These are warm inside and water resistant. Good for fall and early spring. Sizing is normal sneaker size.

I own original low top Converse Chuck Taylor All Stars and everyone knows they run large (you buy either half or full size down - almost like boot/dress shoe size). However I was not familiar with the leather, winter style All Stars, so I read the comments and no one really mentioned size being an issue so I ordered my normal 11 tennis shoe size (this almost always works for me in Vans, Reebok, Nike, Adidas, etc.) but sure enough this Converse like my originals runs big. I normally buy a 10 in Converse but perhaps because they have a different upper and lining this one feels more like a half size big. Other than the size I was very exited about these shoes.

The foot part of the shoe felt fine... but there are grommets in the upper part of the shoe that the totally unpadded upper & tongue leave fully exposed to dig into you ankles, & they do. Easily one of the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever tried on. They look good, but they are cheaply made.

Chuck Taylors have never been comfortable to me. No insole, soles are too flat, rub me wrong etc. I read online that since Nike bought Converse the fit was better and gambled on a pair of leather all weather Chucks. Out of the box the sole wasn't the old flat unbending thing of the old canvas Chucks. I put them on a walked around and was impressed with the new fit and rocker to the sole. I wore them a few hours and a week later I wore them for 10 hours while I was on my feet all day at a trade show. They are great, if the canvas ones fit as well, I will have to get some more.

If you like regular Chuck Taylor Converse high tops, you’ll love these. In place of the routine canvas, you have a thicker leather lined with a thin grey fleece. While they are advertised as “winter” I think you can likely wear them all year round or at least in spring and fall as well. I have a traditional leather pair (AC/DC) and these feel way more supportive and comfortable. I normally wear 10 to 10.5 men’s American and these (10.5) fit true to size (not thick sock).
