Shoes split open in less than a hundred miles. I've been running in Ghosts since the Ghost 3 and until now, I've been a huge fan of Brooks. However, they have a serious manufacturing problem with this run of Ghosts, as both shoes split wide open where the mesh meets the sole. Totally unacceptable for a shoe to do this with so little wear. Check out the photos.

Well, it always seems to happen. I LOVED last year's Ghost 11s - I wear a 4E wide, and the Ghost 11s really felt perfect (particularly in the toe box). With this Ghost 12, however, the shoes definitely feel narrower (particularly in the toe box) - not horribly tighter, but definitely snugger than the 11s (and maybe slightly shorter too). So, I'm having to buy up the available 11s and hope that Brooks fixes things in a year with the 13s. I also don't like the new design/look as much as the 11s.

I have worn Brooks Ghost 11 in the past and I loved them. I purchased the Ghost 12 in the same size, Mens 10, and the toe box is narrow compared to the Ghost 11. I am disappointed! I hope this message reaches Brooks. I don't want to order the next half size up or wider because I think it will be too large. I am returning the Ghost 12.

These shoes arrived DIRTY!! The soles look as if they have been worn—NOT OK!! The sides also are scuffed. I will be returning these immediately!

If you have wide feet AND high arches, then this is not the shoe for you. I ordered my size, and the shoe was tight and the laces were too short for me to adequately tie the shoes. So, I ordered a half size larger- not much different.

The shoes are fine- feel exactly like the Brooks Ghost 12s I had to unexpectedly replace. Here’s the thing: zappos sent me shoes that had clearly been worn outside by someone else. They had dirt on the soles and dirt in the box. I’m training for a big race and didn’t have time to do a return and get another pair, because then I’d be forced to miss more training days. So I kept the darn things, and yeah, whoever had them before me hadn’t destroyed them or anything... but gosh darn guys, I expect to get a pair of brand new shoes when I’m paying $130 a pop. I used to enthusiastically recommend zappos to people. No more.

So, my Ghost 11 finally needed replacing. I really tried to replace them with something less expensive, more stylish (yes, this wahine has luau feet) and streamlined. I tried 4 other brands and they ALL went back because they just don't cut it. Now, if we could just get Brooks to widen the tongue at the top of the wider width shoes for 5 star rating...a girl can dream!

This shoe seems to fit true to size but it is a little too cushioned for me. I will train in it some but it won't be my main shoe.

Giving these a try after five years of steady and successful Asics use. During the first few uses, at least, these seem to have a little better heel control, slightly more cushioning, and a little more toe box room (with both in the medium width). Lots of little touches that seem well-thought out, such as the additional tongue position control loop. Drop angle might be a little greater than the Asics models I'm used to, but this has not been a problem for me. All things considered, very satisfied overall. Only use these for running, not everyday casual wear, so can't comment on their usefulness for the latter purpose.

I bought Ghost 11 and 12 pairs as had good luck with first pair of Ghost 11's (bought as they come in 4E width). New Ghost 11 initially seemed great but I started having vague right knee pain. I didn't associate pain with the shoes at first. When I switched to the new Ghost 12 shoes, walking ( 8-10 miles a day) caused my knee hurt so bad I had to quit walking (my right hip hurt too). I switched back to an old pair of neutral Asics and all pain disappeared. It appears that the last version of the Ghost 11 and now the new Ghost 12 are not neutral. Upset with Brooks for changing shoe neutrality as I loved the fit and form of the shoe. Back to Asics

I have a neutral foot. I run on both cement and treadmills. I average 2-3 mile runs. I've been using these shoe for a few months now and they are the best running shoes I've ever worn. They are extremely comfortable and offer a lot of support without being too heavy. I prefer lighter shoes, but the support is worth the extra weight.

This is my first pair of Brooks and I really like them. I have been running in New Balance for the last few years. After getting custom orthotics this year for foot issues, my podiatrist recommended a shoe with more cushioning. I have been buying running shoes that fit the "minimalist" specs of low cushioning and minimal drop. My podiatrist recommended looking at Brooks and I am really happy with the Ghost so far. They well cushioned without feeling spongy.

I've used Brooks Glycerin for over 10 years until they went astray with model 16, only slightly fixed in 17, so looked for an alternative. Found the Ghost to be perfect for me. Excellent fit, true to size and width. Shoe is harder than the Glycerin 15 which I loved, but found it to work well and actually quite fast. Went out running with them right out of the box which is rare. I've ran on them about 55 miles including 10+ miles runs. Since I was awaiting for new trails shoes also took them on several trail runs. They of course lack the stability of a trail running shoe but fared ok. Excellent shoe. Looks could be better, they seem very minimalistic.

The is my second pair of this shoe. Brooks has discontinued the Ghost 12 but I found it on Zappos for an attractive sale price. i love these shoes but what I really want to comment on is Zappos' customer service. There was an error in shipping but they corrected it well beyond my satisfaction.

Feet are like finger prints - everyone is unique. 3 years ago, I bought Ghost 10s, and LOVED them. Then, I bought Ghost 11 and was really disappointed. So, I decided to hold off on Ghost 12 and wait for the Ghost 13s. When the Ghost 12 went on-sale, I thought I'd give it a try. I was NOT at all disappointed. These feel so good on my feet: comfortable, stable, flexible, breathable, just what I wanted. I liked them so much, I bought a 2nd pair as the price was right and maybe I wouldn't like the Ghost 13 that is expected in July 2020. The Ghost 12 is certainly worth a try.

Have gone through 2 pairs of Ghost 11's and I believe the 12's are a better shoe. Feel more substantial and stable. Would recommend these without question.

In my opinion, the best Ghost Brooks has produced to date. The fit is fantastic, not as loose as the 11. Nice to see Brooks went back to a good "rounded" shoelace instead of the "ribbon" used on the 11. Great design with plenty of padding in the sole and forefoot. The shoe feels lighter than the 11 and has ample arch support as well. Shoe box has a more streamlined look and feel which some reviewers have not taken a liking to. Everyone has the right to his/her opinion. Final thoughts...Brooks needs to leave this one alone.

Overall, these are a reasonable compromise for a person that has somewhat wide feet. They only offer 4E on a few colors unfortunately, but the 2E does a fair job of accommodating my needs. Hopefully break in will resolve that last 10% that I'd like to see. They are definitely cushy, but not so much that if you stand on them for long periods, that you won't feel it in your heels. Grip is very nice on various surfaces, though I haven't tried them on wet yet. The appearance is modern, but not as slick as some of the newer designs. Laces are very slippery to the touch, but lock into place nicely once tied. Finally, the fit and finish is good. Materials are light, but not flimsy, and they feel soft. Hopefully they will make the Gray/Pearl/Oyster in 4E soon....

They messed up Ghost 12. I've worn Ghost 11 and others before, felt great. These were too narrow, despite being the standard Medium (D) width. The front half of my foot felt like it was falling asleep despite not lacing them very tight. Being returned.

I had the Ghost 10 for years and needed something similar since those are discontinued. Couldn't wear the Beast or Adrenaline gts 18 (hurt my feet). Customer Rep said the Ghost 12's were the closest match. They are perfect for my feet.

Amazing - the Ghost never disappoints! So plush around the ankle and tongue. I veer between 11.5 and 12, 4E width, and had to go with the 12. But with high arches, that leaves me room for inserts if needed. Love these shoes!
