Extremely low rise and very uncomfortable. Also oddly long even for me at 5’ 7”. All around terrible cut.

I have purchased 14 pairs of these leggings since 2013. It’s the ONLY thing I wear from November until Spring. I wear them as leggings. They are so comfortable and the merino is very high end quality. Last year, they changed the waistband a little, but I think it’s better. The wool is SOFT and a wee bit stretchy. They wash beautifully; I use Woolite, and air dry. I couldn’t live without them!

i originally ordered a small but realized as soon as I got it on that I would happier with a medium. I'm 5'6" and 116 lbs. The wide waist band is comfy and non-binding, unlike others I've worn. The length is great also. My last pair of Smartwool base layer bottoms lasted me 2 winters and I wear them everyday November through March! When I had to resort to safety pinning the waist on, I decided I it was time to break down and get a new pair this year. :)

I am 5' 6'' and weigh 130 lbs. A size medium fits me well but loosely as I prefer. The merino is soft, silky and very warm. I like the lower wide waist band and find it very comfortable. A little too warm for indoors but nice and cozy for out in the cold.

These are great! I think they are true to size and while I am a medium, I bought these solid black ones in a large because I wasn't sure. They fit fine but are more like lounge pants than leggings, which is how I wear them. I think they are comfy for sleeping and would probably be fine as a base layer under coveralls, overalls, or anything else that isn't form-fitting. My mediums are form fitting and are great under my skinny jeans and dresses. I'm 5'5" and size 10 jeans, if that helps you understand the fit. #sweepstakes

I got a medium (I’m a 4 or 6) and they fit okay but I was wanting these for leggings and not a base layer. It felt like wearing a sweater on my legs which isn’t a problem per se...but not what I was after.

The instant you pull these base layers out of the package you know you're dealing with a quality product. I work for a gear retailer so I've had the chance to handle many base layers and these are by far my favorite. The material is nice and tightly knit, not see-through, and the merino is deliciously soft. I love that they have a wide "legging style" waistband, way more comfortable and flattering than the thin elastic "long john" style waistbands of other brands. I can see myself wearing these as leggings with a tunic, under a dress or skirt, as pjs while traveling, and as their intended base layer purpose. As someone becoming increasingly concerned about sustainability I also appreciate that these are 100% merino without any synthetic. For reference, I am 5'8", 125 lbs, 28" waist, and bought a size medium. I am either a small or medium in different brands, but I am solidly a medium in Smartwool products.

These thermal merino leggings are essential for six months of the year in the Pacific Northwest. I have two pairs, which I wear them from November through May. I love their soft feeling, form-fitting, perfect as a first layer around the house and hiking.

Great and comfortable leggings that fit well, breathe well, and keep you warm! I love them for camping on cold nights. And they don't get stinky :) Very happy to have found a pair of leggings that are 100% soft merino wool!

Totally love the fit, style, color and how they feel on my body. I highly recommend them. And, they keep me warm and dry through the cold and damp Pacific Northwest winters.

First time buying smartwool and I'm in love. The pants stayed put and didn't slide down all day. The waist band wasn't tight and didn't roll. I was warm, but not hot. Love these pants!

During MN winters, I practically live in my Smart Wool baselayers. These bottoms are very warm and comfortable. The color is sort of a marine blue rather than a darker, navy-like, color. I should have sized down as these stretch out quicker than my other Smart Wool bottoms of the same size. However, these are perfect as a true baselayer and not a legging.

I thought the length was going to be a problem (I’m a scant 5’4”), but the little bit of extra length was taken up by my thighs leaving few material wrinkles that I can’t feel once I get moving. The waist is snug (I’ve got a 70-year old girth at 36”) but again it doesn’t bother me once I’m moving.

These base layers are beautiful enough to be worn as outwear in North Florida and soft enough to make you want to wear them everyday. Wool in cold humid weather is the secret to staying warm and these leggings are perfect as a single or double them up when it gets in the teens. The knit is beautiful and soft and the blue is a rich deep hue. You can see the quality in these leggings, especially when compared next to less expensive brands. The knit hold up well and does not pill. Sadly, however, these only lasted me one full season and are now wearing through exactly a year later. Due to their lower durability with a higher price than cheaper brand, I gave them 3 stars. Had they lasted a few years or more, I would give them a solid 5 stars for how much I otherwise adore these leggings.

Best base layer i have ever owned. Even if I work up a sweat I stay at a comfortable temp. It's going to be a staple in my wardrobe.

So cozy with no itching. I already own several of the longsleeve tops, and finally got these after being cold or itchy with other base layer bottoms. True to size, not too long or short. If they hold up as well as the shirts, I'm looking forward to wearing these for years.

These leggings keep me warm in the cold weather. They are really comfortable. I just wish I could figure out how you size your merchandise? I am 5'5 and weight is 122 and I always wear a size Small or 7. In your slacks I wear a Large??? How do you figure your sizes out?

I love these! So cozy and it's great they can be thrown in the washer and dryer with no concerns. I struggle finding leggings or thermals that don't hurt my legs after long periods. Love how they stretch out just a bit when wearing but snap back after washing. I look forward to ordering more.

I have had the same smartwool layer for years and finally replaced them with a new set. They are consistently comfortable, smooth, they don't bunch, they're thin but so warm and so smooth on your skin.

Warm and comfortable. I wear these almost daily in the winter as a base layer. Also make great winter running pants, especially in the cute prints. My old pairs had completely worn out after year of heavy use, and I purchased the same thing to replace them.

My favorite of all thermal wear out there. I even use them as leggings under dresses during winter. Great fit. Super soft. And look good on.

The Women's Classic Thermal Merino bottoms fit better now in the bum area than they used to. Maybe they changed the pattern cut to give more room there. The previous ones that I had purchased in fall of 2022 (a few pairs, made in China) were too low in the back waist area. This past fall (fall of 2023) I purchased a few more (now made in Vietnam) for myself and for gifts. We all find them better fitting.

Holy cow, these base layer leggings are pure comfort! The first time I put my leggings on they did feel slightly scratchy. I’m very sensitive to itchy wool, so I was worried that these wouldn’t work for me. After about 5 minutes of wear they seemed to soften up and I didn’t notice any itchiness at all. I am now living in these bottoms! I wear them underneath jeans and trousers and they are so cozy. Highly recommend!
