As a owner of the lightweight rho gloves, I was looking for something that fit the bill for 30-40 degree F weather and running/nordic skiing.
The fit of these mittens is spot on if you use the unisex fitting guide. I have enough room to wear the rho gloves underneath, but also air is captured in the mittens for warmth. They are supple, flexible and grip well with dexterity aplenty.
The mittens fit well underneath the sleeves of my trino or atom sl jacket, even if I have my garmin watch on as well over both. The cuff is not incredibly stretchy, but the stitching is good.
Wind and water resistance appear great based on a 5 mile run in heavy rain and 20 mph winds in 40 degree weather. The octa insulation is thin, but appropriately warm for above 32 weather.
My plan is to use these mittens for high intensity work in the winter. The ability to layer these over a thinner glove like the rho or a Marino wool glove should make them comfortable for weather well into the 20s.

I got these mittens as an option for high-output touring days that are cold where I want the breathability of Gore-Tex Infinium, but the warmth of a mitten. These mitts are super light and packable, and they have kept me warm in dumping snow in single digit weather standing in a parking lot at dusk, warm and wind protected touring in Utah, and dry and not overheating while booting up a couloir in the spring time (and stuffing my hands in the snow a lot). They are warm but breathable, and they dry incredibly quickly. I can also use my cell phone while wearing them. The perfect mitten!

This mitten is pretty warm. The only thing I'd recommend to Arcteryx would be to allow for the portion that surrounds the wrist to be a bit more stretchy-- the XS is almost hard to put on due to lack of give from the wrist seam but the mitten part seems to run a bit large, which was why I sized down. My other suggestion would be to include exterior clips to link these gloves together when they're not in use to avoid losing one of them.

I have Raynauds so my fingers always get cold in finger gloves, and most mitten style gloves are very thick -- too thick for city living or running. These mitts are the best mix of warmth, reasonable water and wind resistance without being bulky. So good my partner keeps stealing them -- we have both been reaching for them on a daily basis since I bought them in November. They keep my fingers perfectly warm on hikes in winter on the West coast, though they're likely a bit thin for skiing and boarding. Please make more so that I can buy another pair!

I bought these Venta mittens last fall for running before I ever needed them. Good thing I did good luck finding a pair now.
I normally run in a Rho glove until temps drop below -5C then I run in the Venta mitten.
The Venta is absolutely perfect for running in cold weather. By it self, I can run until -20C. When it's colder than -20C I add the Rho glove. Together, I've ran in -31C with a windchill of -40. No problem at all.
On its own, moisture management is very good - my hands never feel damp or wet, even on my longest runs; 15 - 20kms
When I add the Rho gove, while the glove gets a bit damp on the longer runs, my hands have stayed wam.
Also, the dexterity of the mitten is excellent. Operating zippers is easy along with my Garmin or iPhone.
One consideration, I wear an XL and while it fits okay, there's not a lot of breathing room when the (very thin) Rho glove is added. Minor issue, but if the designers are looking to make a change, a slight increase in size for bigger hands or come up with a XXL.
Very happy with my purchase.

Great glove when used with the RHO Glove as they compliment each other.

This mittens are surprisingly warm for how thin they are. Even if your hands are cold starting your run they soon heat up. I find them good to -10C.

Mittens are the only gloves that keep my hands warm and these are even gortex. I was super surprised at how nice the quality and design is. I bought my husband a pair also!

I carry these as emergency mitts for summer trail running, and layer them with the rho glove for winter. They block wind and are a must-have piece of gear for multiple seasons!

These mittens have been used skiing walking running and driving all winter. I am amazed how well they have kept me warm in various conditions. Really wonderful. They were more warm that I imagined them to be. Excellent purchase.

Great option for hiking in late fall/early winter when you don't need too much insulation!

Good running mitts. My hands tend to be quite cold at the start of a winter run but overheat about 15 minutes in. With these mitts, my hands start off fairly cold but after the warm up are great. I like the fact that they're mitts and not gloves where your fingers are separated, and they do have a light layer of synthetic insulation that dries quickly on my air vent after a long run. I find the cuffs on the mitts to be quite tight (to help keep the wind out during activity), but I think that in the long run it will be better than having the elastic stretch out and allow heat to escape.
I would recommend these to those who want to perform high-output activities in cold weather conditions without too much bulk.

These are amazing! They are the only thin "wind proof" mittens or gloves that are actually wind proof. Love love love!!! Got them for both my husband and I. Perfect for walking our dog in the chilly windy Boston area in fall and spring (will need my giant insulated ski mittens for winter though). The price on these is a little high, but the difference between these and cheaper supposedly-windproof mittens is huge!

Feels so nice in the glove, nice and roomy inside and the cuff perfectly fits over wrist. Warm and does the job.

Bought these last winter and use them for backcountry skiing. They are surprisingly warm. I wish the palms/thumb area were reinforced, or made from a more durable material, I've gotten several small holes in this area.

I have been running in New England winters for 30 years, and each year buy 1 or 2 sets of gloves or mittens for the upcoming season. These gloves are well-made, and I really like the features, including the pre-formed shape. I found them effective down to about 25 degrees on 5-7 mile runs. In temperatures lower than that, I paired them with a liner and was fine down to about 10 degrees.

The Venta mitten is perfect for skiing in 10-30 degree weather. When it is below zero, however, I need to use another mitten over it to keep my fingers warm. It is lightweight and gives me flexibility so I can use my hands for skiing and to use my binoculars. The XS size I bought is probably true to size, as I wear a X-small to small. The mittens are a good length, long enough to cover and provide extra length to fit under my coat.
