I haven't owned a pair of loafers for at least 20 years (maybe since high school and I'm 47). In a dress-casual setting, I always wear wingtips or casual oxfords. I needed to step up my loafer-game. Unfortunately, every pair of loafers I tried were too dressy, too casual, too pointy, too patent-leather-shiny, or just plain cheap looking. These Sperry Topsfield hit the sweet spot. I prefer the rubber sole for traction. Only the bottom layer is rubber and it's low-profile so it's tough to notice. Out of the box, the shoes squeaked on hard surfaces but just a quick walk around the house and the squeak is gone. The shoes are dark brown with just the right amount of sheen. Not too shiny but not burnished or rough. These are true to size "for loafers". That is to say, order a half size smaller than athletic shoes. I wear 11 Saucony or Adidas. These are size 10.5M and just right. Perhaps a little narrow but the leather will stretch.

These are true to what is represented - well made with Sperry quality. I probably will come to like the composite welting and heel but it isn't as classy as leather. Would definitely purchase these again or another color.

This shoe runs true to size, although it's a little too snug if you wear thicker socks. I've had a pair for about a year now and wear them about once or twice a week and they still look pretty much new. The leather is easily wiped clean and the slot/penny keeper on the strap/saddle is able to keep an actual penny in it without the penny falling out. The stitching on the top of the shoe is very strong and seems to help with the shoe not expanding too much and looking "bloated" after lots of wear. Definitely works great with anything from casual attire to even semi-formal wear.

Great shoes, well made. You can tell the workman ship of these shoes are made for comfort and durability.

These are my first penny loafers and I'd say Sperry did an amazing job on the quality, design, and colorways! I got the blue suede/brown leather colorway and they look even better in person. They feel very comfortable to walk in. I had an issue with sizing at first: My feet are a sneaker size 10.5 (US), and I first tried a size 9.5. It fit comfortably but with notable heel slip. I then sized down to 9, which fit a little snug with a little heel slip. I may have thinner ankles? So I inserted large tongue pads and voila! Heel slip gone and I now own a pair of stylish and comfortable loafers.

Love loafers. Purchased Sperry on a whim and wow glad I did. I am usually a Johnston Murphy, Allen Edmunds shoe buyer. Wanted something different so tried Sperry which I use for boat shoes. After first purchase in tan I bought a second pair two weeks later in brown. These shoes a high quality, comfort right out of the box! Buy a pair or three, you wont be disappointed.

Nice dockside shoe, but after you wear it without socks, leaves your feet with stained black.

Very comfortable inside, as I wanted, in order to wear with/without socks. When I called I asked about fit/size, I was told they run true to size. I found they are a little narrow and long. I'm not sure how they will fit once they are broken in. My first time with Sperry loafers.

They look good, but out of the box it was clear they fit 1/2-1 size big. Unsure how they will break in over time as I'll be exchanging them for a smaller size.

Very nice shoe. The white stitching stands out for all other penny loafers on the market. Right side shoe seemed a little tight on the toes, but that might just be me.

This is a cute shoe, but the arch is way too high and I found these hard to walk in for any length of time.

This is a very nice pair of shoes and it would work perfectly for a discerning buyer. The leather is of high quality, giving the shoes a great gleam. However, they run about a size too big.

Great shoe but not a lot of room for custom orthotics.

(M/50/12-D) I found the fit to be a half size or better too large. I'm a 12 in just about every shoe and sneaker including every other pair of Sperrys I've purchased but these had quite a bit more room in them. Since I'm wearing them without socks, for the most part, a little extra room isn't bad, but these seem a bit excessive.
Finish is very good and I think that they'll age well. The style, of course, is a classic.

Fit was fine and styling too, but quality of leather could be better, more supple. Perhaps they’ll break in better than I think!
