I have the hi-tops too and I love the lows also...Get psyched and buy you a pair!

If you’re like me you love some Vans. The style and comfort is what you would expect out of a pair of old skools. The grip is decent enough vs normal shoes. You can still slip in them if not careful but overall they get the job done and let you be yourself and show your style while working. I bartend a few nights a week and these give me some safety and personal style. I just wish they made them in other “normal” colors than black and white.

These shoes were great for my primary job where I stand for 8-10 hours at a time, so after they became worn I got the same pair for my second job. I was so disappointed that the “slip resistant” claim definitely doesn’t apply to a work environment that truly requires slip resistant soles (ie in a kitchen). They’re super comfortable and hold up extremely well, but if you need shoes that are truly slip resistant these aren’t what you’re looking for.

It fits perfectly! However, the main reason why I purchased these shoes were for work. I work in an environment that has constant wet floors and so I really needed slip resistance shoes, which these are not. I’m pretty disappointed because they are so cute and so comfortable but that does not defeat the purpose.

I purchased these for my daughter to wear to work. She is required to wear a slip resistant shoe and these are the most stylish I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately she was slipping and sliding all over, therefore made the shoe totally uncomfortable trying not to slip and fall. So bummed these didn’t work out.

Shoes look amazing because they are Vans. Bought them thinking they were actually slip resistant and took them to work, next thing you know i was literally slipping everywhere and anywhere. I couldn’t work so I went back home to my actual work shoes.
