I have arthritis in my right knee and this is the only shoe that makes my knee feel good even after prolonged walking. It comfortable and supportive.

The Addiction Walker 2 was recommended to me by my podiatrist. I was having trouble with heel pain and planter's fasciitis. After buying the shoes, he added an orthotic. Six weeks later I was pain-free. It really was magical. It was especially important to me that I was able to get an extra wide size with a very generous toe box. It is now the only shoe I wear. I strongly recommend the shoe to anyone, but especially people with foot problems.

Love the Brooks walking shoes! I've had numerous pairs however the latest edition was narrower than the past versions. I don't think the width is true to size anymore.

I walk about 10 miles a day at work. I brought the Brooks addition II nine months ago and they are holding up well. I replaced the insoles about three times so far. I'm pleased with my purchase. My feet are pleased with the Brooks shoes.

I was skeptical when I saw that this style had been updated last year. I bought a pair and have walked on them for six months. The new style is an improvement. I don't get foot pain and these are rugged shoes. I walk a lot and tear up my shoes but these look pretty good after six months and many miles. The only small complaint I have is that the shoe strings are about two inches too long and I sometimes "step on the loop" and untie them when I am walking.

I'm a bartender and spend a lot of time on my feet during the week. I've always had issues with foot and knee pain as a result, and these are hands-down the best shoes I've found for minimizing that pain. They're extremely comfortable, offer great arch-support, and feature a very effective slip-resistant sole. I highly recommend these shoes to anyone working in foodservice with chronic foot pain.

Solidly built shoe with excellent support, protection, & traction. Besides walking, I use it for trail rucking carrying 20% bodyweight, resistance training, & mountain biking, all with good results. By design, too stiff for most HIIT, which is not a criticism. This is now one of my three go-to shoes: boots for long hikes, running shoes for running & HIIT, and this for everything else. Haven't owned it long enough to see how well the sole wears; hopefully it will hold up longer than the typical cross-trainer.

Probably had ten pairs of these over the years. Mixed in other brands along the way and keep coming back to these. Just outstanding. I know all feet are not the same, but these work for me. I buy mine at Amazon

Great shoe, I am 75 years old and wear an ankle brace in my right ankle for arthritis, a little hard to put the shoe on. After it is on, it feels great and allows me support for a daily walk with my dog. Maybe a tad more flexibility at the top of the laces.

All the other shoes I own (including those from Zappos) are 11.5 Narrows. This one felt tight at 12 narrow. Still, they perform better than any other shoe I have had for saving my ankles from the effects of over-pronation. The older version of this shoe did fit a bit better, and the construction quality was better. Still, I would order this again. I hope it becomes available in brown suede like its predecessor.

I have been using AW for many years, the positives compared to the originals walkers.
The insole and tread are n the bottom of the show lasts longer than the previous model, but 2 times I have slipped and went down on the ground wearing these shoes.
It could have been my error but I never slipped wearing the old addition walkers.
I am satisfied with them

Previous Brooks addiction had one piece mesh around the front of the foot. These have 2 pieces of leather that overlap at the junction of the proximal and 2nd metatarsal causing chafing and pain.
I'd also recommend:
I'll have to research what you have.

I’ve recently purchased 2 pairs of these shoes. Both pair have stitches that are coming apart on the same spot in both different pairs. I has purchased these same shoes numerous times over the years. These recent problems arose with less than 20 miles on each pair.
I’m hoping that can get this resolved at the factory. I never had this problem before.

I think the old style was more comfortable and durable. The leather in the tow of the new style shoe cracked and created a hole in less than a year. The plastic stripey stuff on the sides looks cheap compared to the old model.

The last 2 shipments of this product, in both the white and black colors), have had the rubber piece, that comes up in the middle in the front of the sneaker, come loose. It has come lose very quickly where others that I have purchased prior never had that problem. I don't know if it's a gluing issue but it makes the sneakers look worn.

What was Brooks thinking? The original Brooks AW was sturdy and had an excellent fit. These shoes feel like cheap plastic. Nowhere on the shoe does it say it's leather. They actually squeak. I will not be ordering Brooks in the future. So disappointing.

The shoes are too heavy for walking shoes, especially when you walk 8-10 miles every morning. I am thinking of returning it. They were also a little tight. I only had only worn twice. I always bought running shoes they are light but they wear out too quickly. The last pair, inside was worn out under the balls of the foot. I may move from brooks to another brand. I think the quality of the shoes is going down.

Had quite a few pair of AW1, then they changed it. Doesnt fit right, and shin splints have returned, after being gone for years when I switched to the original AW1. Prob will try NB now.

Leather was very stiff - difficult to put on. This is a different version of the "Addiction Walker" in sizing, fit, style, and narrowness of the toe box. Original ones had a very rounded toe; this style is more "pointed."

Hey Brooks, if it's not broken don't fix it. I have worn the Addiction Walker as an everyday work shoe for 15 years. I loved them and repurchased them several times. The shoe sold well but they redesigned it to make it a cheap plastic and low-quality leather piece of junk. These shoes now look like shoes you wear to the disco. Very poorly redesigned. I returned them.
