I am normally a big fan of To Boot shoes. This pair seemed to be made to a new standard which is not good. The leather was like cardboard and a bit stiff around the ankles. For the price point I expected something softer and more comfortable. Like my Kenneth Cole boots have leather with a richer feel on the uppers of the boot. Bruno Magli would have the expected top end feel. The size and overall fit is good of the Henri is overall good.
I'd also recommend:
Bruno Magli, Manganni, Lowa, ECCO, Emporio Armani, Bacco Bucci

Order a half or whole size down from regular (Brannick) sizing. Had to try numerous pairs. With the exception of the size listing of 10 or 10 1/2 on the outer sole, apparently there's no difference between half and whole sizes. They feel identical, or even bigger depending on the fat foot that tried it out before me. On a Brannick I am a slightly narrow 10.5. The boots are a half size off and run large. As a size 10.5, the 10.5 Henri is going to feel like an eleven, but, a 10 was no different, with the exception of the embossed size number (10 and 10 1/2). Soles and uppers are same dimensions. That all said, the trouble I went through to determine which pair fit best makes this boot even more loved! It is a rare moment indeed to find dress cap toes that fit a wider toe splay.

I needed to try a couple different pairs. Some were stretched and or not treated well by other prospective buyers (Meanwhile I keep shoe trees in mine, whether I keep them or not). It's early but am liking these quite a lot.

Zappos better allow editing of reviews.
So far, I love this boot....a lot. lol like freakishly!
My only real complaints are: 270 degree welt, leaving heal vulnerable. No heel/ Achilles reinforcement trim......and (listen up To Boot NY) bloody weakest laces on the market. Im sure my boots were tried by at least one other person, because the laces were SHREDDED.....but I suppose if one must cut corners, the laces are an easy place to do it. Be prepared to by quality boot laces for boots with tight blind eyelets and lace hooks...TBNY isn't offering much there.
All that said.....I'm still happy on day 3
Zappos better stasrt allowing editing of reviews or the stars rating system will not be an accurate means of making any decisions

Please ignore my two above recent reviews, posted in haste, without option to delete or edit.
And regarding the other complaints of ankle discomfort--If you have a model with a fully lined tongue you may notice ankle discomfort unless you can adjust the tongue. I've noticed the partially lined tongue, unlined edges is much more comfortable.
I have a wider toe splay making dress cap-toe boots, and, especially shoes a hard fit, due to the medial edge of the right big toe often rubbing the edge of the welt, where the sole lifts slightly at an angle--horribly irritating. With these I do not have the same issue. The cap is just broad enough for toe space, whilst retaining the aerodynamic/sharp appearance of an "almond toe". Nice looking boot. Requires minimal breaking in.
Dear To Boot New York: Please continue to offer a boot without metal lacing eyelets! These little metal rigs are thicker and often press into the "instep bone".
If there's an issue in the future, hopefully Zappos will allow full editing

Fit of boots seems great. Only real comfort issues are the stitched tag, which would wear out soon, and is more of a hypersensitivity. Lining appears to be all leather. Perhaps the footbed lining is synthetic, but feels soft, like leather if it isn't. Boot is lighter and not as durable in appearance as expected. Stitched welt is not full 360 degree--heal is not stitched. speed clips for lacing appear somewhat fragile, as one was bent outward, and readjusted a bit too easily. Welt binding has a gap. Guessing these are possibly factory 2nds(I'd hope).

Edit: I can feel the back seem of the boot pushing against my heel. These are slated to be returned.

Generally very disappointed in these boots. They really hurt around the ankles when I wear them and I had thought that maybe this was temporary due to them being brad new but after wearing them a few times, they are still killing my feet. And now, it's too late to return them. So I'm left with an expensive pair of boots that hurt my feet when I wear them with no option for a return. Super.
