I am overall very happy with my purchase. We get 40 degree rain often during the winter months and this coat has been great to keep me dry and warm. I wear the inner shell often as my cool weather jacket. The only things to consider: The outer shell in not completely waterproof as the seems will collect water if exposed to too much rain. The outer shell pockets have no insulation and will not keep your hands warm.

I wear this jacket a daily wear as I live in MT. It is great for winter wear due to its dual jackets that combine as one. Only company is the length of the arms

I've worn the inner jacket a lot, it fits me really well and looks good but the fabric does swish when walking. I've only worn the two together a few times but it kept me very warm in < 25 weather and did a great job blocking wind. The outer shell by itself is really big though but it does a good job at keeping wind and rain off of me.

Great winter coat. It keeps you warm and it light weight in all kinds of weather. The one downside for me is that I would have like for the coat to have at least one inner pocket. Especially on the inner coat. The other pockets are good and deep so they're good for storing things.

My first North Face product and overall happy with my purchase.
Pros:
Lightweight
Waterproof
Windproof
Breathable
3 in 1
Stylish
Cons:
You need to move around to retain body heat. If you are stationary for long periods, you will get cold. Also, to be fair I was not wearing layers and tested this out sleeping in my car without a blanket during winter weather, not smart. I did this field research for the sake of science.

Great for our weather here at the east cost cause it gets really cold at night but this lightweight jacket keeps you warm, I was impressed how light it's and keep you warm in the cold weather

The coat is as described. Some people are complaining that the hood should be lined, etc. It is not meant for that. It is essentially a rain jacket over the top of an insulted, hoodless warm jacket. You pair them togetherin cold +/- rainy conditions or you can separate the two as needed. I ordered the blue color for my son and he is very happy. He is 15yrs old and I'm glad he'll even wear a coat at all as he is like most teenage boys who would rather not. He likes this one very much and the idea that he can have a rain jacket and warm liner all in one or separated is very appealing to him.

Very comfortable and looks awesome. Only thing I would change is to have the pockets lined on outer shell.

Jacket seems nice and well made. Only tried it on and had to return it because it was too big. I used the fit guide and selected loose fit and it was loose but it was too loose to be able to keep me warm. I'm sure it would work how it's intended if it fit better. Insulation seems light doesn't seem like it would be that warm. Outer shell is definitely waterproof and wind proof material. Not very packable with outer shell on.

Fit seems right - I am 6' 180lbs and sleeves and overall size for the XL jacket seems good. It is a little loose fitting but I wanted space for layers so overall seems perfect. The blue color isn't the most attractive color in the world but it is fine and I have a dress coat when I want to look fancy. The coat seems very warm for the weight so I think I will enjoy this winter more than last year.

This is a great coat. My son remarked when he saw my Northface --"it must be nice to have a Northface" so "northface he shall have"-these are great coats and warm. Easy to care for.
PS: why only 4 stars? If I give 5 they are perfect and no one is--it gives incentive to keep making the product better.to get that 5.

Coat looks and feels great. True to fit. I was a little disappointed about the warmth of the jacket, not sufficient for cold winter days.

I originally ordered the red but it looked more orange. I went with the dark green instead. This is a simple but very nice looking coat. I got it on sale which is even better. I was worried that it might not be warm because of how thin it is but it has proved me wrong. It keep you warm and I've been wearing it on low 30s. I haven't been in rain or snow since I've owned it (only 2 days) so i don't know how it does when wet. North Face has always been my go to for winter jackets because they speak for themselves as far as style, durability, and keeping you dry go. I will continue to be a North face customer.
