Customer Reviews French Sole Alibi Sandal

These shoes are pretty clearly “inspired” by the Hermès Oran sandal. I decided to buy both and see which one I liked better. (See side by side photo.) In terms of pure look, the Hermès is a bit sharper - the white stitching and the slightly more caramel colored leather are nice. The lines on the Hermès are a bit sharper, less rounded. However, on comfort and fit, the French Sole was way better. First, the FS footbed is much softer. Second, the strap on the Hermès was quite loose on me (my feet are really flat), so much so that my foot went forward so much that my toes were off the front of the shoe. I imagine the FS strap might actually be a little tight on anyone with a wider foot, but it’s perfect for me. In terms of sizing, both were similar. I got a 37 in Hermès and a 7 from French Sole. I wear a 6.5 in flats and heels. So if you are looking for a similar vibe to the Hermès for $480 less, these are a good pick. They won’t fool anyone, but they will play the same role in your wardrobe.

These sandals are super cute but the construction and leather are poor quality. After a few wears the leather at the toe is already worn away. Not worth the price.

Mine, like another reviewer stated, did not have the white stitching. It is brown instead which diminishes from the look in my opinion. Also, I wouldn’t call the color cognac. It’s nothing like the photo but more of a neutral brown which was disappointing. However, they are comfortable and still look nice so I’m keeping them. Time will tell if they hold up.

I was disappointed because the shoes that arrived were not as pictured. The sandals sent to me had brown stitching and not white. I returned them.

I am so disappointed in these shoes. Within days, the sole peeled away from the shoe. They have continued to steadily deteriorate, as the leather has worn and chipped. Such a great look but quality is so poor for $150. I ordered on MDW and by July 4th, they’ve gotten to a nearly unusable state.

Love these sandals. If you want a great dupe to the Hermes sandal, these are it! They run a full size too small though so order up. I wear a 7 in all shoes and needed an 8 in these.

The photo color is misleading! I ordered the cognac expecting a nice brown color with stitching in a lighter color as the photo shows. The real color that comes is a poop brown and the stitching is the same color. Total disappointment and returning them! Maybe the white or color colors are true to what is shown but don't order cognac expecting what you see.

These shoes are so so comfy! I didn’t think they would be as cushioned as they are and I am delightfully surprised. I am definitely going to be ordering myself more pairs.

I have been looking for a pair of sandals that I can wear with a nice dress or skirt all summer long. Because I have back issues, I can't wear anything with a heel or without moderate arch support. With this sandal, I finally found what I have been looking for! I'm thrilled! Definitely a keeper.

These shoes are really cute, and I like the brown ones I have. Unfortunately, my foot slides forward too much in these, so I had to return. The brown ones i have have held up well.

I am a 7.5, sometimes even a 7. These areas tight and I dont have wide feet. Maybe the leather gives after wearing for a while but I cant deal with that. I love the look. Im going to try an and an 8.5.

There was about a 1.5" gap between the top of my foot and the bottom of the sandal straps. I could not even walk in them.

The shoes are cute.. if you have a narrow foot. I don’t have narrow feet but it looked like I could’ve given Cinderella’s step sisters a run for their money. Suggestions - size up and cross your fingers.

I was so excited for these to arrive but they were hideous. The color and style of leather looked completely fake. These went back the next day -such a huge disappointment.

Fits very small, I would probably need to order a full size up for these to fit. Unfortunately as other reviewers have mentioned, the color of these is not at all as shown in the photos -- mine were much closer to photos others have shared, a dull grey-ish mid brown and no contrast stitching. Sending back.

These are very nice sandals. The fit is good. The leather also. I would like it if the H was more like the actual Hermes Oran, but this is still a nice shoe. It looks good on my feet and I love wearing them although they needed some breaking in. Overall a solid purchase and nice for a stylish summer look.

Beautiful sandals but if you’re looking for a dupe for the Hermes this is not it. Darker leather color and no white stitching. same shoes on Tuckernuck have white stitching; not sure why.

Fit true to size, comfortable, and stylish!

Shoes are gorgeous and exactly what I needed. They were very comfortable right out of the box, and the leather is beautiful.

These are great, classic sandals and as others have stated, a good dupe for the similar ones by Hermes. I’m a 7 1/2 but sized up to an 8 based on other reviews and they fit perfectly on me. Highly recommend, plan on a getting a black pair as well!
