The Smartwool Intraknit Thermal Merino base layer is perfect for hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and other winter sports. The fabric thicker than other manufacturers which seemed to wear out in less than 2 years of moderate use. Highly recommend !!!

I live in my Smartwool base layers during our majestic winter months here at North Lake Tahoe's majestic Donner Lake within the incredible Town of Truckee, California. With temperatures dipping into the single digits, I can always rely on my Smartwool to keep me comfortable throughout the day! Be it skiing, dog walking or a rewarding day at work - Smartwool is the only choice for me!

Fit is nice. Adds a bit of compression which helped on the longer days. Both ski days wearing this were sub 20 degrees and the cold was of no impact to me.

A great product that keeps comfortably warm without all the bulkiness or sweaty. I use it to ski and can ski all day without having to peel off other layers of clothing.

Great product!!! I'm a firefighter and we go to extreme cold quickly with most calls we run on. The Thermal Merino base bottoms keep my legs warm which I turn helps my back still function. :-) These are my third pair love them and wear them most days of the winter! Thank again to smart wool! I love a company that stands behind their products!

Great base layer! I have worn them at -10 degrees with just one layer above and was warm. They are soft and comfortable to wear in any situation.

I use this product for long walks on very cold days along with being outside during cold weather sporting events. Like the fact that that it is snug fitting to keep cold air from coming under the garment. No real complaints except some type of fly would be nice along with some other colors, especially navy.

Use these primarily for skiing. Very comfortable and warm. Even in below freezing temperatures, with a shell on top. Also quite breathable when I exert myself on a hike uphill, get worked up on difficult terrain or when the forecast is wrong. Very satisfied with the fit and the way they move with me. I may buy another pair and would certainly recommend them. Remember not to put 'em in the dryer !

Used while working outdoors in coastal Massachusetts in 35F and below weather. Significant winds/windshield, snow, rain 45 hours per week no matter the weather. This protects your core from the frigid winds as a great base layer. 10 out of 10 stars would buy again.

This is used in 35 F and below on Cape Cod during the winter, 5 days a week while working outside building new homes. The wind chill often creates frigid, miserable conditions for 8 hours a day so a warm, comfortable base layer is necessary. The mens Intraknit is light, made of comfortable fabric but keeps the body warm in sub par conditions all day. The only draw back is it is missing a fly opening, which makes using the bathroom in an ice cold port-o-john a little less awful. A little. Regardless, 10 out of 10 stars, would buy again.
